I bought the C722 a few months ago when it was on sale at the PGA Tour Superstore ($199 USD). Loved it. Forgiving and workable. A few weeks later by a freak accident during a unbalanced tee shot, the head cracked during tee off. I called up TourEdge and after a few questions, they replaced it... with a C723 head! I was over the moon when I got the replacement. Truly a stand out company. With customer care like that, they got my business for the next 20years if not longer. Cult following? Didn't know what that was all about until now but count me in!
I got the E722 similar just a year older. I absolutely love it. I had the M6and Epic Max. This thing blows them away. I tell anyone that will listen to try it out. It’s that good.
There was a time i did not even bother to look at the tour edge brand thinking they were low quality... until i saw the c522 fairway wood. Took a chance and purchased the 5 fw. Despite it being shorter and lighter than i was used to it felt incredible and performed better than i could ever imagine. Not the longest but very accurate... ball finds the fairway almost every time.
Been playing the Tour Edge C723 8 degree driver with the heavier weight in the rear and it has also proven to be quite forgiving. Also have the C723 13 degree 3 wood and the E723 21 degree 7 wood in the bag. Talk about ridiculously easy! The fairway woods have been just incredible. Tour Edge deserves a lot more love than they get.
I switched to a 2nd hand c721 driver about 3 months ago. It had a Ventus red shaft and was in mint condition. I got it for $179. I hit is just as far as my cobra but am more consistent. It’s not a huge “name brand” which is why more people don’t use them. So many people are missing out on great clubs at a better value. Great stuff James.
Get the c722. Got it and sold my ping g425 max. Has a 65s tensi white in it. Got it new of eBay for 200 best driver I've ever owned so hot off the face an playable 9/10 times fairway 7/10
@@creamabdul-jabbar6722 No, you can't. Go buy a new TM Stealth Plus or a Ping g430 or a Titleist TSR for $449... I think you'll be embarrassed when you get to the register and you're short $150. But nice try anyhow
I got rid of my PXG 0800 driver as I was always messing about with all the add weight move weight up the loft down the loft and got myself a Wilson D9 and I love it no more moving everything around
That is the driver I have in my bag right now it’s plenty long for me and I can get away with some pretty bad swings. For me it’s about fairways and it’s a fairway finder. So my Callaway Rouge max sits in the closet. I can’t say enough about Tour Edge as I also have the fairway woods and e722 irons
I’d like to see you play a round with it. I think part of the reason I struggle with driver at times is because after swinging irons throughout the round, I don’t transition back to my driver swing well and vice versa. In addition, if you do run into a bad shot or two, giving you the feeling that you gave away a shot, will that play into your concentration? Regardless, due to my inconsistencies and being a head case, I opt for a more forgiving driver in lieu of the extra ten yards. Currently using the g430 max.
Just purchased a used c722 5-wood and it’s killer. I had my third driving session with it, dialed it in and started hitting 250 yards straight on a string. I think I’ll go for the E723 driver not for distance but finding fairways under pressure. I plan to index and compete in tournaments
Right! And that's not B.S. either but what's really happening since my purchase. I've been told I'm a long hitter, but that diamond face is next level. I get way more altitude on my shots too. @@jimadams5279
one thing I've begun to enjoy looking for when looking for new clubs, is actually looking for brands that are 'under the radar' or that step below the big brands. Tour Edge, Bridgstone oddly enough, Mizuno for my wedges and woods potentially etc
I’m using the Wilson launch pad and I have never seen so many fairways. With my old Driver I used to miss courses not just fairways give me consistency than distance any day. It has saved me at least 10 strokes.
Went through 2 fittings and chose the Tour Edge c722 over Stealth and others. Absolutely love it. Also bought the c722 irons with graphite shafts (I’m 75) and am seeing decent distances and hitting straight. Driver 240-260 and 7 iron 150. So, very pleased and company is A1.
It would be interesting to see you get fitted for one of these more forgiving clubs and then compare it to the callaway that they fit you in. I wonder how much is the shaft and the fit and how much is the head
800 cdn for triple diamond and up if you upgrade the shaft . or 600 for E723 , so 200 right off the top difference , that could make a big difference to some of us
You've always praised the Tour Edge products. I think the fact that this driver is so forgiving its giving you confidence. I'd definitely give it a try. Maybe a head to head with Ping 430?
