So, we got a lot of interesting backstory from this OP: - 00:51 Yuyuko before she committed suicide. - 00:55 The EoSD cast. - 01:03 The lunar invasion led by Yukari. - 01:07 The fight between Suwako and Kanako. - 01:15 What happened when Byakuren confronted Murasa. - 01:22 --> 01:26: I'm guessing Mokou fighting Reisen? Or something else that i don't know... I hope this fanime presents these backstories well.
This is going to be amazing. I thought that Memories of Phantasm was good looking, but this opening just blew me away. The animation, the quality of the drawings, the music... Just wow. Count me impressed. If there's something that I simply adore about the Touhou community, it's how they always manage to suprise us. This animation will be based on the fans' point of view of the characters, and no doubt that it will provide something outstanding. The games may not show us much back-story, but animations like these will give us that in spades. I really do wonder how all this will grow. It has been an extremely long time since I last got hyped for something that much. Thank you Touhou. Thank you.

I had a dream very similar to this video a the scene of the Snake and the boat floating and sailing in the stormy water a few days ago, at the beginning of October. Visions of the future, just like the characters do have in many of the the fictional stories.
I would support a Manpuku Jinja Kickstarter so hard. They may not have much in terms of story, but their work is beyond gorgeous, and I would gladly support them if it means increase the length of their episodes, that way they'll be able to tell a better story like alot of people want

It's interesting to note the differences between this version of the OP and the version in the first episode. 0:21-0:24 was replaced with a shot of Renko and Maribel in a train. 1:02-1:06 was tweaked to accommodate changes they made to Yukari's design. 1:23-1:26 was changed to Mokou doing a completely different attack. I'm pretty sure there are a bunch of smaller changes, but those are the most notable ones off the top of my head. The first episode OP also has a slightly different version of the song, with some guitar spliced in.

No voice acting; it's like Memories of Phantasm in that characters "speak" normally, but then all the dialogue is on-screen subtitles. That ended up getting a fandub, so who knows, so might this.
Guys. There is something odd happening the composers' group. I just visited their website recently. Then I was in a tremendous shock that almost everything is removed from there and later finds out their past records are gone as well. Don't know what has happened to them, yet I am quite sure about one thing: with no movements in these days, the group is less likely to produce a new episode. I heard that they can't even compensate the production costs by selling this anime....I guess this may be the end of one of the greatest Doujin animations....T.T
1:05 - I think the picture should have rested half a second longer on Yukari and her Lunar Invasion host, and maybe the Earth in the background could have been more empathized too... It is one of the coolest moments from canon to me >_
The one with the green haired one is past Minamitsu before she met Byakuren and was still spending her life sinking ships. The browned haired one is past Byakuren before she was sealed in Hokkai. The scene is based on Byakuren meeting Minamitsu for the first time after Byakuren was told to stop Minamitsu from sinking ships.
if I watched this without any previous information I would totally think it was a real anime. But as an avid anime watcher, and knowing that its fan made, It helped me find very small scenes where it feels not as smooth as I would enjoy. Therefore, I will rate it a 9.5/10 image, video, and background quality. If those little tiny quirks are fixed, on behalf of the majority of anime watchers, I will rate it a 10/10 100% would watch and recommend just my own opinion, though
Because they have actual stories written about them other than only stage dialogue. Meaning that they have more character and personality than just about every other character except for Reimu, Marisa and maybe a few others.

Mikihiko Yoshi Actually.. thats the reason why Touhou is popular because of the hundreds/thousand bullets(called danmaku) that needs to be dodge.. The original story is in the game expanded by manga's and novel's... The first touhou game is kinda like Tetris style then Denmaku and Fighting game... I dont know why ZUN don't like an official anime out of the story even though the game run for 18 years.. and have 21 games(going to be 22 for an upcoming game) and 9 manga/novel(few ongoing). All the game, manga, and novel are connected to one story..
