Dear Ann, Thank you for giving us a such a personal view of your loving family. :) This video is both heartwarming and inspirational. Family love is Foundational. Thank you Ann again and again for your transparency and particularly this fun and wonderful video. :)
Hi Ann ,what a lovely video with all your brother and sister . I'm so glad because you live in the UK when you have been a kid ultil now but you always concern about your Ethnicity .The meal which made from bee fand salad that you don't know how to call it is "Nộm"
+X Anything Chibird X really? i love how Kim-Chan shows her shy smile in front of the camera! it was just so cute! anyway I'm your age and I born on 2004
Ann, Your photo is really beautiful with that make up, it's the style in that days. Famous singers were make up and wearing like that, not much people fix that style you know. You look nice on it ^_^
This was so cute~! :3 All the things you said about Vietnamese culture relates so much to me. And your photo-op, Ann, that pose, why they make you pose like that is beyond me? xD
+Annchirisu Cool! Then I should explain why as it's a common mistake and not at all obvious... If you say the noun after the number one (or 21, 31, 41, etc.) in the masculine form, the "o" of uno is removed. So, for example: "tengo _un_ libro" = I have one book. ¿Cuántos libros tienes? Tengo un libro. Tengo uno. ¿Cuántos hermanos tienes? Tengo un hermano. Tengo uno. But ¿Cuántas hermanas tienes? Tengo _una_ hermana. Tengo una. (How many books/brothers/sisters do you have? I have one book/brother/sister. I have one.) The "a" from the feminine "una" is not removed. Similarly: ¿Cuántos años tienes? Tengo veintiún años. Tengo veinte uno. (Literally: How many years do you have? I have 21 years. I have 21.) Just to make it even more complicated, the spelling here is changed to become one word: veintiún instead of what you might expect, "veinte un" which would be incorrect and does not exist. Hope that helps!
+Annchirisu Ann how was it being Vietnamese and growing up in the UK? I am sure definitely different compared to growing up in the US like California where a lot of 2nd generation Vietnamese kids grew up. Were people accepting of diversity over there or were you made fun of while growing up?
+Daniel Luu growing up viet in the UK is nothing like Cali you'd be the only Asian in class out of 30 students or sometimes even the whole school and yeah you do get bullied and picked on mostly kids would call you Chinese and mock you all the time .. always been jealous of Asian kids who got to grow up in Cali or in Asian dominant communities :(
+Daniel Luu +Tiffany Pham What Tiffany is saying is right. Strangers would say ni hao as I walk past them. Even workers at the mall would say ni hao because I look like a rich Chinese tourist to them. There's way more Chinese than Viets here. There's only 55,000 or so Viets in the UK whereas in the US there's a million Viets. I also feel envious of Viet-Americans T_T because in Europe I feel like there's more racial hate crimes here than in the US.
Your brother's Spanish is so good! I'm from Mexico and I think that he's really good at it :D This video was so funny, your sister is kawaii -u- I love your videos
I am wondering how vietnamese people distinguish by name because all my vietnamese friends have kind of same names...lol korean people has similar naming system but they are all different....
