Thank you you little god
Your the hero we don’t deserve but need anyway. ❣️😊
Thanks!
I dont find the stamina bar a bad thing, it made me feel weaker and human, i liked that
"It's a game we wanted to play, so we made it"
That beautifully simple philosophy is how you create masterpieces.
Blizzard philosophy today is "What will make us the most profit?"
That simple philosophy is how thousands of game studios have gone broke. What you experience here is survivorship bias. It is a good way to start but in no way a receipt for success.
@@samsondaniel399 GGG philosophy today is "What will make us the most profit?"
just like MetallicA say "we make the music we wanna hear"
@@Zazu1337 you couldn't possibly be more wrong
what a beautiful thing to see theese people on a stage at Exilecon
... wearing "Blizzard" shirts :)
@@p0ma147 wearing Blizzard North shirts. The good old Blizzard... nothing to do with the new blizzard from today
Right ? I wanted to hear them speak more freely, the questions kinda felt limited, I wanted to hear more from them on ppoe an ARPGs in general.
@@Vidh_ The real Blizzard, before the real Blizzard died.
David Brevik. For some reason, I hugely respect this guy. Have watched every video I have found with him. Unique gem for us devs.
The feelings it must give for Path of Exile devs when you have those 3 figures saying that Path of Exile is a true successor to Diablo
@Elsa Debroglie Bullshit. It does carry on its legacy. Diablo 2 was about build diversity and loot creating builds. PoE does that much more than any other aprg. Also LOL on you saying it isn't a successor because of pvp. PvP was never serious in D2, it was just a imbalanced mess for shit n giggles that people did when they were bored. There was no reward for it and it was mostly people 1-2 shotting each other. The genre will never be good for pvp. Diablo 2 was no different, people just have their tinted glasses on.
@Elsa Debroglie From what you are saying, I'm pretty sure you have absolutly no idea why both Diablo II and Path Of Exile are such great games.
@Elsa Debroglie lol lets, see should i take your word for it, or the 3 guys who made diablo .....
@@AllGodsDue lmao you aren't a real d2 player unless u played pvp. Diablo 2 was all about creating new builds FOR PVP, not pve lmao. Casual players yikes, actually cringe.
@@dimkacracker Not sure if you are trolling or serious xD
I can't imagine what Chris Wilson was thinking when he was listening to these guys. It must be inspiring to hear these legends praise your work.
yes, money money money, streamer priority
Wasn’t Chris Wilson the director of Diablo 3?
@@arbiter8246 No.
"The ARPG war will once again know the fury of the three" - Archbishop Lazarus
is this an MXL reference?
@@xDarkjoy Nope. In Diablo 1, one of the lore books called "Tale of the Three" had Archbishop Lazrus describe how Diablo was going to free his 2 brothers in the sequel. In the end of the speech he says "Once my lord releases his brothers, the sin war will once again know the fury of the three"
Also Torchlight 2, Marvel and Torchlight 3 alpha Devs
We'd also need the expansion to that, with that one final boss. You know, the 'Matt Uelmen' one.
david brevik is a genius
Its like the mount Rushmore of ARPGs
David Brevik & Max Schaefer are really wearing mint Blizzard North shirts....
im sure they wanted to say Blizzard North is our company because when they left the company started to falling down so fast not only David Brevik & Max Schaefer who bought the company kicked out many talented ppl from blizzard i read long time ago whole story cant remember clearly what happened. gamers should defend the gaming world instead being fan-boy
Those are Blizzard entertainment Tshirts. Blizzard North logo looked very different.
"I really hate the idea that the best way to play the game is to go on the internet and find the best pattern", he says to the guy who dedicates a fair portion of his content to just that. LOL
Irony at its finest
That was a suttle dig at him Imo lol
finally been waiting for this content ever since it was announced david max and eric was going to exilecon
This was freaking awesome. Thank you GGG for this. And big thanks to the 3 gods for doing this.
Awesome been waiting for this interview!!!
really insightful to watch. Rhykker always have that profesionalism and quality in spades. Nice to have you here in the community 👌
Except for the part where he recommended everyone buy Wolcen because he's a paid shill
@@destroyermaker He did recommend ? Recently ?
I remember when he tested the game, somewhere like 2 years ago, and said something like "has potential".
