To me, the first chorus is her saying "I don't belong to anyone else but you." And then the second chorus is saying "you want me all to yourself but I don't belong to anyone else but MYself." I know in the interview she said she wrote the first half and second half of the song 1 year apart and I love how she shows that growth in the song. Very very cool guys.
'hang me up on your bedroom wall' ... so busy watching all the small details I missed the huge reference that all the frame are hung up on a wall and they all end up inside them, essentially hung up on the wall after. incredible art. every time. thank you pvris
Video theory! Lynn looks back a last time before going in the building, like it's a place they ultimately had to go. They start off together then separate when they pull the sheet off the frame. When they stand up from their chairs, inside the frame comes to life. They're different for each because it's their fears. Lynn fears a blind love (or past love that is or was metaphorically blinded). Alex fears drowning (or washing himself in what he can't get rid of). And Brian fears nature (possibly death or maybe the reality of things). The sheet covering what's lit represents covering things up doesn't make them go away. In the end, they let their fears overcome them and they become their own fears. Remember? "I'm the one I fear the most." And they don't belong to anyone else except their fears. Also, the only thing you have to fear is fear itself.
I just now thought of the spinning chair. I was thinking maybe it represents Justin since the other members have their own chairs, but the chair goes away in the end when the dancer has her last dance. Maybe the chair was for her, meaning they wanted her to face her fear but she's blind so it never worked.
That's really interesting! I was thinking, maybe the vynil playing is an indication that there's something off about the place they're in, a sort of twisted alternate reality? (I'm thinking about Twin Peak's black Lodge for example) Also, the video being in b&w, it could be that Lynn and the dancer are complementary opposites. Lynn has light hair and is dressed in black, while the dancer has black hair and is dressed in white. Perhaps that's why Lynn feels drawn to the dancer.
Here's what gets me - this is only their second record, and none of them are even 25 yet. They actually still have so much room to grow and get even better yet.
does this show that she is really hurt with her breakup? i feel like this is going to be a breakup album. none the less this song is good and Lynn's eye shift in the end got me.
Alvin Castro It really portraits how much she is fucked up because of her breakup, i know for sure that the album is pure art(even tho that it's not released yet).
The band has said that this album is going to reflect on everything that they have been through during these past few years that they've been on tour. So that includes the breakup, adjustment to spotlight, and so on
Everyone in the comments is saying how this is a song about her break up with alexa but i think it's more than that. I think this song is about the band's struggle through fame and the impact it has on them and she might be singing some parts to herself as if trying to convince herself that no matter how much the public critises them and what they say she will always belong to herself and stay who she wants to be
No girl, it's about alexa at the beginning of the song and then she is singing it to herself, and how now she knows that she belongs to herself and no one else.
This song is so deep. I'm so glad I know this band, if I didn't I would definitely be missing out. Lynn expressing herself through her music and adding that emotional deep touch in them is what I'm always looking forward to in her songs
“I could touch a hundred thousand souls, but none of them would ever feel like home and no matter how far and wide I roam, you’re the only one I’ll ever know. I don’t belong to anyone else. “ The end when she yells this I get goosebumps every time. Their songs are my soundtrack to my twin flame journey 😩😩😩🔥💔
Blown away by this song. Pure, raw, emotion. It makes you close your eyes and FEEL her pain because we have all been here and some of us never get to leave.
I did, however, there's a high statistical probability that mine may not have been a natural phenomenon in response to the music. rather, self-induced. it's drugs ok. geez
I mean, people were saying the same when this album came out, which was nothing like their EP and white noise, but I still loved this album, nothing else like it Sadly I haven’t liked anything from them since. Animal is ok, but too much voice distortion for my taste.
You get my point too. This and White Noise are two of my all time favorite album. Unfortunately, I haven't like anything from them ever since. Hallucinations and Monster is ok, but it's not just it. They don't have this "melancholia" vibe anymore that I used to love from their music.
This song is the definition of being trapped in a relationship. Despite the pain and anguish you cause one another there's no one else on this Earth that you are supposed to play out your beautiful nightmare with.
one thing i love about pvris is how the videos are lynn's vision and story, yet they also show brian and alex. it's clear they are a band and i love that.
I'm just now realizing that after the line "I could touch a hundred thousand souls" there's a kind of snare clap at 1:02 that starts to sound like a crowd cheering as it fades out which is such an amazing little touch if it was meant to sound that way
2 years later and this album is STILL the only CD in my car. Not cause I'm lazy to change it, I just don't want to. If the radio sucks (usually does), on goes PVRIS.
The raw emotions of this song completely express the rollercoaster of finding and trying with your person. The fall, the conflict in one's self, then of course the regret of losing yourself. Lynn did an amazing job showcasing that.
How is everyone else relating to this song? I'm personally relating it to the abusive relationship i recently ended. A lot of people may be taking the song as a cute thing like you don't want to be with anyone. But i hear it in like an angry way of how i felt during my relationship and how much i resented her at times but i couldn't let go
Used to listen to the drummer Justin Nace when I was working at Qmart and he'd be practicing all the time. Just found out about this band, not really surprised he's doing well.
Surely I'm not the only one that gets so many creative vibes, just from their music and not their videos. It's the type of music I could just sit in a room with a pen and pad and listen to for hours on end and get so creatively inspired its unreal.
I love this song because i really relate, like wanting to let the person you loved know that you still feel at home with them and couldnt replace them, but i really love it because theres a point in the song where lynns vocals make it seem more like shes saying she doesnt belong to anyone else but herself. And thats what ive been trying to do for so long, its just really nice.
I love this song. In the first verse she talks about how she loves this person no matter where she goes. "I don't belong to anyone else" meaning she belongs to her lover only. But in the second verse she realizes how toxic the relationship is and ends the relationship. "I don't belong to anyone else" becomes I only belong to myself. She is reclaiming her identity after this relationship. It's so well written and so amazing.
Letícia Cielo Bem isso quando penso que eles não podem mais me surpreender eles vão lá e o fazem, só não consigo entender como eles não tem o destaque que é merecido pra uma banda assim.
I've noticed in everyone of these songs off the new album besides half that there is a part of the song where she is almost power singing the lyrics such as "YOU TOOK MY HEAVEN AWAY" and "SO COLD SO COLD SO COOOLD" and "I DONT BELONG TO ANYONE ELSE" and "NO I NEVER SOLD MY SOUL" those parts always get me ❤❤
Maybe PVRIS is gonna be the kind of band that changes in every récord, i love that, is not for everyone but cheers if someone enjoys it as much as i do.
Love this album a lot of people think this album is to do with a break up she said in that this album was written based on people tryna tell her what she can and can't do with her sound/ music it's not about a breakup but a relationship with her music! Heaven is about her music " you took my heaven(music) away " What's wrong - is about depression not being able to do what she wants with her music " no I'll never sell my soul" Half - being torn with music and going home Winter - mental health "frozen in your winter always " Anyone else - she doesn't belong to anyone else other than the music! " your the only one I'll ever know"
I like how all their videos seem to have a theme and its not just random videos. They keep the videos in line with the music and telling a story; to me it shows PVRIS, is in this for the art, not just to make money. Love you guys!

