ABOUT US
Hi! We are high school sweethearts from Atlanta, Georgia who decided to take a year off to travel around the world. Together we decided to create vlogs for our journey as a fun way to remember it. On September 15, 2019, we left Atlanta with 3 bags, 2 one-way tickets, and 1 goal of traveling for a whole year. Little did we know, 6 months later we would find ourselves in a nationwide lockdown in India. After spending 5 months in India, we came back to the United States and decided to purchase a 34’ trawler, dive headfirst into boat life, and kick-off America’s Great Loop.
The good, the bad, the ugly - and most importantly, the real and real funny. We’re not here to tell you “how it’s done.”, just how we’ve done it. And that whatever it is that’s calling you - the way you’ll do it is much more attainable than it may seem.
Thank you for following us along our journey!

Woot woot! Congrats on the AGLCA sponsorship! Can't wait to see the Trent-Severn waterway. Also, Kindadians are just so kind! 😜
😂 it was a stretch haha The Trent-Severn is going to be great!
Prince Edward County is well worth a visit too
I don't know if u talked them or not but the boat in front of you is a woodworking masterpiece and his hand-built dory is beautiful. The owner, from Quebec restored the 1924 boat and modeled it after a NY water taxi. We spent a night on a lock wall behind them, somewhere beyond P'boro.
No we didn't get the chance to have a conversation with them. We definitely did admire their boat, it is gorgeous!
We just recently came across your channel and absolutely love your videos! We reside in the Kingston Ontario area and boat the Rideau Canal and the Trent Severn waterway regularly. Imagine my surprise when I recently saw your video showing you guys travelling from Kingston to Trenton. You moored at the same spot we do when we visit the Georgina Island National Park in the 1000 islands. We also travel with our pooch, (10 lbs yorkie-poo)so seeing Ollie on the boat with you guys is just wonderful. Can’t wait to see the rest of your travels on the Trent Severn waterway. Keep up the great work, you guys are amazing to watch and a breath of fresh air on social media. All the best for 2023 🎉
Waiting for your next post. Chop Chop 😀 Just sayin!
Uploaded!
Great cruise and yummy food! Congrats on the AGLCA sponsorship…how wonderful! We are watching Kathryn and Adam’s pup, Kona, and she enjoyed watching too (she gets a little rowdy when she sees Ollie)! I hope you had a nice Christmas🎄❣️ Continued safe cruising❣️
Haha thats so funny about Kona 😁 Hope you had a great holidays as well and happy new year!
Here is where the real beauty of Canadian boating begins and gets better as you go. When you get to Georgian Bay you'll think your in heaven lol.
haha, its been great so far!
I'm really enjoying your loop adventure. Can I just say, thanks for keeping up with the videos. I'm sure its a ton of work, and some other UA-camrs who are doing the loop seem to have dropped off the radar. So thanks for keeping up with it. Pleasure to watch. :)
Thanks Kevin! We appreciate you watching!
Enjoyed your video and will follow you on your journey. I live just off of the waterway you came through and this summer I went all the way up to Georgian Bay and back on my solar electric catamaran. (see my channel for the videos). Also a bit of trivia, the Kingston penitentiary was used in the original super man movie where he fly's Lex Luther into the prison at the end. That was Kingston pen.
Oh neat! BTW you have a beautiful boat! Cheers!
My wife and I love watching your videos (adore Ollie), anyway we always look forward to them. Merry Christmas
Merry Christmas! Thanks Todd 😁
Awesome vedio thanks guys for sharing
Thanks to UA-cam algorithm to suggest me this video. Loved it and like to start watching from beginning. Wish your title start with season no and episode no. so we can follow each episode without missing.
I am surprised you never went up the Rideau Canal to Ottawa. You were at the mouth of the Canal in Kingston.
Some of the best Walleye fishing in Canada is on the Bay of Quinty caught many good fish out of that body of water.
Even if you're not a people person it seems like joining AGLCA is a smart move for loopers and future loopers.
Cornwall is way east of Kingston almost half way to Montreal
Kingston has a great ghost walk too.
Hope ya'll have a Merry Christmas and Happy New Year!!!🎄
Happy Holidays! 🎄🎄🎄
Merry Christmas wherever you happen to be today!
Happy holidays and happy new year to you Bill!
