  • Now that the world is starting to open up again I am getting a lot of questions from my students about Art Festivals.
    How to choose which ones to do? How many pieces do you need? How to Handle Sales? How to display prices? How to promote? The list goes on and on.
    I spent many years doing Art Festivals before my career took off… In fact Art Festivals helped launch my career in many ways.
    That is what I will be discussing on this week’s live broadcast of “Becoming A Successful Artist”.
    As well as answering any questions you may have about selling your art at Festivals.
    The live show airs at 12:05 pm on UA-cam, Facebook and Twitch… and I welcome questions during the show.
    I will be going live every weekday at 12:05 pm Eastern Standard Time to share my experiences, and giving my advice regarding what it takes to create a successful career as an artist.
    You can watch the live episodes and replays on my UA-cam Channel at

    i am watching from a small Mayan village 2 miles away from Antigua Guatemala...I am a retired mechanical engineer age 82 still working on line from here ... that is good advice on the brush size issue ...I used very large hog hair brushes to paint a 12 x12 portrait of an actress in guache (if thats how you spell it) about 40 years ago it was quite detailed and painterly looking.) now I am starting to paint again...I find your advice very useful.
    Muchas Gracias

    Oh, I love your work. I studied Illustration. I used to love drawing trees and forest landscapes, but the people close to me would say, "Again with the trees, draw something else. It's useless," and I stopped drawing. Every time I start to draw, I anticipate someone judging my choice of what I'm drawing, so I can't continue drawing.

    This is such a great video! Thank you for sharing. I am just starting out and my lovely husband is gifting me whatever waterproof tent I want as a start up. What do you recommend? He is not shy about going for the big guns right out of the gate:) We need the option for 4 walls based on where we live. I'd be grateful for your expert suggestions.

      I can't remember the brand of the tent that I had, but it was top of the line and cast aluminum rather than steel. Much stronger and much lighter

    Do you have courses on developing your social media? For example, how to set up your background or greenscreen. What social media works and which ones don't.

      Hi Karoll I cover basic social media strategy for artists in my Unstoppable Artist program in the Business of Being an Artist course and Creating Your Plan for success…. But I don’t go into details or specifics of what you are asking because that stuff is always changing. To get specifics you should search out UA-camrs who are experts on Social Media and Video production who post videos regularly on those subjects …and then make sure you are taking advice from videos that are very recent… so you have the most current info 😊👍

    You spoke about the Toronto Art Expo. Was that an indoor art fair? How do you find indoor art fairs that allow individual artists to show work since all I've seen of them show galleries only. The only other one I can think of is The Other Art Fair through SaatchiArt.

    • @timpackerfinearts
      @timpackerfinearts  8 місяців тому +1

      Yes that was an indoor fair but that was 20 years ago… use the worlds biggest search engine to find festivals where you are… google 😊👍

      @@timpackerfinearts I'll have to keep searching, I think The Affordable Art Fair might be something to check out. But I've had good news in the mean time, I've been accepted to show at The Other Art Fair in Dallas this spring. So, should everything be framed? or possibly have a few that are matted/placed in a bin to sift through?
