I just want to say how gorgeous this horse is, her colouring is so pretty, from the tip of her nose to the tip of her tail.every time she moved in a different direction something else would pop out at me. Fun intro. About a week ago, coincidentally I started working more with my horses about making less assumptions and moving. I’m taking more time and working in more tasks for them rather than stuffing them into a halter and going from point A to B. They are way more settled when I turn them out. Good idea to add some obstacles!
The hustle shows more on her off side? This is the type of learning I'm so excited about. I already ruined one horse by getting way too carried away with the obstacles themselves, or getting too happy with the fact that I could actually make her move (woohoo🙄) and I successfully got that mare to be a nervous wreck. I wish I could do all that over.
Just keep in mind that you are dealing with 2 horses. The right side horse and the left side horse. The "off" side that you mentioned is the more emotional side of this horse. I have a mare that tends to overreact to things on one side but not thee other. Fascinating animals.

You notice regardless of the obstacle the horse is calm when the handler is on the left (primary leading side). She is rushing when the handler is at the right eye. She needs to get used to having people on her right.
Sage is like "AAAHH I think this is what I'm supposed to be doing? Maybe? I thought this is what you taught me not to do?! Whatever it is I'm supposed to do, I'm gonna be the best at it!"
Necessary, every day situation control is, what you teach those horses and us folks, who try all alone most of the time to manage somehow. Pls write a manual, Ryan.
Some trainers (cough clinton anderson cough) are all about hustling horses everywhere, moving their feet until they're dripping in sweat. That may work for many horses, but it doesn't work for all horses. There's a good reason you don't see CA working with Off The Track Thoroughbreds or Arabs for instance. Good trainers understand changing methods to suit particular horses, not claiming they have a magic method that works on ALL horses

Learn what to look for and know if “you” truly are capable of owning and handling that particular horse you’re looking to buy. I know a few people that got hurt pretty bad. Why, because they had zero knowledge and zero training, one had a little knowledge and a little training and one thought she had plenty of knowledge and plenty training. Pride and stubbornness get people hurt and killed. Missy #3. ending up getting knocked down and stomped in the chest. Bad ending! Watching Ryan, I now can see exactly where she went wrong. Looks like when you were in her right eye, she was a little bit more under pressure and not choosing to take her time I work with someone who really believe that horses have a different vision in their right/left eye, allowing them to see further with one and closer with the other Is that something anyone can relate on ? I think we all had a horse that was perfectly fine walking past something on one side but the second it's the other eye looking at that same thing, they go crazy and we get confused I was always told to work a horse on both sides, saddle/getting on etc
i really like your Extreme Trail obstackes. i think each equestrian should have small playground for this ,,emotional fitness, as you said. Nobody will build playground from jumping barrieres or other most common equipment at riding arenas in long therm. Be honest to yourself, everyone is lazy daily set up and clean arena for practise. BUT if you have Extreme Trail playground like this is much simpler to come and work your horse. I recommend it to everyone! 😊❤
She looks big, is she a draft cross? Love the feathers on her feet. You have a lot of patience & calmness. My horse is trying to teach me those traits as well. 😁

Had a riding mule that jigged , when I went to a solid steel bit a roller she instantly when stopped would sand on three legs like an old girl !! It was a heavy bit , it gave her something to think about !1
Would those excersises help a horse thats rushing towards obstacles while jumping? We've been working on relaxation for some time now and now my mare can keep relaxed in standing still, walk, trot and canter. However im not really sure how to go about finding relaxation while jumping.
Hı from Turkey.How can we treat a horse which is too much afraid from her environment and acts sudden turns while riding on so it becomes dangerous to ride because of this sudden turns as she gets frightened .
Why don't you tie her up to a post so you can keep her still and guide her I would want to chase her all over the place Maybe love on her too comfort her a little bit so she sees that she is not going to be hurt She thinks you are going to do something to her Does she trust you?
Rebecca Rorie she's not afraid of him. Maybe watch a few more of his videos. He 'asks' her to do things. Like he said he's trying to control her mental fitness. By asking her to do things and when she figures it out 'herself' she learns more than 'making' her do things. I think we 'say' good girl or praise them too much at times. By doing that we interrupt the thoughts. I feel Ryan is calm and relaxed and that is more calming than constant praise.
