They totally downplayed the attendance of other dojos in this tournament. It's almost as if there weren't any others there except for the occasional fight with students from other ones. They need to have other dojos represented in the series from time to time otherwise this claim that The Valley has this fixation on karate is being exaggerated. I think the show has become popular enough to make the episodes longer or just add more episodes. Also, there are quite a few students in all the dojos that have been around long enough to get some speaking lines and even some character development. It's weird to have these guys (and sometimes, girls) around but they don't add much or anything to the show.
i agree, they should’ve tried to bring xander back, or anyone for that matter. its theoretically impossible for devon and demetri to make the semis. i think assface had a bit of character development. he grew to become the legendary penis breath
As i watched part way through, it was foreshadowed that hawk would win as his redemption arc was extremely meaningful and well done. robby i feel was building his redemption arc but it's not yet complete but the ending does foreshadow him to continue to grow and complete his redemption arc w a victory perhaps in season 6/7.

I also like Robby and very happy to see that at end, writers are implying there’s a lot more story to tell for me, likely undergoing an arc similar to Tory/ hawk before next tournament
Everything in this season was a roller coaster of emotions from uncontrollable laughter to uncontrollable tears. The scene that got me was the revelation of Johnny's childhood when he first learned his Mom was getting hitched to Sid. RIP by the way to Ed Asner. That scene bleeds right into the Sail Away song by Christopher Cross which was the perfect storm for turning on the waterworks for me. This scene perfectly captures Johnny's anxt about telling Miguel about him and Carmen's relationship. The setup and payoff writing in this show is unlike anything I have ever seen. If writing screenplays was likened to Karate, then these writers are the new Senseis.
I think the scene where we see Terry Silver checking the Japanese stock exchange during breakfast is a foreshadow to S5. What if Chozen (who maybe has inherited some of Sato's companies) does something to affect Silver's investments in the Japanese market. Making him lose a tonne of money etc. and no longer able to make Cobra Kai go nationwide in the U.S.?
something i noticed is that when Johnny is sparring with Daniel before their double knockout he kicks Daniel in the chest after they fall to the floor, which is exactly how Eli wins the All-Valley against Robby
A lot of these were reaches lol 😂 This be like "You hear him breathe ? That's the same breathing pattern he did in KK3 when Danny was standing on the mat" 😭😭😭
Something I instantly noticed was when Daniel talks about them getting into a knife fight in the drive in theatre wich is a callback to ralph machios movie, the outsiders
So many surprises… I didn’t expect Eli winning however I’m so happy he did. I did see how Terry Silver was going to somehow get rid of his weakness in Kreese. I can’t wait for season 5 and 6. Love Cobra Kai and so happy to see many more karate kids.. 😁😊
Low key??? It would be great! Say what you want about the writing in that movie, Swank is a great actor so I’m sure it would be a great addition with these writers.
I have an easter egg: When Kenny is caught in the bathroom wearing a cobra kia shirt and getting shit for it from Hawk, when Hawk and the other two eagle fang midgets leave, one of them shouts out "I think he's gonna cry". That's a callback from The Karate Kid original when Daniel is dressing for the tournament and cobra kias confront him then yell out the same statement to Daniel.
How Anthony tells Robby to leave him alone after Kenny punched his midsection is similar to how Daniel tells Ali to leave him alone when Johnny beat him up on the beach.
At the beginning of the tournament, during the montage, Devon Lee defeats her opponent with a kick to the face; it's the same kick to the face that Johnny uses to defeat his opponent at the start of the tournament in The Karate Kid movie, also during a montage.
Some of these are like: "In episode 3, Daniel says, "Hello", which is a word with some vowels and consonants in it. This echoes Silver's kiai in Karate Kid 3! And both occur on days of the week with a letter Y in them."
This was awesome. I sincerely hope season 5 has Johnny go after Miguel and take Robbie with him for that father son bonding trip they've always wanted but been too proud to make happen.
Everyone is missing that the winning kick by hawk over Daniel is the same Lawrence uses against Daniel in their fight to score the second point. Even though Hawk wasn’t there it shows Johny taught him that and what won him the fight was Cobra Kai or Eagle Fang style lol
Johnny's response to "not be there": your sensei is telling you secrets to a 100 year art and you couldn't help him with his English (paraphrased). LMAO!
