If you haven't been a black band room you wouldn't understand how it makes you feel.
Race is no excuse for overblowing.
+kopooser race is the reason you don't understand the culture tho. you call it over blowing but you don't know their style. that's like saying usc trojan band has no discipline and are too care free. is their style weather you like it or not. if you in fact don't like it, it doesn't matter because their style has put them in the position they're in now, which ain't too shabby.
Style or not, recognition or not, there is no excuse for poor musicianship.
+kopooser ok bruh, so what do you want. they are a top 10 ncaa band. they keep people in the stands, they have great halftime shows, and they do it their way. why are you hating? seems like all you people who stumble upon su without knowing their traditions find anything to hate. if you can't stand to hear them, you should consider not listening to most hbcu band music. maybe Ohio st., Michigan, Texas, or insert bland band is your cup of tea. personally, I dont listen to that traditional pwc music because while they work hard too, that shit is amazingly boring. hbcu bands keep you in your seats. and often steal the crowd when they perform at a pwc. I'll take southern and their "over blowing" over any boring ass band.

Wish they a better percussion section. No bass runs no snare chops no anything. It's all about the horns and trying to blow top off everytime. Still love to hear them play just need more diversity in the percussion section.