That last bit of harp (is it harp, it sounds harpy) got me shook. Who am I kidding this whole song, this clip, those vocals, those dance moves, this beat, this music got me shook af. I'm done for today, I cant function anymore omg. Shook.
I am obsessed with Lynn screaming _"I DON'T BELONG TO ANYONE ELSE"_ near the end jesus christ taKE ME AWAYYY
Cat Nicole yep 🖤😇
Cat Nicole yaaaas
Cat Nicole same x10000
That is not "screaming" in the Rise Records family haha; just sayin... Her vocal projection is really good in this song though for sure!!
Cat Nicole I saw her in concert last Friday and when she did that live I was like "whoa"
Very very cool guys.
what interview?
i love this art and just dominant lynn is so attractive
im drooling i didnt expect this to leave my jaw on the ground
Same I thought that lol
she's gonna be pissed that we're focusing on the gay instead of the entirety of the video lmao 😂😂
Angel Garcia it's not our fault that her perfection is distracting
Guitar Autumn he'll yes to that
PVRIS has the most aesthetically pleasing videos I've ever seen.
LITERALLY RIGHT?!?!!!! THE BEST FR IDC SUPER UNDERRATED BUT INSANELY APPRECIATED BY THOSE WHO SEE IT. FKN LOVE THEM SM
PVRIS literally do not know how to write bad songs 😯
Veeral Manek Drums ikr. I love their songs
PVRIS straight up kills! The last cut chorus in this song hits so hard. They’re
a huge inspiration.
The last time I was this early Lynn was still in Paris
Erkut Shaforostov ok you scared me but then I got it so I'm calm now
Erkut Shaforostov wait
Pvris used to be Paris but had to change it for legal reasons
'hang me up on your bedroom wall' ... so busy watching all the small details I missed the huge reference that all the frame are hung up on a wall and they all end up inside them, essentially hung up on the wall after. incredible art. every time. thank you pvris

ImSoLament this is actually a pretty good theory, nice
That's pretty insightful, I agree.