Loved Terry Silver in season 4, and that you get to see that before he went nuts again, Cobra Kai students were not that bad, they had really been pushed by the Miyagi kids who took on a bully type role. Almost made me want cobra kai to win, til you realize it was a big scam by Terry, and as a Neo Geo lover, I love the art of fighting references!
Another reference to rocky 4, is the training montages in the dojo intros for the all valley: Eagle Fang are working out with simple old school exercise equipment, like how rocky does, whereas Cobra Kai have fancy high tech equipment like ivan drago
Sidekicks was also referenced in season 2 at the Cobra Kai Valley fest demo when Johnny breaks the cinderblocks that were lit on fire. You heard it here first.
Damn, great job man… I’ve watched a bunch of these type of videos in the past handful of days, and you mention all sorts of things that I’ve not seen come up in any other video. 🤘🏻
Yeah, which is wierd to me. I assumed the story was about Sam and Miguel, but they started going toward Kreese, Daniel and Johnny's rivalry in season 4.
At 12:50 you mention Hawks purple hair. I think this is a star war reference. Blue lightsaber was the light side, red the dark side. The only one who used a purple lightsaber was Mace Windu who was a reformed sith.
You left the part out about Tori finding out that her win was tainted, when she found out the referee was compromised when she saw Terry Silver paying him off.
Aiesha is probably one of the most underrated and under used characters. I hope she comes back she was one of my favorites. I wonder if she studies martial arts in her new town. That could be interesting maybe if she seeks out a new sensei it could be how Julie Pierce returns. Her style could be different since Julie Pierce had some Martial arts skills prior to meeting Miyagi (noted by how she leaped over the car in Next Karate Kid). Miyagi only trained her for a couple of weeks so her Training might include some Miyagi do, but she may have developed further afterwards. Also since the actress Hillary Swank trained and stared in a movie on Boxing (Million Dollar Baby) her style could include alot more punching than Miyagi do. Nicole Brown would probably do well portraying that style of martial arts
I really hope they can get Hillary Swank for season 5, it'd make sense to have two more Miyagi-do senseis show up since Daniel can't directly teach anymore
After Season 3 I though of 3 ways Hillary Swank's Julie could be reintroduced. one way I though might her being a therapist /probation officer for Tory and Robby ( I base this being that her training in Miyagi do was more Zen at the Monastery and might have inspired her to be a therapist). The other is her working for the zoo ( she was tending to a bird in her movie) , where the Cobra Kai students stole the Cobra from. But a better idea might be that she joined the military, ( her boyfriend was trying to get into the U.S.A.F academy, plus her grandfather was Miyagi's commander thus she comes from a family with a military legacy). Her being in the Military opens many possible plot ideas, she maybe Kenny's fathers commander, She also might have access to information about Kreese and Silver's history, perhaps they were discharged under less than honorable conditions. Another Possibly Since her Grandfather was Military with Miyagi , could her father have been in the military also and served with Kreese? When Miyagi first meets Julie she avoids being hit by the a car using a martial art move, thus indicating she has some previous training or exposure to martial arts.

Anybody else think that Anthony LaRusso is a complete sociopath? He shows some signs of regret for bullying Kenny, but I'm not really buying that he stopped because he learned his lesson. He just figured out that it was more advantageous to behave so he wouldn't be grounded anymore.
I would personally love where if each time Daniel tries to do something involving the old movies like doing a miyagi saying it would cut back to when mr miyagi said it
I love Hawk. I would have bought the redemption arc for him if he hadn't broken Demitri's arm. If it had been an accident? Sure. But he did it on purpose! Like Demitri's parents would have allowed thar friendship to continue. Not.
Kenny's username on Dungeon Lord is Kennythejet99. A clear reference to the legendary full contact karate fighter, kickboxer, boxer, and actor Benny 'The Jet' Urquidez.
Here's the big Season 5 shenanigan (besides Barnes returning): When Johnny gets back from Mexico, with battle stories to tell... only to see Chozen teaching Miyagi-Do AND Eagle Fang students. Naturally, being Johnny, he's gonna spout of something like "Woah, hold up. So, who the $@#! are you supposed to be?" Chozen then commences to give Johnny a beat-down for insulting his honor. Wait for it lol...