Yeah he hasnt recomended it from my knowledge... He has done some videoes about the game.. in the day of angry internet mobs that is enough.. screw facts - just complain about eveything and put down people if they dont agree 100 % with you on anything.. Thats the new standard... Doesnt demand that much brainpower either so everyone can get in on it..
@@destroyermaker well, in his defense, he needs to eat, and who can guess the servers have that much fuckups when things get bloated? but if he defend Blizzard, then it is a shill ish move IMO
@@mightaziez He was eating just fine before he was paid off to whore out a barely functional game.
I missed this at Exilecon because of the card game so I've been waiting ages to watch it. Was nice to meet you there Rhykker
The Blizzard entertainment shirts at Exilecon is a fashion statement XD
Remember when Kripp wanted to wear a POE shirt at Blizzcon, and was told not, since it was advertisement for another ? Yet other players at the same event had shirts with tons of adds and promotion things on them. GGG doesn't care about them wearing Blizzard shirts.
@@Schmidteren it's all about confidence.
these are old blizzard north shirts though. i don't see any insults here since they are here to talk about diablo which was made by them at blizzard north back in the days
quin had poe shirt during blizzcon tho
Even better. GGG technically asked a competitor to speak at their convention. And THEN he came with the Blizz North shirt.
They have no idea how much respect and love i have for all of them. This was the true blizzard... I hope the d4 devs take some of these "hints" they gave about how to make a good arpg and improve d4 based on it. They said A LOT of great things. Love and respect and nothing else for these ppl. /bow
Such an awesome interview.
Thanks for posting it!
Thank you Rhykker so much for this video and its interview. These three guys are the biggest rock stars in my life and I was thrilled to get an opportunity to watch something like this. Also lots of respect for your interview skills when you actually let the people talk, instead of try to make the show about yourself.
Great job Rhykker. Sitting next to these giants of industry isn't easy!! Hope to see more of these, really really cool!
I loved Marvel Heroes. Whoever cut that game off was a butthead. One of my favorite games after Diablo was Titan Quest and then Grim Dawn. They did everything right.
still miss marvel heros
Titan Quest was an amazing game !
If it wouldn't be for PoE, I would still play Titan Quest these days.
@@manupainkiller you are right, Marvel Heroes was my favourite ARPG after POE. Spent a lot of time in it.
Sure, but David Brevik abandoned MH early on, the game was shit when it launched under him.....let's not forget that it took like a year for the game to "get good", and those were the efforts of the in-house Gazillion dev team, NOT this old bastard :P
The people that made Titan Quest became the same team that made Grim Dawn right?
Been waiting a long time for an interview with theses 3 giants. Awesome job hosting Rhykker !
gold interview. freaking amazing. thanks GGG and
Rhykker
Watch all your content. It’s great and sends such a great message that you can do something you love with hard, work dedication and a smile. Rhykker you da man.
omg that zing at Blizzcon LMAO
yea lool! felt right, shame what activisionblizzard has become.
Right!?
I'll have to watch this later, I've got to get ready for a killer week until the weekend, but I have to give it to Rhykker for working through the live format of interviewing. I, as an actor, who worked with both film and theatre (obviously on the very local scale!) there's a difference between making polished video, and live interviews. It took great amounts of self confidence, quick thinking, and perseverance to improvise with a cool demeanor of heated fervor; when the first two questions, what I think these three legends didn't realize, completely burned through the buffer of what was going to allow the preamble of the Q&A. Rhykker, you nailed it! I could only see the small squirming because I acted and also had to direct as part of improvisation. When you asked the question, and got an honest and sincere...non answer..you already knew the next question wasn't going to find much better purchase, but you smirk, nod, swallow and ask it anyway, and act like Blizcon 2018 (IIRC) should have gone. The professional polish on your....your method....of versatility is truly admirable. Truly! I watch for the edited videos, but you've made quite name for yourself as also being able to rehearse and improvise an professional gaming journalist. The start was awkward, to say the least, but that "least" is a very small note. It is in fact least *because* of how well it was handled and little impact it made on the whole (or so I assume from looking at comments). I've watched about as much as I have time to, but I look forward tow watching the rest over ten minute periods this week. I wanted to see the new upload, and when I saw this, to give it like and comment. Rhykker, awesome job, class act and definitely what I like to see in gaming journalism. You asked a question the panel didn't expect and couldn't answer adequately, and you just kept to the pedigree of a good interviewer, just kept going...didn't falter. Top notch. Absolutely nailed it, and that's just out the gate. ;)
So these are some of the good Blizz guys who aren't with Blizz any more, right? Cool!
those guys are pretty much Blizzard.
