It was 365 days ago that I established the Kingdom of Jerusalem and defended it in a Let's Play series. What's more fitting than making a guide for the achievement now?
holy shit I thought you had to get this achievement with the original count Eustache. I restarted so many times waiting for the crusade to fire... im surprised you didn't usurp the throne of france. it's pretty acheivable after the duchy of flanders
a little tip for you, when you send gifts for the people who accept bribery, they will automatically join your plot one's you unpause the time. no need to ask them to join your plot.
But but but this is one of the few "rare" achievements I managed to get on my own for real!! (one tiny correction, the battle strategy you describe is right but you don't even need to be the leader, as long as you take part in the fight you're getting war points)
This achievement is actually one of my most hated ones. I just failed the sixth attempt: After the crusade was not called until 1110 and my characters died four times (age, stress, consumption, murdered), it finally was called for Egypt and I couldn't change the target as it was the same person. So I think if it pops for Egypt, you have to restart, or do I miss any detail? Anyway, great video, thanks so much!
Attempt #7: Eustace dies in 1075, I inherit one of two counties, fight my brother for the other ones with mercenaries. Liege enforces realm peace and then revokes my last title.
This is exactly what happened to me I would start the game. Get the duchy of Flanders and the Pope would the crusade for Egypt and while I could change it I could not change it to Jerusalem. I hate this achievement.
gamer 93 You can change it to Jerusalem, you just need to change it to a new character (like the emperor of Tibet) , then back to the old one with Jerusalem as the new target.
Yea, I just finished this achievement like 20 minutes ago, and I was freaking out because I didn't have enough piety to change the target to Jerusalem, but that's why you need a bunch of gold. Just buy piety by giving to the crusade war chest and you'll be good to go.
Yeah this is an annoying and common situation. But you can change the crusade target even within the same ruler's realm if you have enough piety (750) - switch the target to another ruler and then switch it back to the holder of Jerusalem. Make sure the Kingdom of Jerusalem is a possible target first though (target ruler must control at least 6 counties in the kingdom, according to the wiki). Often the reason why in 1066 the crusade target switches from Jerusalem to Egypt is because the Fatamid vassal who controls the area of Jersualem rebels against the Fatamid Caliph. Also, if you don't succeed on the first crusade, you can just wait till the next one. You only need to start as Eustache, not be him when you switch to play as your beneficiary. So you can just bide your time, make sure you have a new crop of beneficiaries (lots of reproducing dynasty members without land) and get more gold and levies.
The main problem for me while trying to get this achievement is the fact that the first crusade fires earlier for Egypt not Jerusalem as the Fatimids hold both kingdoms and I never have 500 piety to request it specifically like you did in the video. There is also no way to change the target even with the right amount of piety because "no valid targets to change to". So, whether I like it or not I need to wait until the next crusade happens and hope the target is right and from a quick achievement run I get a long campaign...
At 5:03 how do you trigger the plot to claim the duchy? Third restart and I can’t seem to ever amass as much money at certain dates and never get that fabricate claim. Am I missing a DLC or us one of the DKC’s changing how the mechanics work? Very frustrating to try and follow along and not get anywhere close to accomplishing this. I must be dense. 🤷♂️
Badouin became King Baldwin I after Godfrey died and was the first person to be titled King of Jerusalem but yeah Godfrey is the character the achievement is based on.
just a month before i was winning the crusade, Baldwin got sick and for some reason game stated he can't be beneficiary anymore... i had to choose his stupid sister in order to get the achievement but really wanted to continue with him.
According to the CK2 Wiki you apparently need the Holy Fury DLC to be awarded this achievement. I can at least confirm that it did not work for me without Holy Fury, but it was still fun to try.
After you form the outremmer empire why not also go for the "Kingdom of David" achievemnet (forming Israel) & if you need a reason for it because you are roleplaying, I have one after forming Outremmer and your current character is cynical and possibly stressed/depressed your character doesn't believe in catholism anymore maybe because no other christians helped you, the Pope may have granted your ancestors or you the holy land but after that you were on your own swamped in a sea of Islam and none of the other Christians were out there to help, not even the Pope. You wouldn't convert to Islam because you and/or your family have fought against them to get to this point, you may have lost faith in the bible but perhaps Judaism & the Torah may bring your new character hope.
Lol, you didn't organise the expedition? It's free money guaranteed. Just get the other party's opinion to be above 0, and they're almost gauranteed to accept.

I thought you had to be the original as well ffs.
WAIT WHAT! THANK YOU SO MUCH!!!! I was so annoyed when he died after I became king of France

Only if the auto-invite is selected.

Lol i just did achievement, what acoincidence.
I went for kingdom of France and a lot of money. Turns out i did not need the 3.5k gold :D

I’m not able to fabricate the claim on the duchy. It’s simply not available is there a reason for it not to appear?
need to resign from council
Oh shit, I literally opened UA-cam when this got uploaded 😂 keep up the good work man! Love your videos!!
Hey, love the videos!! Keep up the great work!!!
Restoring the borders of rome was easier than this when i went for it first time
I was honestly not even sure if that achievement was still possible. I tried multiple times but my liege always went and revoked my county.
The One who was the "Regent of Jerusalem" was Goddfrey...
Badouin became King Baldwin I after Godfrey died and was the first person to be titled King of Jerusalem but yeah Godfrey is the character the achievement is based on.
Exactly. Godfrey was the one to accept rule over Jerusalem, but as "Defender of the Holy Sepulchre".
just a month before i was winning the crusade, Baldwin got sick and for some reason game stated he can't be beneficiary anymore... i had to choose his stupid sister in order to get the achievement but really wanted to continue with him.
Just want to say nice dude
ah, yes... only the >1000subs remember the LP :D

I might not have the money to join the Chanel, but I never skip the ads
It is very much appreciated!
There isn't any speedrun. Why you called it so?
Nice

But what if your Christian allies in France, Holy Roman Empire or even the Byzantines do come to help you when you need it
They could help but in the case of HRE & France it often takes a while for them to get there
