Nightwish is one of the best musical groups nowadays. The melodies of the songs are so breathtaking that I can not stop listening.And they're on my mind for days.
I really don't get why so many Nightwish fans look down on this song. imho it's one of the strongest points of DPP album along with "Islander" and "The Poet..."
Thanks, they are indeed good, I' ve known them for long, although not a fan of James' voice (except on Ayreon), but musicianship of DT is stellar. I' m also a prog freak, and I mainly like this Nightwish song because it is more of a punch-y prog power metal-type song. I dunno why some people do not like Dark Passion Play, I, for one, find it more versatile and interesting than Imaginaerum. And lots of Marko goodies, like Eva demo, Reach (Amaranth demo), While Your Lips Are Still Red, Islander, and The Poet And The Pendulum Marko version. ;)

Floor brings more aggression and so much energy, Tarja makes a song very emotional, leaving many of the audience in tears and Anette is sweet and cheery and it makes songs like Amaranth sound awesome. At the end of the day they are all a part of NW so please respect each one.

Floor brings like you have said aggression,different kind of power then Tarja. I would say that Tarja is the Goddess,Anette is the Angel Poet and Floor is the Valkyrie,the warrior. .
Honestly, all of them are awesome. The only problem that any of them have is when they perform an older song from a different singer, their voices don't match the song. But the new songs written for them are truly spectacular.

Well, Tarja is amazing, but this isn't Tarja. It's the second female singer of this band, who took over for Tarja several years ago. Her name is Anette and she recently left the band as well.

I was not a fan of Anette after hearing DPP, but she was fantastic on Imaginaerum with material actually written for her. Scaretale was just phenomenal and Anette showed what she was really capable of with that song. I just wish DPP was a Marco lead vocal album and Anette only came in on Imaginaerum. Then I think people would have been less harsh

I know that DPP is their best selling album but are you sure that Imaginaerum has sold more than Once? I doubt it to be honest... Not that it matters because good sales does not automatically mean quality music. Anyhow, where did you find these numbers? I would very much like to see them.
The older albums had a wide range of songs aswell: Riff-heavy opera metal, symphonic power metal, opera, ballads, progressive metal, alternative rock and gothic metal. It is Tuomas that makes Nightwish Nightwish, not a singer. the song styles on DPP come from him, not from Anette. I am looking forward to a new era for Nightwish with Floor, as she compliments the band very well, which can be seen on their live performances. They're having fun on stage again!
waiting to see if Floor can nail this song in a live concert... she has a perfect vocal range to match Anette and Tarja in her own way, even if not perfect, but can get damn close

A lot of people in this song have commented that Marco should get to do more solo songs; he does have his own band, Tarot (with his brother), which have some pretty awesome numbers, and he is also a performer in another band which does metal covers of well known songs, Northern Kings. Would probably recommend Tarot more though..