That is a bit unfair. Sometimes I think people forget just how many people work on these games. To even hint that low level graphics/audio/programming people at Blizzard are bad persons is just silly. To them its also just a job to pay the rent.
@@pallenda reasonable assessment
They left very early on. I think between DII and the expansion? Pretty damn early.
They left when Mike morheim was still young. KeK.
But yes blizzard up until warcraft 3 and early wow had very few devs still. Prob no more than 100 and d2 and back prob less than 50.
Compared to the fact they now employ what 4000+ people across their games.
There is a reason people joke about blizzard the indie company. They really were at one point.
Been waiting for this interview for months, finally!
"They really love Diablo 2" is the biggest understatement of the century lol
Waited so long for this and did not disappoint. Watching a second tome now
Rhykker that was so cool omg! You did very well! I was watching the show to the very end and it was so much fun to listen to this guys :)
This is brilliant! Thanks for making this happen.
props to these guys. Real honesty and integrity here :)
About time been waiting forever for this interview good shit rhykker
Great seeing David brevik again. Love that genius
i watched all the interview and i realy love how these 3 ppl work and admire the work of others in gaming industry. We played and enjoyed blizzard games cause of ppl like them and now that they are not a part of this company we all see what kind of games blizzard delivers. thank you rhykker for this interview and thank these 3 inspiring guys that makes wonderfull games. Been humble at the end shows that Grinding Gear Games is a game company that respects the legacy of these 3 ppl. thank you again .
I wish I could hit the like button 4times. I love this, as a huge diablo fan and aspiring programmer/dev alot of what they said really hit home. Great watch! Thanks to all!
I guess it's extremely hard and a challenge to bring these 3 titans on a couch!
Congrats Rhykker for hosting this bro!
Awesome interview Rhykker. Super nostalgic to see the creators of one of my favorite games together.
I think the stamina bar is good. It's a reward when you level up and you don't need it anymore. It makes you feel glad you leveled up.
Hats off to them they made my childhood amazing in gaming. Thank you very much for effort in bringing this amazing games.
Thanks for this, keep up the great work brother.
Nicely done @Rhykker i love u for doing this ,made my day to see those Giants of industry talking about everything ..Thank U again }}}}}} I'm so overwhelmed.....
The thanks is to GGG for making it happen :)
FINALLY, i have been looking for this since exilecon !
Before watching i only knew the speeches and interviews from David, but i also like what i saw from the Schaefer brothers. Also the balls you must have to invite (or be invited by) a competitor franchise (Torchlight, i know not 'direct' competitors, because they're largely different, but still) to speak at their convention.
Speaks volumes about everyone involved.
Good job Rhykker, i am getting so emotional watching this ;)
More of this down to earth old school gamer interviews! I saw the empty seats and i wish i could sit there in awe instead! This looked so relaxing instead of the bigger uptight interviews we see on big events like ahem blizzcon.
Rhykker , thanks for the content!
Finally the interview I've been waiting on. Three gods of ARPGs. Talking about their passion for video games and it shows in the games they have made. Also glad the decided to change Diablo from turned based to the way we now know and love
could not be long enough!
love tou guys!!
They nailed the respec conversation!
Interesting that Schaefer's Hammer and Civerb's Cudgel both wore Blizzard shirts for this interview
Well they don't work there anymore but they represent the old Blizzard, Noone can take that away from them
It is because they make up the true BLIZZARD !!
ancient uniques ;) haven't seen a shirt like that in a long time
??? So they have things on the backs of their shirts? I get now that their names are the basis for uniques in the game...
Cool.
Finally! I was worried that this would never see the light of day.
About fucking time. It's absurd it took them so long to get you this.
Wow, just wow! So many legends on one point! Would have a talk with them too!
how big is Rhykker, somehow it looks like Frodo interviews Gandalf Legolas and a balded Aragorn
Dude.
His personality and following are ginormous ^^
The north remembers! Blizzard is in trouble right now we need you guys back. :)
Great interview!
At last. Will watch it tomorrow morning!
This is so awesome and genuine. Respect to all the Blizz devs here
Caught it right when it went up.
wow this is a great video. thank you rhykker
I just want to hear more of these guys talk, this is not long enough, I really wanted to see more of their thoughts.