Got the E723 3-wood a few months ago. I wasn't looking at it, but the fitter had me try it. Unreal how good I hit it. I removed my Titleist 915 3-wood from my bag 2 years ago and needed to gap the distance between my hybrid and driver. Either next year or the year after, I will upgrade my drive..... I guarantee I'm going to try this one out.
Yes sir, you are a golfer. Self doubt, over correction, worry, found the solution, lost the solution and every drive from the TBox is either a nightmare or celebration. That's what I face on every T. Great video and analysis.
I think this is more of a Higher Loft video than a Driver video , higher loft more forgiveness and more spin , more fairways , I personally like my lower loft Driver Tsr2 with a Autoflex when I want distance and the Taylormade BURNR Mini driver when I have to hit a fairway , always a great video thou James , I really enjoy them !!! Thx.
Get a shaft fitting with the Tour Edge. Find something that either lowers spin or provides another 10 yards of carry. Give them your launch monitor numbers and see what they suggest.
Chris would tell you to use all the tee box when lining up. On 12 and 15 you should have gone to the right hand side of the tee box to give you a better angle into the right to left fairways
Great review Sir James. I really appreciate this type of "real world" not simulator review. Let's see what it really does. I also truly feel Tour Edge gets overlooked but most UA-cam guys. Thank You again. I enjoy both your channels
I bought the C722 a year old brand new for $199 directly from Tour Edge. It's much more forgiving than the TaylorMade R15 I was using. I hit it off the heel and it still goes straight down the fairway, it's down the left side, but it goes straight. That being said, lots of practice is doing more for the swing than a new driver.
I recently purchased the Tour Exotics 7 wood due to a run out discounted price. It’s my favourite club in my bag. I would consider the driver in future
Thanks for the review James, as a high handicapper I would go fairway finder over distance every day…. Can’t wait to get back to my homeland to play again, will have to get used yards over metres 😂 ⛳️ australia 🇦🇺
This video is about how you can keep the bball in play with a driver that is going to be 1 or 2 clubs shorter than the bigger names overall. In other words you are going to hit a 8 iron in with the Tour Edge and a pitching wedge in with the bigger name brands. Maybe do a Tour Edge/Mizuno comparison . They seem to be shorter than the others.
a buddy of mine got a deal on the e723 at one of our local courses he got it for 110 some old guy got it in senior flex and i guess didnt like it so my buddy bought it under the pretense that since he just started playing he doesnt swing fast enough for the shaft flex to matter right now and with is slower swing he still hits bombs with it.
I have the E722, it's really fun to hit, and it's absolutely fantastic when playing driver off the deck. I don't even usually do DOD, but I just took a chance and tried it once out on the course and haven't looked back since.
I have always said that I will give up some distance for fairways. Never been a big hitter but have beaten big hitters because most of those big hitters end up in the woods at some point. I'm not saying I win most just sometimes. Thanks.
I personally purchased this club on release and it is the most forgiving driver I have used. I’m 72 and it’s having me enjoy the game much more…..and very little distance compromise
Bit of a driving display, nothing to do with forgiveness of course, looks like 90% speed, very stable and consistent. Always going to hit the course when you’re swinging that smoothly. Best you have played since I’ve watched the channel by miles and that’s been a long time. Well done!
I have been looking at potentially switching out my Rouge ST Max as I am still struggling hitting those fairways. Maybe getting fit for this could change that. This driver was not one that I would have went after being that around where I live, there aren't people playing them.
Hitting fairways allows you to hit greens, when your hitting under a tree or out of the rough you reduce your chances to score well so hitting fairways is absolutely key
I swapped out my Titleist 4 & 5 hybrids for the Tour Edge E523’s. Massive confidence boast to my swing & game. Seriously considering swapping out my Cobra LTDx for the E723 driver. Your take on the placebo effect is interesting 👍👊
TOUR EDGE HAS BEEN AROUND FOR A LONG TIME AND HAS MADE SOME VERY GOOD CLUBS FOR AMATEUR GOLFERS. I would play their drivers and 3 woods all day long and James you might want to try their forged irons as well. I have found them to be a bit more forgiving then other brands as well and they still feel great , and look fantastic.