Lol I don’t know why I laughed but that’s true
When i thought it cant get better than What's Wrong my eyes witnessed this masterpiece.
Julia Roj SAME
it's all so gay and all so great

*I'VE FALLEN AND I CAN'T GET UP*
_do you need her loving hands to come and pick you up?_
+Griphon Mythos Fm static?
Your two comments give me life.

DAMN. Huge shoutout to the dancer. That was amazing.
This song is so good I can't even. PVRIS literally never disappoints. They are definition of ART. I srsly can't wait for the album!!!
WorldOfIvy no
Sara Scalzi yes
Sara Scalzi yes
Vexide i didn't mean to say no, I literally pocket typed that ☹️😢
Sara Scalzi yes
Here's what gets me - this is only their second record, and none of them are even 25 yet. They actually still have so much room to grow and get even better yet.

Alvin Castro It really portraits how much she is fucked up because of her breakup, i know for sure that the album is pure art(even tho that it's not released yet).
in a interview with Kerrang, she said she found how toxic a lot of aspects that relationship was.
Alvin Castro pretty sure she said it's not a breakup album but it's definitely in the mix. I could be remembering wrong though.
Alvin Castro break up with who? Alexa? Or was she in a relationship after her and i didnt notice? I thought that was a long time ago:o aw dang :/
The band has said that this album is going to reflect on everything that they have been through during these past few years that they've been on tour. So that includes the breakup, adjustment to spotlight, and so on
Lyndsey, Brian & Alex are creative and artistic geniuses of this modern age.
The vocals at 3:55 through 4:15 tho!! Like dang Lynn!
cries from 0:00-4:58 --- with a slight pause at 3:04-3:06
hahahahaha never related so much to a comment
Angela Gomez YAAAAAS
Angela Gomez hahaha true
this is so painfully accurate hahaha
SAME

Cesar Romo which is good cause Alexa is a piece of shit.

The end when she yells this I get goosebumps every time.
Their songs are my soundtrack to my twin flame journey 😩😩😩🔥💔
🤗
I just want to make out with Lynn
On a more realistic note this song is freaking amazing! Why can't the album just be out already!
I started crying. But This is really beautiful. I've also never related so much to a song... God I love this band.
I can seriously blow up my ears with this song if i'll be deaf may it be bc of PVRIS
This song is so good I can't even. The lyrics, the beat, the voice. I will die in two days.
Blown away by this song. Pure, raw, emotion. It makes you close your eyes and FEEL her pain because we have all been here and some of us never get to leave.
Did anyone else get a really weird feeling in their chest while watching this?
I did, however, there's a high statistical probability that mine may not have been a natural phenomenon in response to the music. rather, self-induced.
it's drugs ok. geez
You aren't alone.I get this quite a lot
Kit Tyler have you seen your gp
Fran Jolley I live in America, I can't afford to go.
its called anxiety
Please don't think that I let you go.
Man everytime I watch old Pvris stuff I get sad because they're not what they used to be. Lynn is also a completely different person.
I mean, people were saying the same when this album came out, which was nothing like their EP and white noise, but I still loved this album, nothing else like it
Sadly I haven’t liked anything from them since. Animal is ok, but too much voice distortion for my taste.

I FREAKING LOVE PVRIS!!!!!!!!
This song is the definition of being trapped in a relationship. Despite the pain and anguish you cause one another there's no one else on this Earth that you are supposed to play out your beautiful nightmare with.
yell at me lynn
same
-svintpvtrick id like that very much
Am I the only one who wants them to sell prints/posters of the final frames?
one thing i love about pvris is how the videos are lynn's vision and story, yet they also show brian and alex. it's clear they are a band and i love that.

Heart wrenching💔

Yep.
Yes
Used to listen to the drummer Justin Nace when I was working at Qmart and he'd be practicing all the time. Just found out about this band, not really surprised he's doing well.
This is by far my favorite video they've ever made. THE CONTRAST. THE ART. THIS IS INCREDIBLE
this band is gonna grow so big one day
Another pvris song I can put on repeat all day long
All the harp on this album gets me every time
Surely I'm not the only one that gets so many creative vibes, just from their music and not their videos. It's the type of music I could just sit in a room with a pen and pad and listen to for hours on end and get so creatively inspired its unreal.