Not only does Sam perform kata to focus (like what Daniel does with Seiyunchin in III), she also employs several techniques from a number of Shuri-te kata (namely Passai sho and either Chinto or Shito-ryu's adaptation of Rohai) The weird thing Cobra-Kai has done with its kata? They've seemingly retconned the provenance of Miyagi-do despite still featuring the real Chojun Miyagi's picture on a number of occasions. With the addition of all those Shuri-te kata that they've been doing since S2 (that is, since the weird mixture of Naha-te's Seiyunchin and Shuri-te's Kusanku Dai that they used for the balance exercise), It's no longer pure Okinawan Goju-ryu/Naha-te. Rather it seems that some historical revisionism has taken place, and now Miyagi-do is basically Shito-ryu (a comparably newer, mainland Japanese style that amalgamates most of the major Okinawan kata from Shuri, Naha and Tomari-te styles)
I think Miyagi do has an identity problem. They want to give a legitimacy to the style by using the name Miyagi but from the first movies Demura being a Shito Ryu practitioner ,the choreography, when you watch his fighting is clearly not Goju.
Thank you for making the Road Warrior Hawk reference. I was hoping one of the two guys who make constant wrestling reference would point it out in the show. Missed opportunity.

You forgot to mention how Silver beat both Robby and Johnny with a spinning heel kick that knocked them to the floor, and also how Hawk and Johnny used the same technique to score a point by grappling on to their opponents with their legs and kicking them in the stomach.
One of my favorite parts of season 4 was after Daniel beats up the hockey players he asks Johnny “Where were you?” And Johnny replies “No Be There.”
As i watched part way through, it was foreshadowed that hawk would win as his redemption arc was extremely meaningful and well done. robby i feel was building his redemption arc but it's not yet complete but the ending does foreshadow him to continue to grow and complete his redemption arc w a victory perhaps in season 6/7.
what redemption, robby is a good character at heart and he never has acted like a doucebag? so what are u talking about
@@robleyusuf6454 shaving Eli mohawk, sending Miguel to coma, transforming Kenny into a pure douchebag bully. Like bruh the ending summed up that he realized all his hate for Miguel and Johnny sent him down the wrong path and he now realizes how hard it can be to be s father figure when he realizes the path he sent Kenny. That’s why he literally says that seeing Kenny become a full blown bully is like looking at himself in mirror. Bonding w his father is start of his redemption and so much story to tell.
@@vicluu4122 but he isnt really the reason Kenny became a bullterrier, thats because of kreese and silver? And Miguel was an accident, back at the school fight all Robby wanted to do was stop the fight and Miguel kept attacking him, its really not robbys fault he got injured
@@vicluu4122 and eli deserved getting his mohawk cut after what he did, so i dont see a big problem, all in all Robby is a hood guy, like anyone he sometimes makes mistakes but unlike many characters on the show he regrets what he does and show remorse
@@robleyusuf6454 I mean no one person is 100% responsible for Kenny going dark. I am not here saying Robby is bad and always in wrong and needs redemption. I am saying that season 1-4 beautifully shows you that no one is all good or all bad and everyone has done something wrong and they all seem to follow a redemption arc. This is why I had a feeling Robby wouldn’t win, bc it doesn’t foreshadow him building towards anything meaningful until at end when he realizes and sees all of his own flaws in kenny . I also like Robby and very happy to see that at end, writers are implying there’s a lot more story to tell for me, likely undergoing an arc similar to Tory/ hawk before next tournament
Watching Johnny Lawrence practice Miyagi do with Daniel was the closure this 80’s kid never thought he needed. Just wow that scene gave me goosebumps
The Eli beating Robby point was exactly like how Johnny scored the point against Daniel after the pressure points.
Oooh that'd do him dirty...I like it lol
Don't forget that girl Daniel saved in the typhoon from KK2 is still there.
something i noticed is that when Johnny is sparring with Daniel before their double knockout he kicks Daniel in the chest after they fall to the floor, which is exactly how Eli wins the All-Valley against Robby
A lot of these were reaches lol 😂 This be like "You hear him breathe ? That's the same breathing pattern he did in KK3 when Danny was standing on the mat" 😭😭😭
😂😂😂
Something I instantly noticed was when Daniel talks about them getting into a knife fight in the drive in theatre wich is a callback to ralph machios movie, the outsiders
Does anyone else love the fact that Mitch smiles when Johnny gives speeches?!
