Such a beautiful piece! Congratulations on finding it. Unfortunately I'm not familiar with the history of shoemaking but I guess the market has reacted similarly in Europe as it seems to have done in America. Do you know what (if any) are the signifcant differences at this point?
In Europe, the differences are much smaller. But in the United States, it’s completely different. No company in the USA produces a hand welted or hand lasted issue. This is the last of the greats.

Your channel has been a great window into that world btw. Even if I were American I'd be too young to remember the times when such items would have been available but I've always had a huge appreciation for skilled artisanship. So seeing or hearing that the market seems to be bereft of this high level is quite sad. Thank you for taking the time to respond!
