Chants T Brown Yes that's right; Cindy Sr (Michelle Collins) tried to have Ian killed by a hitman when their marriage didn't work. Panicking, Cindy Sr took Steven and Peter to Italy. Ian tracked her down with the Mitchell brothers and re-kidnapped the boys. The above scene was Cindy confronting Ian about it. Some time later, they went to family court where Cindy was awarded custody of all 3 children.
She was pregnant with Cindy Jr at the time. Afterwards, Cindy Sr was arrested when the hitman confessed to her involvement.
Cindy Sr died giving birth to Mimi Keene's character in prison. Baby Cindy was taken to live in Devon with her aunt and grandmother after Cindy Sr's sister couldn't have children. Simple!

My opinion of her accent on Coronation street was awful because it was clearly not a genuine northern English accent but it also had tones of her cockney accent that is her natural accent and is also the accent that she has here coming through her fake manicunian accent

now maybe I should try to watch all the episodes that had cindy and chronicled her marriage to ian before I comment, but the episodes leading up to her trying to murder ian, i'm sorry but I can't help but side with ian haha! I mean yes murder is extreme and her cheating on ian was wrong I suppose but ian is a miserable twat and he instead of handing her divorce papers after finding out her adultery was just controlling her financially which i'm sorry is just plain wrong.

The men on Eastenders always won against women when it came to the custody or care of kids. Ian and Grant thought they were their childrens sole parent and the mother just carried the kids for them! 🙄. Eastenders were rather sexist in the 90s.
