Now I’m going on a hunch here but “preferring recognisable, popular, and prestigious targets” I find it funny how in this document we are reading as William Miller. If you didn’t know, Dr. Miller is the role TheVolgun plays in his SCP readings.
From what I've gathered, SCP-2744 used to be a "bedsheet ghost cat" of sorts. It still exists on the site, but it has been moved to the Japanese branch.
We need recruits who are capable of handling the most dangerous of scenarios, and can both stay calm and focused while under stress. That’s why this test will prove whether they have what it takes, or are just another novice. Better to be a tattletale than a novice.
Neural training software: Accidentally kills new recruits when failing Foundation: Oh no....(busts out another "recruit").....anyway Also a happy new year to every one
Miller should have realized that 2744 was fictional when he could still remember the identities of Radcliff and that other dude even though he clearly saw them both get attacked by the entity and presumably "die".
Heat of the moment. It can be hard to reason through something one was personally part of. But that, I think, is the point. Could he do it? Could he take himself out of the equation and match the known facts with his own reality? Had he been successfully trained to be what was needed?
I've always found it hard to square with skips that say "Oh the Foundation only recruits the best of the best" and two sentences later portray them as utterly incompetent on a fundamental level. This is a running theme in a lot of skips. The ones I'll never revisit, at least.
The Foundation needs soldiers as much as it needs agents. Both have their uses. Curiosity and the ability to think outside the box, even disobeying orders to do the opposite, sounds like the kind of thing that the Foundation would prize in an agent, as well as loyalty and selflessness. Those are also traits that humans do not instinctively or even purposefully cultivate. We lean in the other direction. The Foundation's answer to the problem with a deadline to meet? Grow different humans.
Few things bring me genuine excitement anymore. But when I see you upload new videos, I get genuinely happy because I know for however long the video is, I have a small window where nothing can mess with my vibe. Thank you, I can't even begin to express how much your videos help in my day to day life
This is presumably because the foundation needs information, in good quality and vast quantity. Without field agents, strange news reports and local incidents go unnoticed, and innocent people die. The foundation embeds agents everywhere, to keep an eye on everything and everyone, just in case. The idea of rapidly 'creating' new agents is interesting, because it shows just how valuable these agents are to the foundation, and its network. Great story, great video

This one kind of makes me wonder if Tattletale is a case of the Foundation bootstrapping a real anomaly into existence.
