Those MASS sounders have a very particular sound when you hear several at a time in 800Hz. Years ago, my elementary school had MA sounders with double projectors on them in all the hallways, all set to 800 hz and continuous. That wail was unmistakable.
Hey Andrew, have you ever considered going all-Commander and getting a Gentex sync module? Even the Commander1 is compatible, and the Code 3 isn't painfully slow. I think it'd fit a Notifier system well.
Have a sync module already, when I had the SHGs they actually synced up to the Commanders, because they have the "Z" type strobe which was capable of sync. I just got bored of the SHGs and wanted to mix things up a bit, is all.
I know this comment has nothing to do with this particular video but is there any way to wire an old fire box so that it can be used as a coded pull station? I thought that out of everyone, you would know.
+NewAgeServerAlarm Yes. It's a Gamewell Masterbox from 1924, code 713. It has three terminals inside and when I attached wires to two of them and to a horn, a bell inside the box would activate and stick causing the batteries I used to overheat.

I would really appreciate if you could help me figure it out, I'm kinda new to this fire alarm thing.

I doubt you have it bad..... My school has System Sensor MASSes on continuous and gentex gx90 horn strobe (I believe)on continuous in the hall that leads to the gym and we have gentex Commanders code 3 horn in the gym and the band room
I take it you aren't gonna use electromechanical horns for this anymore? You said you wanted to protect rare and valuable horns from damage and electromechanical horns are getting increasingly rare (and your ES and MS can speak to that)
Yeah. the System 500 panel for some reason can't handle those horns either. Also bad news, my elementary and middle schools got upgraded this summer. Now siemens voice evac in both schools.

Only SHGs with a "Z" series strobe. You can tell by if the model number has a Z on the end. For example SHG-241575WRZ ... or GMS-24110WWZ

I did some searching on the internet. I think the alarms were a simplex 2901-9838 on a 4903-9101 light plate. still trying to figure the pull station
2903-9001 for the light plate. Probably a Simplex 4251-20 pull station. As for the horn, have to see what it looks like.