So many surprises… I didn’t expect Eli winning however I’m so happy he did. I did see how Terry Silver was going to somehow get rid of his weakness in Kreese. I can’t wait for season 5 and 6. Love Cobra Kai and so happy to see many more karate kids.. 😁😊
I know The Next Karate Kid is bad but I lowkey do want Hilary Swank to make an appearance in Cobra Kai
Low key??? It would be great! Say what you want about the writing in that movie, Swank is a great actor so I’m sure it would be a great addition with these writers.
The Next Karate Kid could've worked if we didn't wait all movie for Miyagi and Dugan to interact.
Great video! I hope Devon gets more scenes in this new season, she's great
PS: that cobra kai discord server is too toxic
I have an easter egg: When Kenny is caught in the bathroom wearing a cobra kia shirt and getting shit for it from Hawk, when Hawk and the other two eagle fang midgets leave, one of them shouts out "I think he's gonna cry". That's a callback from The Karate Kid original when Daniel is dressing for the tournament and cobra kias confront him then yell out the same statement to Daniel.
This channel deserves way more views. Keep up the great videos.
This is by far the best season of Cobra Kai. I hope it still gets even better.
Just a strange thought, maybe Kreese and Dutch can be cell mates.
That’s would be great
@@gula_rata,
I’m sure if enough monetary figures are thrown Chad McQueen’s way he’d reconsider!
Yes
My hope for season 5 is that they establish one Dojo by the end. Forgive me if this sounds lame:
Miyagi Kai
Strike Hard, Strike Fast, Know Mercy
I like it
There was a subtle reference to the mold in the dojo. This was a reference to Johnny's search for a dojo in S3.
Can we talk about how Robby and Miguel's hairstyles traded with each other ?
Everyone is missing that the winning kick by hawk over Daniel is the same Lawrence uses against Daniel in their fight to score the second point. Even though Hawk wasn’t there it shows Johny taught him that and what won him the fight was Cobra Kai or Eagle Fang style lol
He might’ve been there just hiding so they couldn’t see him and then walk up
I love this series cant wait to see the next season.
Robby is most reminiscent of Daniel LaRusso from the karate kid because Daniel also was in cobra Kai for a little bit after they trained at miyagi do
One small thing for episode 9. Despite Eli making the semi finals 2 times now, neither match was completely and ended on technicalities.
A while back I told all y’all that Cobra Kai was going to win the tournament. I am back today to say I told you so lol. Love the video bro.
kennys username in the dungeon lord game is kennythejet is a reference to benny urquidez, a kickboxer whos nickname was also The Jet
I think it’s cool how your words matched her mouth movements! 🤩 1:54
You missed a reference!
At 24:20, Robby did a jumping splits kick, which is Jean-Claude Van Damme's signature move that he uses in every movie!
Chozen coming back was like a Mack truck hitting me and that I was very happy to be blind sided by. Awesome!
Sidekicks was also referenced in season 2 at the Cobra Kai Valley fest demo when Johnny breaks the cinderblocks that were lit on fire. You heard it here first.
Fun fact: silvers hair is not white from age but from the paint on his head😂
Did you know Lia is an anagram of Ali?
If you think.. everyone has been in miyagi do and cobra Kai except Sam and Tory. Sam was always in miyagi do and Tory was always cobra Kai.
Could you make a video on Silver's progressive journey into madness shown by notable moments like the piano?
Damn, great job man… I’ve watched a bunch of these type of videos in the past handful of days, and you mention all sorts of things that I’ve not seen come up in any other video. 🤘🏻
Kenny’s demon smile 😈 legit scared me after beating up Anthony LaRusso. I’m interested in their arc next season for sure
It was fascinating. It completely changed the shape of his face. You could truly see his transformation as a character.
I wish there was more Miguel this season
Yeah, which is wierd to me. I assumed the story was about Sam and Miguel, but they started going toward Kreese, Daniel and Johnny's rivalry in season 4.