Another awesome video .Welcome to the Trent Severn waterway.. ⚓⚓
Can't wait!
I ran the Canadian arm of a U.S. company in Belleville from 1982 through 1986. Lived in that big, semicircular apartment building you passed on the waterfront. Ended up marrying a woman from Trenton, so the Kingston-Trenton axis is like a second home that I have enjoyed for 41 years.
Super neat!
On your way to one of the absolute top boating experiences on this great planet! And it only gets better as you reach the Small Craft Channel of Georgian Bay on your way to one of the top 10 cruising grounds in the world, the North Channel. I've boated in this area for over 30 years, and recommend boaters lay up in Northern Michigan for the winter, so they can enjoy exploring magical Georgian Bay and North Channel myriad destinations for a whole next summer season before heading down the rivers to finish the loop. So much to see, so little time!
So right! So much to see and so little time! We met a few loopers that were laying up in Michigan and it did seem like a great plan.
Merry Merry Christmas, enjoy were ever you are....🎅🤶
Thank you Christina! Happy Holidays and Happy New Year to you and your family!
Why do you fly the Canadian flag? Does it indicate that you have gone through customs or something?
It's called a "courtesy flag" and while not required in every country is used to show that you have legally gained entry and are following local laws and customs. Every country has different rules!
while passing Belleville, a stop at Pho Viet on Dundas Street not far from the marina, just amazing home made spring rolls.
Cool! Will have to add that to the list!
Wherever you are now, Merry Christmas!
Thanks Andy, right back at you and your family!
You are in my necknof the woods, born Kingstonian, raised in Belleville. Yacht trip on the trent severn when i was 16. Many years ago. My husband and i live on Dog lake, Rideau canal locks northeast of Kingston, north of upper brewers lock. If you ever decide to head east on the rideau reach out for Dog Lake George lakehouse hospitality.
Will do, we've heard great things about the Rideau Canal and would love to check it out!
@@SchoandJo our dock sits in five feet of water and then drop 8ft to 47 ft in front of our neighbour. Many shoals. But very navigational.
Yeah, Canadians are universally nice. In my life, I've only met one who was churlish, but that was back in 1970. DC-T of BS&T was quite arrogant and chauvinistic then, but I imagine he's probably mellowed my now 😅
Thank you for the Christmas card 🎄
Thank YOU Susan!
Congrats on your AGLCA sponsor. Nice to know about the white and gold flag colors.
Do the Canadians require you to have been a recipient of the "vaccine" to cruise in their waterways?
When we entered, proof of vaccination was required.
Canada dropped the vax requirement for most part, China back on list just now. Canadians still required to be vaxed to enter USA though not getting asked at border very often.
Small point. It's not just a "beam reach". In sailing, you're always either running before the wind (the wind directly or almost directly behind you) or reaching. A beam reach is when the wind is at 90 degrees to the centerline of your boat. A close reach is when the wind is from ahead (less than 90 degrees) and a broad reach is when the wind is from astern (more than 90 degrees, but less than 180). Enjoying your channel.
Merry Christmas guys!
Happy Holidays and Happy New Year!
Great video once again. Merry Christmas
Thank you again!!!
You are like... air)
Hey guys, would love an updated review of your ePropulsion outboard (if you're even still using it...) Still happy with it? Is it holding up ok? Any issues? Batteries still keeping their charge? Thought about upgrading to more hp?
Thanks! Have fun out there :)
Hi David!
Yes we are still using it and are happy with it. No issues, the batteries still keep their charge, and a higher HP would be nice 😁
I am watching this on 12/24/2022 soMerry CHristmas and I appreciate you bringing me along on your adventures.
Thanks so much for coming along Barry! Happy Holidays and Happy New Year!
Enjoying your video’s and VERY familiar with the waters From Kingston to Trenton as well as the 1000 Islands having sailed all since 1990. Regrettably, I guess your schedule caused you to miss several wonderful anchorages between Kingston and Trenton. If you plan to do another Loop, as many do, you might consider Collins Bay, Kerr Bay, Prinyer’s Cove (our home base in the warm months), Picton, Hay Bay and Big Bay among many others as prime places to anchor out on your way to Trenton! The route through this area is deserving of much more time if you have it and is alive with history from the 1600’s on being prime Loyalist areas steeped with history.
