I really appreciate you taking us along on your journey. Thanks for the videos.
Great video!! Have fun and be safe.
Thank you! Will do!
That water! WOW! Keep doing you, my friend. We are out here living through you guys - daily! Blessins...
Thanks so much
As I watch this, you are sailing in some of our favorite waters, BVI, and we are sailing in the fjords of Iceland! As you say, this does not suck!
Thanks for watching
Love ALL of your videos, dreaming of having that life someday! Watching from Houston as always!
You can do it! thanks for watching
So exciting to see Marina Cay's comeback! Was there in 2017 (staying on Great Camanoe) and have wanted to go back ever since! What a shindig! Thank you for sharing with us, Alan!
Thanks for watching!
Been a fan of your videos for quite some time now. They’ve inspired me on my own sailing journey to bareboat charter in the BVIs with my family in the future. This is really sad news and I feel for you, brother. Hoping all the support gets you through this tough time. Much love. ❤
Life is good…..Congrats
Thanks for watching!
Wait, what?!?! Omg is it back? Stayed there when was Pussers resort
Alan, I just wanted to let you know how much I appreciate each and every one of your videos. This may sound strange, but you remind me so much of my late grandfather, who was my hero growing up. Watching these videos somehow brings back so many great memories in my head, many of which I haven't thought about since the day they were made. Thank you so much for doing this and bringing us all along for your wild adventures!
My son is working @ this place marina cay so beautiful and relaxing place
We loved Anegada, cow wreck beach, Potters and of course Sam! Such a cool island with incredible water. Thanks for the recommendation. We had a great time!
Awesome
Alan, the adoration is not misplaced! It belongs on your shoulders! Being in Texas, I didn't really believe "us landlubbers" could navigate a boat as extensively as you show. Becoming more of a believer every video you post. Thank you for all your endeavors!
Thanks for that
I can't wait to get there some day. So happy you guys had a great celebration of the reopening.
Those swimsuits on those guys were hysterical - now that merch would sell ! 🤣
Totally!
Thank you for sharing your wonderful life.
Another great video. Thanks to your videos we chartered last Feb with Marinemax in the BVI. The guy that fixed impeller was our captain for the 8 days we were on the boat. He is a great guy and he lives just above the beach by Quitos in Cane Garden Bay.
That is awesome! Thanks for watching!
Just Awesome, I will be there one day!
I hope so too!
VICTORY!!!! congrats!
Another great video! Looks like great times had by all. BVI will be a stop for my wife and I soon.
Please do! Thanks for watching
As always your lens has turned ordinary screens into portals of wonder 🎥🌴🔮. Thanks again for another great video! Have fun and be safe. Watching from Phoenix, AZ.
Great Job Alan!👍
Thanks
Alan - Another masterpiece... Thank you for the fun distraction Sir ! 💪❤
Glad you enjoyed it!
We loved Anegada (The Settlement). We went to Big Bamboo Beach Bar, Anegada Beach Club & Cow Wreck. I wished we would have rented a Smart car (didn't see them) instead rented those funny little Jeep things. At 6'5" I had to hang my left butt cheek over the edge just to be able to drive and use the pedals! 🤣👏👏 Great video, makes me miss the place each video release! Cheers!
I saw you and your guests at ONB back in June. You were busy but next time I will introduce myself. Keep posting, love your channel.
Please come up and say hi...I love that! thanks for watching.
I saw you too, we were on on the 43PC on the mooring buoy right beside you at Anegada. I might try an intro next time as well😏
Hello Mr Hillbilly. I Love watching your videos. You and your wandering family are so fun to watch. I usually watch on the tv so I don’t comment but I’m on my iPad today and had a chance to say hey! You have inspired me to want to get into boating. I dream to someday see you on the water. Stay safe and enjoy.
This brings back memories for me of early morning painkillers at cow wreck, diving for conch in the afternoon, and ending the day at potters. Well done sir. You’re satiating my bvi appetite until we can make it there next!
Thanks for watching!
Alan, we visited Anegada in April. We spent 4 nights at the Anegada Beach Club. What a great island. Love the people there. Snorkeling the reef was amazing. Anegada is the 4th largest coral reef in the world. The people are wonderful and the food is so good! Can't wait to return.