At 12:50 you mention Hawks purple hair. I think this is a star war reference. Blue lightsaber was the light side, red the dark side. The only one who used a purple lightsaber was Mace Windu who was a reformed sith.
The “I’m coming for you.” Line is also an homage to another Sylvester Stallone character: Rambo.
Man, you are really good. Excellent job with this breakdown. I love it!
Just saying but Hawk needs to get his Mohawk back
Also red and blue make purple which all colors hawk had on his mohawk
Nah he moves likes a grappler and I like his stance with short hair. He looks more serious and imposing
I want hawk with Johnny
@@brianpasillas1358 he is, Johnny and Daniel are working together. So Eli is with both of them
@@vikavoltisepic3507 there working together in season 5
When Miguel brought Johnny to the bed. Somehow it reminds me to Walter calling Jesse after Flynn brought him to bed but in opposite direction
You left the part out about Tori finding out that her win was tainted, when she found out the referee was compromised when she saw Terry Silver paying him off.
Ya I literally cannot wait to see where that thread goes.
How much im happy when stryfe post is like when the first time I watch cobra Kai.
I wish Aiesha Had More Scenes but it's so great to see her character return
Don’t you guys think that when Hawk knocks down the wall is a bit like when the Berlin Wall was knocked down to unify the east and the west?
Jim Ross👍
That Hawk and Hawk reference was nice. I didn't catch that while watching.
I really want Chozen and Robbie to meet cause their stories are fairly similar
You missed Daniel and Johnny looking like Ryu and Ken with their gi
I really hope they can get Hillary Swank for season 5, it'd make sense to have two more Miyagi-do senseis show up since Daniel can't directly teach anymore
Ya I was wondering if that’s where all this was going in part with the girls’ division. What if she showed up and started an all girls dojo???
Anybody else think that Anthony LaRusso is a complete sociopath? He shows some signs of regret for bullying Kenny, but I'm not really buying that he stopped because he learned his lesson. He just figured out that it was more advantageous to behave so he wouldn't be grounded anymore.
DAMN...
You found EVERY Easter egg.
Good job!
7:56 I miss that car
Excellent breakdown bro! Good job.
I’m glad stingray returns. He’s funny
looks like Silver had a fun time beating him to a pulp.
@@gula_rata I’m sure he did
Crazy to think season 5 is already finished filming. Hopefully we won’t have to wait another year for it to release
it should be here later this year
I would personally love where if each time Daniel tries to do something involving the old movies like doing a miyagi saying it would cut back to when mr miyagi said it
Beautifully done Stryfe! Keep it up
Saaameee... i also missed that aisha was there, it defiently wasnt a whole entire sequence
Also Eli used the same move Johnny used to score a point on Daniel when they spared to beat Robbie
The Daniel is the real bully video is legendary
GREATTT VIDEO even tho this was a cpl months ago watched it today and well all i can say is this is a epic video
“Quit ur job if u have to”
I love Hawk. I would have bought the redemption arc for him if he hadn't broken Demitri's arm. If it had been an accident? Sure. But he did it on purpose! Like Demitri's parents would have allowed thar friendship to continue. Not.
With a shout out to Good Ol JR... I like your cut G
19:53 reminds of when Mike Barnes is deciding if he should hit the girl and it’s the same kick I think.
Kenny's username on Dungeon Lord is Kennythejet99. A clear reference to the legendary full contact karate fighter, kickboxer, boxer, and actor Benny 'The Jet' Urquidez.
The things I noticed that the taking off of the gee symbolizes the end of strict adherence to tradition and forging one's own path
Cant wait for season 5 , yep lol I can see that!!!
Not only does Sam perform kata to focus (like what Daniel does with Seiyunchin in III), she also employs several techniques from a number of Shuri-te kata (namely Passai sho and either Chinto or Shito-ryu's adaptation of Rohai)
The weird thing Cobra-Kai has done with its kata?
I liked how Devon did the same kick as Jhonny in KK1
Thank you for making the Road Warrior Hawk reference. I was hoping one of the two guys who make constant wrestling reference would point it out in the show. Missed opportunity.
When the Season 4 Trailer of Cobra Kai teased changes to the All Valley Tournament, I was totally thinking of Bloodsport and a Full Contact Tournament.