I agree and those 723 Pros forged irons are just beautiful. How are they to hit? Could a mid-handicapper swing those clubs accurately? I would love to have them but afraid I'm not at the skill level to enjoy them.
I was doing some experimenting with my driver i switched my grip to a flat cat slim putter grip. All i can say is wow my deviation off the target line has reduced significantly i hit 5 out of 7 fairways the two i missed i drove the green and went a little long off the back. Id be interested in seeing a more accomplished golfer like yourself see if you would have similar results. Im a 15 handicap i swing the driver about 105-110 mph i have a Taylor made 9.0degree M5 with an atmos black stiff shaft the weights are balanced one forward one back on the centre track
Should do 6 or 9 holes, both drivers off the tee, hit the approach shot of each. Tally up the longest driver off the tee, fairways hit and proximity to the flag with each. Might be longer 9 out of 9 times with the paradym, but if you’ve got 130 from thick rough and 150 from the fairway with the tour edge, im sure you’re guna fancy the 150 shot 9 out of 9 times rather than the thick rough from 130 🤷♂️
It's amazing how many times when you are reviewing a Driver you manage to hit to hit one of the best drives you've hit all year. You're clearly a good player but cos you you make UA-cam videos for a living your own game suffers due to the time and effort you have to put in to produce quality videos. I personally think it's a small price to pay cos the Plus side is you get to test all these marvellous clubs and visit places us mere mortals can't. Don't be too hard on yourself with regards to your game, keep turning out quality videos and enjoy the ride
Great video as always James. Did you have your driver set to the same loft as the Tour Edge? I think you usually use 9 degree. That could account for the aded distance. I am going to try that driver!
All I will use are Tour Edge, Driver and Woods, I have never used the irons, have heard they are fantastic as well. bang for the buck you really can't beat them. I used TaylorMade for years, these are better by a lot.
Number one driver on the senior tour at one point. Just doesnt carry the big name like many other drivers. Have a couple of friends that hit the 722 and they are very accurate with these drivers. Can pick these earlier models for a song right now. The 721-722 i mean.
I was brought up on the basis that better 250 in the fairway than 280 in the rough. I'd much rather have 120 from the fairway than 100 from the semi, certainly from the deep stuff or the trees. Try the Tour Edge with the same loft as the Callaway, or loft up the Callaway? Just to see...
Just watched and had to comment to say I just might have to try this driver. I'm huge Tour Edge club (mainly High Launch) user because it fits my budget and it sad that basically nobody do reviews of those club. I enjoy ALL your club review but being a weekend hack, I will never buy those expensive clubs so thanks again for this review. I'll buy this one when they release 2024 to catch the sell...LOL.
I'm gaming the Exotics C722 which is last year's model. Absolutely fantastic. Got it on sale for about half the price of a new Ping. I also game the E721 irons which are also terrific.
Thinking descent angle may hurt the Exotics. Higher loft, higher ball flight, less roll out. The Paradym was 9.0 degrees of loft and May get more roll out or skid out based on the wetness. Wonder if adjusting loft on the Tour Edge to match would do much. Like for like.
I always feel like "forgiveness" is a lie. My driver swing when on path can hit the fairway with pretty much any driver. But if my face is open to my path, every driver is a slice monster. A $100 lesson did more for my swing than any driver I've tested.
That’s pretty concrete there. I have had drivers that absolutely did better on of center hits than others. That’s pretty useful for the days that we all have that our swing is off. Esp on tight course(like mine)
@@zekebones34 and I've never noticed a difference in drivers based on where I hit the face. If the face is closed, it's going straight. I went through 8 different drivers over the last 2 years and now just play what I like since they were all basically the same. It's the swing, not the club.
@@davidmcdermott3415 how are you measuring this? Measuring strike point? Measuring distance? Ball speed? Spin? Distance from target? Or is this just the old eye ball test? Because that….is simply unsubstantiated personal opinion.
I purchased a new old stock c721 early this season and I can honestly say it has lowered my handicap( from a 12-13 to an 8). To me it almost feels like the whole face is the sweet spot. watching the prices very closely on the c723. P.S. there are a lot of players on the Champions tour using these clubs.
Cost is big factor. It's $600 CDN or $680 CDN for the other model. When spending that kind of money, people tend to go with better known names. If it was half these prices, I might consider them. Might get one used in the future. Agree with comments - will it lower your score. Would like to see the outcome of using it versus another driver.
