I have found blue bulbs are the worst for fading - even new old stock bulbs that are still sealed - seem to fade just from UV daylight or age . I also tried using art & craft glass paints - but getting the right thickness of paint is tricky . …. The glass paints can be set using heat in a low oven - so the heat from bulb doesn’t affect the paint at all .