Thanks so much for sharing Tom! Thats the challenge with the Loop, each area has fantastic, unique stops and we have to pick and choose where to go! Thanks for adding to our list for next time, cheers!
I really enjoy the uploads. The editing involved must take an insane amount of effort and patience. I am curious if you need to purchase a different fishing license when you enter each state or province? I always wondered that. God bless you both and may you have safe travels always. 🐟🐟🐟
Thanks so much! Yes, unfortunately you do need new licenses in each state and province! Some states do allow you to apply for the license online at least. Cheers and happy holidays!
When u were chatting about the swells, I was thinking about the swells reported on Lake Superior during the current winter storm. They have been 8 metres. YIKES.
For real, glad we are no where near there! We do have icicles growing off our swim platform though!
Unfortunately you missed the best part, the rideau canal. Still following you both , have a Merry Christmas.
Gotta save some thing for next time 😁 Thanks Hector!
Surprised you did not anchor in Picton Harbour and split the journey. Maybe next time ,nice town. Hope you are safely in a marina with heat right now during this record winter storm
Next time we'll have to break it up 😁 Yes, docked in Mobile Alabama and many of their pipes burst, but Pivot is all ok!
Hell yes. I've been waiting for the T-S since before you broke your flipper.
Woot woot!!
Great watching you, fyi the factory on the east side of the lock is a former ammunition's plant from WWII days, there is a plaque near the lock with more info to it's history and the people of the time.
Oh cool, thanks for the info John!
You've probably been there, done that by now, but the Big Chute marine railway is very cool. And Merry Christmas.
It was amazing! Can't wait to edit it the video and release it here! Happy Holidays!
I was watching Olllie standing out in the rain when she could have just as easily have come inside. Katie, my dog, would rather be outside during a storm even if it's thundering and lighting than stay inside our 5th wheel trailer. I don't get it but then I'm just a human.
Haha somethings we just don't understand 😁
Loving these videos. I grew up on the Bay of Quinty our house looking straight over at Trenton. Now live on lake simcoe and this summer did our boat trip down to Peterborough. Really wish we had seen you guys on your way thru. Cant wait to see you make your way to Georgian Bay. Have a great Christmas!!
Oh nice! Simcoe to Peterborough is a nice run! Happy Holidays and Happy new Year!
Success in the crossing and now back to work . Locks and close quarters in the canal. Looks to be a new adventure and some unbelievable locks. Can"t wait. Good luck and Enjoy.
Thanks Buck!
My wife and are making this trip in May. It will be our first voyage in a new to us 36' trawler similar to yours. How long did it take you to go from Kingston to Trenton in this video?
Awesome, best of luck y'all! I think we put the exact milage and time in the video at the end of the cruise, but roughly 10/11 hours.. All day long, not so bad in the Summer though 😁
I wish you a Merry Christmas, safe sailing at all times and always a hand's breadth of water under the keel.
Thanks so much Marc!
Well you don't want go to jail they don't have Christmas there happy new years
Happy Holidays!
That was a nice 10-hour laid-back cruise. Too bad about being hot though.
A long one for sure! Almost 12 hours end to end 😎
Hope you enjoyed the trip. Probably watched you cruise by ! I had a spot between lock 7 and 8 . Did many trips up to the kawarthas, a high light every time . And the people you meet ,ah !!
Its the people you meet no doubt! We should be cruising between those locks in two videos. Cheers!
Love the videos and Your journey. I’m probably twice your age at 61 and plan to do the loop within 5 years. Gotta ask. What are your jobs to help afford not only backpacking Europe but now doing the loop? Keep the videos coming.
Doug Twigger
Awesome Doug! You are going to have a blast! I (Elliot) have a software consultancy and did that before traveling and a bit while doing the Loop. We also are doing UA-cam and content creation full time and that is where we are shifting for the future! It does not pay much but we try to keep our cost of living down as much as possible, cheers
@@SchoandJo thank you. I almost didn’t ask as I didn’t want you get into your personal life but it’s important to know. I’m self employed and debating on working while on the loop or selling my business. Again thank you
I’ve so been waiting for to start the Trent.
Woot woot! Thanks Stephen 😁
Looks great. Cant wait to get my trawler there.
You're going to have a blast!
Merry Christmas you three!!!!!
Merry Christmas and Happy New Year to you as well!
