    I had never actually done thus before because I thought it would be too hard, but I tried after watching this and it turned out really good!
    Tip:if you want a two tone bracelet, you can use a different colour for the middle strand. It ends up looking awesome!

    I made one of platinum wire, and melted the ends into tiny beads. The 'tightness' of the slide is critical to making it work well and stay looking nice.

    Thank you! Thank you! for showing how you made the adjustable closure...I couldn't find anywhere else how it was actually done on the bracelet itself!!

    Just finished making one, looks really good! I used brick layers line and it worked just fine, you just have to use a lighter to burn the ends where she used nail polish...

    WOW! You have made this S.S. Knot/Cobra Bracelets so easy for me. I will be doing it with my youth class sometime soon. This will be the perfect Friendship band for the 30th July, 2014.

  • @simpleDIYs
    @simpleDIYs  11 років тому +6

    You can definitely use embroidery floss (what friendship bracelets are traditionally made out of). The knots might look a bit smaller, but the result is still the same.

    Very clearly explained and good camera coverage/angles. Like the clear nail polish idea. Looks much nicer than burning. Good job! Thanks for sharing...this gave me an idea for a different project.

    I get that question all the time! Unfortunately I got it from a random street vendor in Mexico but I've been playing around with wire to see if I can recreate it. If I figure it out, I'll post a video!

    I'm using waxed cotton cord. Any type of thick cord works well for this. I wouldn't recommend using yarn for this.

    66 inches and 18 inches are the measurements for the cords you'll need. Check the description bar for more info.

    I just made mine out of parachute cord, turned out great. The size of my cord was 7.6m that's the small cord, not the big size cord. For my closure I used end caps the ones that you crimp down and 2 jump rings and a lobster clasp. I love it. I'm gonna get different color cords and make more.

    That depends on how big your wrist is. You can always hold the bracelet up to your wrist as you're making it to determine how many knots to make.

    • @mikuenjoyerXD
      @mikuenjoyerXD 9 років тому

      Michelle Soule The twist is fine. If you are using yarn the bracelet twists because the ply in the yarn is twisted. Hope this helps answering your question!

    Thank you for this video. Thus project is so fun to do. I want to try this with some of the girls at the afterschool program I volunteer at. I tried this with yarn just now and it came out okay for my first time. I lost track of the pattern so if I look underneath my project it's missing some boxes lol Also the bracelet is too thin for my taste so if anyone decides to use this method with yarn it is best to double up. So for example the middle tail should have 2 strands. The same for the other strings we are crossing over the middle. So in total you'll have 6 strings but it will be 2,2,2. You would cross them as if there are only three strands you are working with.

      Hamsta i recommend doing ur arms length so like stretch both ur arms out and that’s prbly a good length and then make the bracelet to the length where u want it i wouldn’t make it exactly the width of ur wrist but a little bigger so it’s not too tight