800 cdn for triple diamond and up if you upgrade the shaft . or 600 for E723 , so 200 right off the top difference , that could make a big difference to some of us .
I feel your aim line and path are the only things that matter when it comes to getting better at golf. A forgiving club isn’t needed if you put on the right swing and be brave with your target line…I can spray the ball all over the face but because of my swing, I’m safe enough as long as my sim is right.
What made me most curious in this video was that quirking sound at every tee shot. Whas that your back or your shoes? Would drive me crazy trying to hit a golf shot hearing that sound every time 😂
What would happen with distance on the Tour Edge driver v's the callaway paradigm if you set it up the same? So cranked the loft down a bit. Would be interested to see that!!
So that sounds WAY BETTER than previous tour edge drivers I have had experience with. Every single one I have ever tested sounded like an empty beer can! That one sounds like a normal driver.
Interesting fact James; If you're only going to get 3/10 with the Paradyme then you're more likely to drop down to a Driving Iron or a 3 Wood. In which case how does that alternate distance compare to the Tour Edge then ?????
Looking for a forgiving driver as a high handicapper here. This Tour Edge is the same price as the Ping G425 Max at the moment. Should I go with the older Ping?
Tour Edge has good clubs. I have picked up their drivers when they are about 1 and 1/2 years out, at pretty reasonable prices..Only problem with doing that is they don't restock or carry the weights. Also they don't trade in for much. I think the main reason they don't get the recognition is strictly because the only tour players using them are champions tour players, with the most successful being Bernhard Langer. Also they can have an off putting sound. I think they should really look at staffing a few influencers/youtubers like Callaway, TaylorMade and Takoma have done recently. I kind of rotate 4 of my drivers around when one acts up. I am currently using a TM SLDR and enjoying the "unforgiveness" but with added distance over my c721 that is a fairway finder or the Cobra F8+. Then I sub in the ole classic 2007 Burner when everything else isn't working.
I bought the C722 a few months ago when it was on sale at the PGA Tour Superstore ($199 USD). Loved it. Forgiving and workable.

I love how you review tour edge. Most UA-camrs don’t. I have the tour edge hybid because of you.
You should see if the C723 is as long as the Paradym.
Yes…your mindset is the key…your expectations are lowered when you’re trying to stay in play.
I love my tour edge clubs and I saving my pennies to upgrade to this more adjustable driver.
I would take forgiveness over distance James and this driver also looks good
I think when you was testing clubs, and seeing how low you could go was better. As the presure was on to perform. 6/9/18 holes.
Try Cobtree Manor GC. Some of the fairways are less than 15 yards wide.
Forgiveness means where you hit the ball on the club face. Not whether the face is open or closed
@@scottgibbs7235 it's either in the fairway or it isn't. We are talking about hitting fairways, right?
I purchased a new old stock c721 early this season and I can honestly say it has lowered my handicap( from a 12-13 to an 8). To me it almost feels like the whole face is the sweet spot. watching the prices very closely on the c723. P.S. there are a lot of players on the Champions tour using these clubs.
Which of the Ventus shafts did you spec ? You should keep the e723 it’s a fairway finder
Great video and one that just shows that you don’t have to fork out ridiculous amounts to get good forgiving equipment
Bet you don't put it in the bag though.
Sounds like a damn good driver but no one in my area, North East England, seems to stock them to try. Where is the nearest fitting centre?
10.5,,against your own 9,,i wonder if it would be just as easy but longer off 9,cheers Al 😅
That one sounds like a normal driver.
would like to see that tested up against the paradym on a monitor !
Interesting fact James; If you're only going to get 3/10 with the Paradyme then you're more likely to drop down to a Driving Iron or a 3 Wood. In which case how does that alternate distance compare to the Tour Edge then ?????
Tour Edge been great for years and the same incredible performance !
Looking for a forgiving driver as a high handicapper here. This Tour Edge is the same price as the Ping G425 Max at the moment. Should I go with the older Ping?
I would be interested to see the results if you had a 9.5deg fitted driver up against the Callaway
I bought tour edge a few years ago. I worked out they are the Toyotas of golf clubs.
Although the likes of Bernhard Langer use Tour Edge, they do go under the radar. I’ve never seen one one the local pro shops!
