A friend of mine took his life to this song, and made us all watch this clip at his funeral. So I dont know how I feel about it anymore 😔 In a way it makes me wish sad songs dont exist, because all they do is feed into someones depression and momentarily dark mental state. I know its artistic expression and Im sure if he didnt raise my attention to the lyrics in this song I would feel differently. But with lines like "Happiness weighs a tonne, I could never pick it up" and most noticeable the lines "I dont want to weigh you down" repeated throughout, including being the last line... all I hear now is a suicide song 😔 I truly hope others do not feel the same way as he did listening to this song. Its not healthy, you are not "Chosen" to be free in the stars because you cant find happiness, and you are NOT weighing others down. 😓

I get where you're coming from about sad songs, but I don't think they feed into a person's mental state. Rather, when I'm in the deepest darkest pit of depression, a song like this can be a friend in the gloom, with whom I can reach an understanding without speaking and can cry to without judgement. I'm really sorry about your friend, I hope this song gave him comfort in his struggles, however brief.
For me this song speaks to the zeitgeist, the spirit thats in the air right now or at least its building growing up from the earth below and the cosmos And i think its going t ocome soon a changing of the tides at least in brisbane but maybe wider?