Ben
So cool! Thanks for watching
Alan, next time you visit Anegada, I would highly recommend you have lunch at Tipsy's bar at Cow Wreck Beach. We ate lunch there twice in four days. They make a really tasty Bushwacker. The food is yummy, and their onion rings are a must try. Ann is the owner, and she owns the rental houses at Cow Wreck Beach. Also, dinner at the Lobster Trap is great. We didn't have a boat. We had to settle on their deck with Anegada lobster for sunset dinners. All 4 nights we were there. If ABC's beach bar is open, the view is worth the stop. Mr. Bread will shuttle you from Lobster Trap to ABC for tip money. He is an amazing man. The food at ABC is really good, too. However, there is no view while dining.
Can you tell we had fun there? And I am Jonesing to return.
Veronika, at Lobster Trap, will take good care of you if you choose to dine there.
Take Care
Ronnie is a legend... 👍
You are making me Jealous. Jealous enough I just decided to sell my marina in Michigan and join you.
Hah...hope you got a good deal! thank for watching
A couple of GEN Xers (( ME 2)),- in a smart car --on a dirt road --on an island. Sounds like a contradiction in terms.
Side by Side 🍻🙈🍻
Love it👍🏼
Well said!
Love your videos! I aspire to live this life one day soon..just not sure the sea sick wife will be able to handle the wave!! Maybe I will leave her home!! LOL Keep up the good work we all live through your adventure
My wife is the same. Just be cautious and contour your trip around her needs. It works!
Thanks for sharing this fun trip. How does the safety gear look; do you have a sat phone? Bottles of water and an extra vhf? Extra vhf battery charged up? Whistle, flares, and smaller first aid kit in a ditch bag all packed? Consider going over the ditch bag because if you need it you won't have time. The impeller is a bummer but glad it was fixed quickly.
OK, the dudes in the Speedos? I could have gone the rest of my life without seeing that!
We are taking a cruise and will be docking on Tortola 12/13. No excursions. Going to head to Nanny Cay and MarineMax instead. Trying to book a day trip or at least tour the boats to get my wife comfortable with me captaining one for a week.
Perfect! Enjoy
Every boater ever: I have backups for backups for backups! We're good!
That one random thing you don't have a backup for: Hold my beer... Hahaha
I still say your boat is a LEMON! 🇺🇸🏴☠️
Your videos are making me want to check out the BVI’s! Maybe one day.
There are remote monitoring systems that will alert you when something happens like your batteries getting too low. If you have a Victron inverter their Cerbo GX is very nice for this.
The BVIs are a different animal. Hope you get to explore!
Curious as to the the cause of your generator failure. We have had seaweed clog strainers several times in the BVI which led to shutdowns. You have to have a toilet plunger like device to clear the strainer hose and everything is good to go.
Total seaweed failure. Used my dinghy pump to push it out. Thanks for watching
@@thewanderinghillbilly good to hear you were able to clear it without much drama. My wife and I love revisiting all the places in the BVI through your videos. Safe travels.
I am hooked on the BVI’s now thanks to you! Is there any chance you will be there this Thanksgiving?
Probably not. October!
Alan, you have inspired my next sailing trip to relax for a day at one of the resorts, since we have never done that before, would you recommend starting with Scrub Island? We will be chartering in February.
Great videos but in the last two videos the background music is relatively louder to the extent I find it difficult to hear you.
Sorry about that
Alan a technical question: How much (time) video do you take to come up with 15 - 20 minutes of usable footage? Love the videos and the channel.
I am considering an Aquila 54 to go island hopping and some fishing on the dingly. What is your honest feedback of the quality of the Aquila line? After sales customer service. Would you recommend to buy a 54? Lovin your laid back demeanor almost Hawaiian time mode lol. I have had 5 boats. Sea doos. go fast, center console, runabout and a 49 aft cabin. Your feedback is greatly appreciated. Aloha
How long have you been sailing
As always love your posts. TIP. As a courtesy, when adding your WH decals, please do not cover other persons or names. Cheers
Good tip!
YES Scooters are dangerous.... I remember decades of Bermuda trips where Americans were literally torn-up on scooter and motobecanes... They are dangerous as shit ,,,,
Yes sir
You made me look up Iron Butterfly, I was about 13 when that song came out. ua-cam.com/video/An0o46MAzm4/v-deo.html
