Tony thank god for your meticulous nature and this video. I broke the same orange thermal switch in he same spot and did the same camshaft position sensor delete.
Hey Tony, just a broke vacuum line that goes from what I believe is the Ignition control unit to the intake manifold area. Do you know what size vacuum line I need for this? I think it’s labeled AA in your video.
That’s a bummer. I think all vacuum lines are the same size in diameter. That said, here’s a link that shows the vacuum lines, their lengths (not necessarily correct) and the part numbers: nemigaparts.com/cat_spares/epc/mercedes/1/m/117967/371/14/120/?chasis=107048575
@@TonyLiveTVI thought they were all around the same diameter but wasn’t sure. Does 1.0 x 4.0mm sound about right to you? I’m probably going to buy a couple meters of it just in case this happens again. Thank you Tony, your content has been invaluable while trying to fix up my 560SL.
@@gaberiallo the 1.0x4mm is the most common I believe. You might want to add some 1.0x5mm to have on hand since it’s inexpensive. The part number for the clear 1.0x5mm is A0019973952.
Tony, One clarification so as not to confuse all. The upper throttle body connection in rear, connects to angle port on first thermovalve on outer edge of intake manifold. The bottom throttle body connection in rear connects to angle port on second thermovalve. The upper rear port on rear throttle body is strictly for use for the EGR system. If you mix the two up, your EGR will not operate correctly - don't ask me how I know this........
Hey, do you have part numbers for the vacuum connecters coming out of that valve from 4:50 - 5:30? Or just know what they're called? Namely the straight one coming straight out the bottom? I have a bunch of those which are squishy and breaking, but I can't seem to find the correct replacements... I ordered just about everything on Pelican but they're just barely the wrong size. There's another just like it connecting to the purge valve connected to the charcoal canister and I just can't figure out what they are. Thanks!
I forget, did you clean out that Idle Control Valve when you dismantled everything? And, are you planning to smoke test the engine before you put it back in? These things leak air like crazy...
Everything is new in regards to all vacuum pipe and fittings with genuine MB. I also renewed the rubber air duck when I reconditioned the air flow sensor. I hope I won’t have a leak. If I suspect a leak later I may do a smoke test. Let’s hope I don’t need to. I also did a separate video on reconditioning and testing the idle control valve way earlier in the build. I have now placed that video at the top of the Intake Manifold playlist: ua-cam.com/play/PLQAW1udK_cOggR87AxbNVl-vtyjLJRQpz.html
@@TonyLiveTV awesome! I can't wait to see the injectors and cups/seals go in. I was expecting a much more satisfying 'click' and took several go-arounds to get them to seal.
Tony, I just completed upper and lower intake removal and install. The vacuum pipes I get from dealer are generic white in color. It seems you are able to get the correct color coded vacuum pipes such as running to thermovalves, is this correct? What dealer do you order from?
Unfortunately most of the color coded vacuum hoses are no longer available from the dealer which is where I got most of mine. You can still get a few of these at most sites such as Pelican, AutohausAZ, FCPEuro and so on. They all have the violet & yellow, white, clear and even the black & green stripped rubber hose. Here's a link to AutohausAZ: www.autohausaz.com/catalog?v=1195310&k=Vacuum+Hose&page=1&sortby=r
That's right. No longer available like most of the parts for these vehicles. I've been waiting over a month just for an O-ring (out of Germany). It won't be long and it will be impossible to restore these vehicles. That said, I did find this part on eBay: www.ebay.com/itm/226036314288?itmmeta=01HRFRFX8CV7SRFGRCMW30TGA4&hash=item34a0d070b0:g:1zYAAOSw99ll6vbV
I did this in May and I sure wish I had your video then! Great job, Tony!
Thanks Tony for your great effort!

Tony, thank you for providing such a detailed and accurate video of this. You are outstanding!
Thank you Bob.
Nice work Tony!
Thank you Trevor

Good heads up. I think when I finalize all the connections prior to first startup, I’ll include a diagram as well. Thanks!
