0:37. For those outside the British Isles, a "banger" is slang for a sausage. For example, there's a dish called "bangers and mash", which is some sausages and mashed potatoes. And Primus _definitely_ would make a song called "Bangers and Mash" if they were British.
Everyone talks about Les, but no one ever talks about Larry (guitarist). It takes a LOT of humbleness and skill to be the "background" instrument in a power trio, especially when the background instrument in this case is the guitar.
Sometimes it feels like Larry just plays anything he feels like, doesn't have any direction. I think he struggled tbh. Primus is ok. Les Claypool can't write songs but is an incredible bassist.
I love primus so much. I wish they were bigger aside from everyone just 'knowing' Claypool, but I also like that there's a smaller fanbase thats in the know, similar to Phish.
I've regularly been surprised and reminded of this when I start talking about Flying Frog Brigade or something like his Death Grips feature with primus "fans" and they don't know what I'm talking about
Great video! I love how you avoid the cliches of "chocolate cake" and "peach syrup", and add in some new clips of Rosen that I haven't seen in other vids (I love what you did with "My Name Is Mud" xD) You missed Miscellaneous Debris and Animals Should Not Act Like People though. Still, a great video overall, 9/10
i never thought i’d see Michael Rosen connected to Primus. i love this though lol i remember watching this guy edited into youtube poops in like 5th grade, it’s weird to see him again
What I like about these is that it gives me a good indication to what albums to listen from these bands. For example, if I get a "and I couldn't stop myself and I heghtttchta" I gotta listen to it. But if I get a "There's no need to yell" then I might skip that one.
i've never listened to a single primus song in my life and didn't even know who they were but i saw this in my recommended and i had to have more michael rosen in my life
idk if u want to considering their discographys pretty small, but given primus`s guitarist ( idk if he`s still there) but perhaps a possessed description would be possible?
There are certainly fantastic standout tracks like “Lacquer Head” yes, but as a whole album though I don’t think it works super well. Still way better than that Chocolate factory album tho.
Wait… The general consensus for Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory is a bad album? Golden Ticket, Pure Imagination, and I want it Now are fucking BANGERS.
worst possible outcome: the video is like 5 seconds long and michael is just saying "actually, it was horrible" with all of their album covers in the left half of the screen
I'd like to think no one told Michael to get in the mud, they just found him in there and started rolling
"here we can observe the children's author in their natural habitat, what a remarkable sight indeed.."

I'm honestly shocked they've not made an album called Bangers and Mash yet.
the boys love a good british impression when I yell "BANGERS N' MASH!"
Banger can also be used as a verb ie My name is mud is an absolute banger!
Primus sucks! 😘
OI THATS RATHER BULLOCKS INNIT 🦷🦷🦷🦷🦷
the Primus lineup were in a band called "Sausage" so that ticks that box
Everyone talks about Les, but no one ever talks about Larry (guitarist). It takes a LOT of humbleness and skill to be the "background" instrument in a power trio, especially when the background instrument in this case is the guitar.
Yeah. And Tim Alexander keeps the rhythm intact well with his drumming.
Really? I feel Herb is the most underrated out of the trio. He does an amazing job at drumming.
@@Googus1 Larry is underrated too, not only is his role in Primus very humble, but he also helped invent death metal (with Possessed)
@@davidnissim589 Yes but I feel as if even Ler is talked about more than Herb. He can play the coolest stuff ever and so can Herb

My dad got me into them I've been going down the rabbit hole for like 2 years now. 'Knowing' Les is not enough I'm so glad I've gone deeper
I haven't listened to much Phish, but there is actually a one-album super group that had members from both bands: en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Oysterhead.
Hell yeah. Im going to see them in september when theyre doing the Rush tour
I've regularly been surprised and reminded of this when I start talking about Flying Frog Brigade or something like his Death Grips feature with primus "fans" and they don't know what I'm talking about

