When they made the playoffs in 2016 I didn't have a good feeling because, despite Mac being a supposed great offensive mind, the O was anemic and doing JUST enough to eke out wins, while the D was mostly carrying the team, and it was clear that wouldn't cut it in the playoffs. Then they got smoked by the Packers and were exposed for what they really were in 2017 when they lost key players. With the loss of talent it became apparent Mac wasn't that great of an offensive mind, and he didn't really coach the defense at all. What a mess this team was, I'm so glad to see things are turning around.

Poor draft picks and reaching on players while knowing the team isn't good enough to support those picks, not rebuilding when they where supposed to, hiring the wrong coaches and gm to lead the way. Fr. We’re suppose to be “the Mecca of sports” and yet this city has 2 NFL teams that can’t at least make the playoffs. Meanwhile in LA the Chargers are a decent team that’s almost made the playoffs and the Rams just won the Super Bowl. Looking back, we were rescued by George Young and later, his protege, Ernie Accorsi. I don't know how involved Wellington Mara was with actual football decisions for the Giants prior to 1959 when Tim Mara passed away, but between 1965-1979, the Giants were as bad as they are now. Reese wasn't terrible but wasn't great. He got credit for being the GM in 2007 and 2011, however most of that team was assembled by Accorsi. The Giants were anywhere from mediocre to very good in the 10 years after Accorsi. The last 5 years....well, the video says it all. I put most of the blame on John Mara.
Reese was good at maintaining the ship, not fixing it. He would do great in cap situations in maintaining who needed to stay and hit on some of the draft picks, which was enough to net two superbowls. Once the team got old and he had to replace everyone, it was a shitshow.

As a Cowboys fan, the Giants aren’t really much to me. The fans have been respectful, we hate each other but it feels more playful. I feel like a Cowboys fan and Giants fan could easily hang out and joke about the teams. There were a lot of Cowboys fans cheering for the Giants to beat the Pats in both Superbowls they won. I feel kinda bad that the Giants have become low tier because now those games don’t mean anything, just a W for my Boys and we move on, it was more fun when it was a toss up who would win. Even my dad, the biggest Cowboys fan I’ve ever seen, didn’t mind the Giants winning.

Daniel Jones is done, between his neck injury that we do not know the extent of and his lack of talent and growth; he's not the answer and the quicker the Giants realize it the better they will be for it. Idgaf about the line, they are bad but we can see a QB's talent shine through in spite of a poor line. Especially since Jones isn't a statue in the pocket he should have been able to elevate his team somewhat by now. He's had concussions as well, the worst injury Eli has had was a cut on his forehead.

I blame a lot of Manning's late career decline on the team management for not paying enough attention to the O-Line. Pretty much from 2012 onward the O-Line was ignored or treated as an afterthought, as Jerry Reese mostly liked to draft the "sexy" positions. I think Jones's not-so-great play has also been largely due to the O-Line , as we've seen major improvement in 2022, but he needs some real receiving talent.
Everything started with the psls and the awful treatment of longtime family owned generational season ticket holders and with that has also gone any resemblance of home field advantage The team and organization has never been the same And probably never ever will be.

So, after almost a lifetime of general apathy and even antipathy towards sports, I finally decided to go whole hog in 2017 and dive into this world. I especially went all in on football, and decided after years of being a bandwagon, not giving-a-crap Pats "fan," that I was gonna follow the team that defeated them in two Super Bowls, that represented the city that I loved ---- The New York Football Giants.
Only for this to immediately happen.
It's been... rough.
I guess the joke is on me for deciding to endear myself to a collapsing team, and as a former outsider, I see this period as some sort of comeuppance towards me for ignoring sports for so long, but I can also say that I don't think I've been invested in anything as much as I have to hoping and praying that maybe this time, they'll finally get it together, no matter how soul crushingly brutal it is week after week, year after year.
Five, I can't wait for the day for the day where they're good again and you can rub it in everyone's faces on Clickbait --- let's just hope it's sooner rather than later

Fr. We’re suppose to be “the Mecca of sports” and yet this city has 2 NFL teams that can’t at least make the playoffs. Meanwhile in LA the Chargers are a decent team that’s almost made the playoffs and the Rams just won the Super Bowl. And it’s not just NFL it’s this city/metropolitan area sports team in NYC in general. As a New Yorker it gets tiring.

Looking back, we were rescued by George Young and later, his protege, Ernie Accorsi. I don't know how involved Wellington Mara was with actual football decisions for the Giants prior to 1959 when Tim Mara passed away, but between 1965-1979, the Giants were as bad as they are now. Reese wasn't terrible but wasn't great. He got credit for being the GM in 2007 and 2011, however most of that team was assembled by Accorsi. The Giants were anywhere from mediocre to very good in the 10 years after Accorsi. The last 5 years....well, the video says it all. I put most of the blame on John Mara.
Reese was good at maintaining the ship, not fixing it. He would do great in cap situations in maintaining who needed to stay and hit on some of the draft picks, which was enough to net two superbowls. Once the team got old and he had to replace everyone, it was a shitshow.
I had row 1 seats at the old Giants Stadium at about the 15 yd line in the upper bowl. Row 1, 2 aisle seats. Price including tax; $28 each.

As a Cowboys fan, the Giants aren’t really much to me. The fans have been respectful, we hate each other but it feels more playful. I feel like a Cowboys fan and Giants fan could easily hang out and joke about the teams. There were a lot of Cowboys fans cheering for the Giants to beat the Pats in both Superbowls they won. I feel kinda bad that the Giants have become low tier because now those games don’t mean anything, just a W for my Boys and we move on, it was more fun when it was a toss up who would win. Even my dad, the biggest Cowboys fan I’ve ever seen, didn’t mind the Giants winning.

Daniel Jones is done, between his neck injury that we do not know the extent of and his lack of talent and growth; he's not the answer and the quicker the Giants realize it the better they will be for it. Idgaf about the line, they are bad but we can see a QB's talent shine through in spite of a poor line. Especially since Jones isn't a statue in the pocket he should have been able to elevate his team somewhat by now. He's had concussions as well, the worst injury Eli has had was a cut on his forehead.
Learn football. He’s a top 10 quarterback and his neck is healed. He puts up elite stats considering he has had the worst o line in the nfl 3 seasons in a row and the leagues worst coaching staff 3 years in a row plus unhealthy receivers.

But we know he is injury prone, but he relies on his legs so he will get hurt again, and we have seen QBs perform in spite of their o-line play, Jones has not.

I blame a lot of Manning's late career decline on the team management for not paying enough attention to the O-Line. Pretty much from 2012 onward the O-Line was ignored or treated as an afterthought, as Jerry Reese mostly liked to draft the "sexy" positions. I think Jones's not-so-great play has also been largely due to the O-Line , as we've seen major improvement in 2022, but he needs some real receiving talent.
Everything started with the psls and the awful treatment of longtime family owned generational season ticket holders and with that has also gone any resemblance of home field advantage

Not hard to figure out what happened, Cam gets his shoulder torn to shreds, Kuechly and Olsen couldn't stay healthy so they left Thomas Davis was traded away. CMC started great but now has caught the injury bug. Offensive line resembles Swiss cheese. Only consistently good player on offense had been DJ MOORE. Fired Rivera in favor of Matt Rhule, who couldn't coach a thirsty dog to drink water
Defense is looking better though.