Thank you Rhykker for doing the interview, i thought everyone a little awkward when first on stage, maybe settle them down a bit with so they feel a bit more relaxed, my only criticism, i loved it they opened up and were honest about how there games got started and the problems they had, can you ever see something like that honesty at Blizzcon? There are some good lessons here for Activision / Blizzard, be honest with us gamers and we will love it.
When they said they lost all the artwork, assets etc from D2 and therefore would have to build it all again to remaster, i thought what a perfect project for them all, and i think they underestimate just how much help and backing they would get from everyone to do that. It would be the perfect swansong for the founders of ARPG's.
The fck are you talking about, their awkwardness isn't rhykker's fault.
These guys need to make a new arpg. Pleaaaassseeeeee!
Amazing interview! Definitely going to check these guys current games. Great job RhyKker.
There's an old saying in life that you only get one kick of the ball, and kudos to these guys they've had their kick
at last was waiting for this for some time
Diablo 2 have more love from all but Diablo 1 will be always in my heart still playing it from time to time to fill my nostalgia. its quick simple and fun.
Check out some of the mods for it ! Can add some new fun like a necro in d1.
@@nobingnobs8748 Agreed. If you love Diablo 1, you absolutely must check out Belzebub for singleplayer and Tchernobog for multiplayer. These are outstanding mods.
These guys are great and it's the reason why they created games that are set apart from others. Fun Factor was and is the greatest thing you can offer, I miss devs with this kind of vision.
These guys right here... they so get what having fun in video games is all about!!! Amazing comments and insight here.
The chat gem allows you to make colored text if you input a secondary code to enable certain colors which also requires the use of the ascii codes (hold alt); One of them was the y with the : above it and (lower case r). The 3rd key determines the color within a specific set. I was able to use the ! command in game to put a speech bubble above my head and type in blue text [Blizzard Admin] as a joke to spoke people into thinking I might be some kind of employee.
Battlenet chat was the core of community for diablo1 and diablo2. EVERYONE who was playing the game hung out in bnet chat to share common things within the game without ever having to leave the game or download outside programs like discord ect today..... this is a missed oportunity for newer games to grasp hold of. I ABSOLUTELY HATE having to download outside platforms like discord etc to communicate between friends I play with in game. DIABLO4 I think needs to bring back something like bnet chat.
Good old real blizzard north guys ! very great interview ! thanks GGG !
The Blizzard Shirts ;) Great!
Nice interview. Took you a while to release though :)
Finally, damn what took so long?
Wow! This was awesome!
This was super awesome!
Finally, love you rhykker
the legends of diablo game!!! =)) thanks for uploading
Erich, Max and David. Baal, Mephisto and Diablo in the flesh :)
I was looking for this interview for like a month since poe con
Dude the interview is so awkward,i love it.True nerds talking to nerds.
It is quite uncomfortable and awkward, but nice to see the people who helped bring in this genre of games.
if you think this is awkward, god help your soul
Still way better than scripted staged ....
@@ccgb92 it is awkward, the laughing, the heavy breathing, they clearly are nervous. These are not lessening their accomplishments or mean they are not good speakers generally. It's a natural and good interview and it's awkward as it should be in this scenario.
It wasn't that awkward actually, E3 and other conventions was far worse.
Back to the roots. Hopefully it's a creative success.
In 20 years my Bot will still be doing Baal Runs
LOL !
I hope these guys know that when they made diablo 2 they shaped our lives that game made a huge impact on everyone
these guys are legends
**All Hail David Brevik, All Hail Daddy Diablo and the other Prime Evils!**
Awesome atari 2600 easter eggs, Love it. I had a 2600 and I remember this stuff.
i hope they all get together and make a new game gg and them
Long live Diablo 2 and Path of Exile!!!
I really wished someone would've asked if the three of them would team up again and make one more badass gritty, grim ARPG just for old time's sake.
i mean how about joining ggg?its going to be fucking cool.
I genuinely had a good laugh every time they answered "stamina bar" :D
I hope you know how lucky you are being shoulder to shoulder with the creators of the Arpg genre. I'd go full emo if I had the same chance. I remember watching your first interview with David Breivik and I said to myself "wow, we serious now". This is a little bit after you had grown your channel to be more popular. But sitting next to these guys in person?
How did you achieve that?
I'm very happy
Dude, it was a dream. One of my best memories.