Didn’t count those albums for the video. Thx for the feedback
Oh man, I didn’t even notice any were missing, and I _love_ Animals Should Not Try to Act Like People!
Les Claypool, one of the best bass players in the world.
i will not take antipop slander
Greet the sacred cow is top 10 primus in my opinion. Antipop has some weird overtly long stuff, but it's got gems like the rest.
Antipop is my second favorite album of theirs, the first obviously being Pork Soda. It's a close call though.
Pork Soda is by far the most accurate representation on this channel
Brown album, sailing the seas of cheese, pork soda and tales from the punch bowl were accurate.
0:45 Dancing Round The House Like NATURE BOY!!
That's from Pork Soda, dude.
The Green Naugahyde one was absolutely fucking perfect.
The Sailing The Seas of Trees One was pretty accurate imo.
I'm happy you included Suck On This. Very nice live album
I listened to Primus and the chocolate factory, and tbh, I liked what I heard, but I do respect your opinion on disliking it
agreed, i'd love to see a reedit of the movie with the primus score instead of the original
That album and the rainbow goblins one represent psychedelic trips and aren't intended for sober reckoning
It’s about damn time, I also completely disagree with Primus and The Chocolate factory that album is amazing
Agreed!
I was about to say, I listen to their rendition of Candy Man daily ^^
It’s catchy. Larry also gets to sing one song as well
the way “ladies and gentleman, boys and girls, the chocolate room” is delivered lives rent free in my head
i never thought i’d see Michael Rosen connected to Primus. i love this though lol
i remember watching this guy edited into youtube poops in like 5th grade, it’s weird to see him again
sailing seas of cheese and green naugohyde good
I WILL NEVER FORGIVE MICHAEL ROSEN FOR WHAT HE SAID ABOUT CHOCOLATE FACTORY
I was literally play my name is mud while my name is mud came on for a half second, I feel so proud
green naugahyde is in my top 3 primus albums 😭😭
Thank you for making this.
This is how I find out about Conspiranoid? :o
Not the new episode we needed, but the episode we wanted
The Antipop is unironically my second favorite Primus album.
It’s growing on me
Is your first Pork Soda?
@@jonnycarcano First has gotta be Tales From The Punchbowl
All of these quotes could genuinely be Les Claypool lyrics and I love it
I'm a primus fan and this is what I'm going to show people from now on when they ask me to describe what music I listen to
You're so edgy
@@NewBeginningNewCreation No I'm Wierd
Looked at my recommendations, saw Primus, and immediately had to watch!!
I love Primus, and one of my fav. albums is Tales from the Punchbowl (1995).

The album after Pork Soda Is Tales From The Punchbowl.

frizzle fry is one of the best albums ever made
I'm starting to think he's the fastest in the land
I didn't realise that Michael Rosen was Worsel Gummidge!!
Only reason I know about primus is because of rush, I haven’t even listened to any of their songs it just showed up in my recommended
What the hell is Michael Rosen doing covered in mud in the middle of the woods?
i've never listened to a single primus song in my life and didn't even know who they were but i saw this in my recommended and i had to have more michael rosen in my life
I bet you have listened to at least one.
The intro to Southpark is a Primus song.
If it has Michael I'll watch
I only got Suck On This, Frizzle Fry, Pork Soda, Tales From The Punchbowl, And The Fungi Ensemble. The rest I don't understand
Hell yeah, I love Primus. Absolutely hilarious
Where the Miscellanious Debris at
Didn’t count that for the video
If you ask me Conspiranoid is the best thing they’ve done since Pork Soda
Ha! Love it. Just saw my very first Primus concert last year. It was amazing. Oh and also, they suck. 😎
Same I saw them in SLC and it was amazing. Primus Sucks!
Primus sucks is a stupid saying wannabe fans keep repeating
@@Monkforilla Les is literally the person who made the saying lmfao

i want to see one of these videos to be made about fishmans, that would be real interesting.

I don't even listen to Primus but this is hilarious (all I know is My Name is Mud)
What was the clip at 0:29 from?
The song, or the clip? I don't know what the clip is, but I know the song is My Name Is Mud.
Wym “no-no-no-no-“
who can take a sunrise
Les rap and play bass at the same time and he makes wierd basslines
I listen to Primus and have no clue what the hell he is talking about??
Primus is one of my most favourite bands
Bruh you get to hear Larry sing on an album and you still think it’s bad?
What's so bad about the chocolate factory adaptation?
Thought it was VERY unnecessary and went in too weird places even for my Primus tastes.
@ElliYeet oh I loved the movie a lot so I really liked the album
I won’t stand for the Chocolate Factory hate

I kinda liked primus and the chocolate factory actually

Not a fan of the Willy Wonka album huh? Aside from the Candyman cover, nothing really stands out to me on that album
Yeah I think it was a bit of a butchering.
Animals should not act like people?👀
Antipop is definitely their worst.
Because it often sounds like other bands, and not primus.
