6:45 Does that mean my little brother can try out for the women's volleyball team in his high school? At the moment he isn't allowed to try out, even though a male option isn't provided.

This is excellent! Thank you for posting! This is extremely helpful while discussing Title IX in the Sport in America high school class I teach.

I appreciated your analogy and information. I showed this video to my Intro to Sports Management course. Do you have statistics on spending and other funds for Division 1 and Division 2 schools? Although I entirely agree that many schools use Title IX as a way to get around the system and allocate funding disproportionately, I'm not 100% sold that University of Alabama's Football programs should have the same proportionate operating budget as the same institution's other teams, and that's for both male and female. The revenue the football program brings in itself could be a justification to their budgeting. I mean no ill intent to your video as I think it was a great one to show, and firmly believe that there should be an fair spotlight for the schools' other programs.

I appreciate the feedback. There are many statistics available here: titleixschools.com/. To clarify about operating budgets - and I did mention in the video - that Title IX does not require spending to be equal. It allows for some discrepancy between men's and women's sports budgets, accounting for the differences in needs related to travel and other expenses. That said, the budgeting doesn't even come close - and instead, rather than that money actually going to athletes, it mostly goes to coaches' salaries and extravagant facilities. Additionally, my main purpose in creating the video was to clarify that sports are not cut because of Title IX, by discussing not only what Title IX actually and how much is spent on those revenue sports (rather than allocating any of those available funds to the other sports), but also the fact that schools are clearly not concerned with complying with Title IX (and they in fact are not in compliance) - which makes it all the more ridiculous when they use it as an excuse to cut sports.