When they were fighting I literally felt a rage grow inside me and thought: “DON’T HURT MY LYNN”.
This might be the most angonizingly beautiful piece of art I've ever seen.
The chair flying into the air at the end is the perfect representation of my wig after watching this video
why am i the only person who's liked this comment
now comments be underrated
Shit this is beautiful. PVRIS never fails to disappoint.
How is this band not bigger?
When Lynn said her studio was haunted I was NOT expecting this
Wow the sound in the end gives the best hauntingly beautiful dark victorian vibe 🖤🖤🖤🖤
Shit that was so good
I love this song. In the first verse she talks about how she loves this person no matter where she goes. "I don't belong to anyone else" meaning she belongs to her lover only. All of Lynn's songs and videos are so hypnotic. People are sleeping on this art.
For now,this is my list.

Brandon Rivera I agree!
Lynn Gunn your eyes are just absolutely stunning
One of the best songs in the history of Pvris.
That snare drum at 3:24 really amazing
I've really come to appreciate the work and thought they seem to put into each and every music video
The choreography in this video is so powerful Ive got chills
Aaaaand I'm dead. They're all so beautiful and everything they do is so beautiful

Minha banda predileta!
I fully respect pvris for doing videos for every song
The drummer and guitarist give me life. And Lynn is bae af ❤❤
This song and music video is SO GOOD. PVRIS does it again, banger after banger. So excited for the album
She always get me
Every single time
Every single word
Every single song
She is not a human she is a goddess
I've noticed in everyone of these songs off the new album besides half that there is a part of the song where she is almost power singing the lyrics such as "YOU TOOK MY HEAVEN AWAY" and "SO COLD SO COLD SO COOOLD" and "I DONT BELONG TO ANYONE ELSE" and "NO I NEVER SOLD MY SOUL" those parts always get me ❤❤
Lynn's voice is so beautiful
This is the best music video so far I'm weeping
Maybe PVRIS is gonna be the kind of band that changes in every récord, i love that, is not for everyone but cheers if someone enjoys it as much as i do.
Seems like you were right!
This band needs to never stop making music
Love this album a lot of people think this album is to do with a break up she said in that this album was written based on people tryna tell her what she can and can't do with her sound/ music it's not about a breakup but a relationship with her music!
Heaven is about her music " you took my heaven(music) away "
What's wrong - is about depression not being able to do what she wants with her music " no I'll never sell my soul"
Half - being torn with music and going home
Winter - mental health "frozen in your winter always "
Anyone else - she doesn't belong to anyone else other than the music! " your the only one I'll ever know"
Just when I think that Lynn can't get any hotter, she goes and does THIS.
literally adore them, "anyone else"?
JUST DROP THE ALBUM ALREADY I CAN'T WAIT ANYMORE :((
I was not emotionally ready for this.
Can't even explain how much I love this song
PVRIS never disappoints!
I cant physically understand how this band is so amazing.
I like how all their videos seem to have a theme and its not just random videos. They keep the videos in line with the music and telling a story; to me it shows PVRIS, is in this for the art, not just to make money. Love you guys!
I just realized how attractive Lynn is??? Like??? How have I not realized this before??
This band is so precious. I love them.
Guys, this new album is so good. This song really gets me. They have such emotional, beautiful, clean, and moving music.
ok ok but s/o for pvris/their team for always using a woman when someone gets into a romantic context w lynn. they make f/f relationships so normal and non-sexualised. bless their hearts
That last bit of harp (is it harp, it sounds harpy) got me shook. Who am I kidding this whole song, this clip, those vocals, those dance moves, this beat, this music got me shook af. I'm done for today, I cant function anymore omg. Shook.
I have loved every single song that has come out so far. This album is beautiful and gives me chills.
Everything about her voice from tone to timbre to pitch to vibrato to rasp is perfect
their music videos never disappoint me
I'm going to love this album. I already know.
this Friday baby
strictlynineties🤘🏻😎💘
the production in this song is like no other, and just that guitar or harp at the end... you gawd there are no words that can explain.
God this is fucking art
Edit: 3:36 - 4:59 I AM SHOOK. YES LYNN SCREAM AT ME MAMA
Khi Arial
Please checkout *Sleeper* by ninanile. I wrote the song & I'd love to know what you think. I hope you'll share it and subscribe :')
this song still displays the strength in her voice the best
I love the instrumental at the end 🖤almost sounds like something that could be intro music to a supernatural/horror tv show
The deep raspiness in her voice gets me every time. 😍
brian and his beard😍😍
I'm so fascinated by the dance she's doing with that girl... Adds to the vibe of the song
