😁😆😅🤣😂😄😀Watching something like this makes you realize how poor some of us are right?...lol 👍
On the one hand.. these buildings look so nice!
On the other hand.. eat the rich.
you might not believe me,but everytime i try some newer expensive gadget or a car maybe,it feels like using a cheaper alternative is more fun and more engaging in a way,i dealt with rich people and seeing how they live is kinda boring, its too perfect and boring for them, yes money helps no doubt but believe it or not its not the thing that will make you truly happy,at least not most people
Not even you are Poor, most rich people cant afford these places

It’s sad to think that in all probability, this huge apartment will be bought with no intention of being occupied, to be left unused under dust sheets until it is sold in few years time 🤷♂️ Property markets have got very weird.

This channel is so underrated!
For some reason 432 Park Avenue building's minimal aesthetics stands out as the best every time. Even when the all mirror sculptures are visually more stunning.
We agree - it's the winner on Billionaire's Row.
EE DESIGN I don’t know why but I prefer Central Park Tower and 111W57. 432 Park Avenue looks to simplistic.
The interior is outdated though, if you have seen floors other than the penthouse then it isnt worth it
BOBOBOSS Im an architecture student and I think Central Park Tower is a total mess. While 432 park ave and 111w57 have one or a few great ideas and execute them well, Central Park Tower looks like a garbled mess designed by hundreds of people with no cohesion.
I agree that it looks cool. But 53W53 just looks so futuristic and cool. Kind of a shame that it’s not high enough to easily see from everywhere
Not gunna lie, I think I'd be a little scared living that high in that building. Doubt I would ever go out into that terrace haha
I’d only visit just for the view.
The sociopathology of being that wealthy means they’re likely not afraid of heights either.

If anyone fancies buying me a $200m apartment I'll be right here waiting
We can go halfsies
😆😆😆😆😆
C G hello other me in another dimension
You could live there with 12 people so 16.7 million each.
Screw getting the apartment, I'll take the $200 million. There is sooo much I could do with that much money - even after financial obligations such as taxes were accounted for.
I don't understand why anyone would want, never mind need, 11 bathrooms, even in a 6 bed apartment. They could have used the space for more pool rooms or something else ridiculous :D
Great video guys!
Because these apartments are often supposed to be used for entertaining. So you can easily have 100+ people there at a time.
That's 3.5 baths on each floor. One for each bedroom and guests for parties.
Because its pocket money for them
@@mogul1 I would just have people wet themselves then. I'll provide them with wetnaps and baby powder if they don't want to rash up.
So I counted and... 1 per bedroom (staff quarters included), 1 general one on first and second floors and two on the top "entertaining" flaw. If parties are being had, it's nice for the 6 people living and 1 person guesting in the apartment to have their own bathrooms.
Even if I had the money, I wouldn’t pay that for an apartment. That’s just stupid.
fr you're just buying a plot in the air lmao
Jennifer Bernert Ikr, $200,000,000 just for a nice view of the central park and luxury lifestyle. I'd rather live in my basement.
You’re buying it purely for the view.
R M 200ms for these guys are DISPOSABLE income (DI: money left AFTER paying bills)..in other words, it's play money. 200m for multi billionaires is less than 20% of their income. If you are worth $500-$700ms, you cannot afford this apartment (or can almost go broke buying it), BUT if you are worth $15B (plus) then it's the perfect apartment to splurge on. To him or her who wants to buy the apartment, it's not about how much but about buy it, live in it 2-3 times out of the year, cash out.
🤨 I would die for thus
Please keep posting this sort of content. Bravo.
Buildings for no one to live in. Just empty spaces as investment.

I don’t understand this theory. Surely the building needs rental income to survive/pay off the loans taken out to build the building and maintain it
You're describing China so succinctly.
@@eddiebaker3267 There are places in Africa like that too. Empty brand new buildings surrounded by shanty towns.
The Unknown if they're bought the money needed to build them can be repaid. Plus, these building are made mostly of offices, the apartments are only for the higher floors and even empty the landlords would have to pay charges every month
I hope they have bulletproof backup generators for electricity in the event of a power failure. Can you imagine having to walk down 130 floors because the elevators stopped running?
charleskra Just jump. It’s faster and requires no technology. It’s also free.

Wow, that's strange bc in NY, we are constantly reading about the nightmare that these super tall slender buildings are. Perhaps you haven't heard about the constant water leaks, failing elevators, loud creaking from swaying, and of course the unhappy tenants who are suing. You're right about it being luxurious though. I hope it turns out to be habitable for its tenants
Yeah and honestly, they're in the most boring god-awful neighborhood in nyc- who wants to live in central Midtown?
Yes, I imagine this one sways at least 1-2 feet on a windy day.
Brilliant as always! Could you maybe do a video on the incredible 150 Central Park South Penthouse? I'd love to know more about that conversion.
As a kid growing up in New York City, specifically The Bronx (poorest of the 5 boroughs), luxurious living for me was never huge mansions. It was always top floor penthouses in Tribeca or along Central Park. It doesn't matter what the same amount of money can get you somewhere else. it's not Manhattan. That desire is why people want to live in luxurious condos and if not that, any other apartments in the area would do, because they're in New York. That's why prices are so high, because the demand is always there. However, demand for normal and more "affordable" living is high, leading to the current housing crisis. This has pushed the prices of luxurious units up, and affordable only to the wealthiest individuals.
but..why? the restaurants? central park? what's so special

+Nabeel Hasan. Not always in a good way!
Thank you for not merely addressing what makes the building cool and technically possible but for also discussing the financial ramifications and drivers of these projects. I also understand that with many of these developments many of them are second homes or almost like hotel rooms for foreign visitors and investors as a status property that isn't lived in full time. Granted at this price is think there is incentive to call this their primary home, but I could be wrong.
Anyone with that sort of money has more than one home.
The situation is even more extreme than you suggest. Many of these properties are bought specifically with no intention of ever occupying them. They are purely acquired to be left empty while accumulating wealth through property price increases. In some cases, they are never even fitted out with furniture, because there is simply no point. In some world cities, major new developments like this can expect to be about 80% unoccupied - the building is an asset for trading in most respects, rather than a property in any normal sense.

It’s not just New York. Here in Hawaii we have a lot of luxury high apartments. One was built on top of Ala Moana Shopping center. This Apartment complex baffled me as it was built on top of level 2 where some of the Parking area that used to be for Sears years back, I used to park there when I used to work in town. I was working at Sears at another location part time while also working part time entry level IT help desk at a small company in Honolulu just a block away from the shopping mall. It was how I was able to get free parking, I left my Sears tag on my dashboard so the security thought I worked at Sears Ala Moana. The Apartments complex lists 760 Sq Feet Studio apartments for 1.3 million dollars. I don’t remember how big the other apartments are but I know the Penthouses are nearly 4 million. But even if you were to quadruple the size of the Studio. Is is it really worth 4 million? All units have great views of Ala Moana Beach park and the ocean. There are not many people living there. It’s not because the units are too expensive. They are actually highly desired investment properties where the super wealthy use as a piggy bank to store there money. Banks can’t possibly handle the amount of money some of these rich people have. They have to buy properties to store their money. That’s why these luxury buildings are almost empty. Not many people actually live there. It’s probably worse in NYC. All those lux skyscrapers and lux apartments are not being lived in while NYC and other large cities have a growing homeless population.
I wouldnt want to live so high. It would make me anxious all the time.
Plus you can’t afforded
