Ah the good old days 80s eastenders at it's classic best . Ian was young and slim . Sharon was a little Angie in the making . Dirty den and nana beale Martin was a baby . Michelle was preggers with vicci. Really enjoying the re runs on drama I can't remember any of them as I was born in the 80s . Make it that good again please BBC
This was a great storyline it had everyone trying to guess who the father would be and the reveal was so well done you didn't know until Roly jumped out of the car that it was Den. EastEnders was very good back then.
If the internet had been around this would definitely have been spoiled beforehand. Thank goodness that this wasn't the case as I saw this ep on transmission and the reveal gave me my first genuine WTF reaction I ever got from a tv show or movie.
I too have been watching the Drama reruns. My first EastEnders storyline I remember from childhood is Michelle having the baby. I hope Drama shows loads more old ones, especially with my teen crush Sean Maguire in it as footballer Aidan Brosnan. That was in 1993 I think as he was in it for around a year I believe.
I don't think 'spoilers' were around back then so no one really knew what was going to happen until it was aired! I'm not sure about this though, as I wasn't even born yet when this happened!
@@doctor_gibbo1392 I think you know what I meant, but good for you for having nothing better to do than correct my error. 👏👏👏 Eastenders HAS had live episodes, btw.
eek i wish i'd been alive to watch this the first time round, old eastenders is so much better than now, cos now they tend to repeat old storylines, which is alright but not as cool or entertaining as the good old days!
It was in the news that Michelle was going to be what they called a gymslip mum, but nobody knew who the father was, until the above episode was broadcast. At the beginning of the episode, Michelle went into a phone box and called the father and told him she needed to see him. We saw about four different actors on the telephone at the same time. Den (the father) was the first of the four. Nobody knew who the father was until Roly the poodle got out of the car. Wow! Den was revealed as the father!
Roly was the real star. What an actor 😄

I look how Michelle was dressed and I thought "Todays 16 year olds dress nothing like that.".
Exactly, and back then children where seen and not heard, the good old days.
Ah the good old days seem like such and old fucking codger 😂
@@Vivid_Viking not Michelle. Dirty Den really saw and heard her! 🙈😂😂
@@Vivid_VikingOK boomer
I bet a lot of people were shocked when they first found out that Den was the father
🙂 Totally true. Although he was the most obvious one
@@MrsSlocombesPuddyCat There's one scene where Chelle is looking at him admiringly.
Winston beltin out the tunes on his market stall
I remember watching this and almost falling over when Rolly gotout of that car. I thought the father was Andy since he was young.
See I think it would've been more fun if Ali was the father because he was more of a womaniser than the others.
If the internet had been around this would definitely have been spoiled beforehand.

Same, it was such a big thing back then too
At this point your comment practically belongs in a museum itself. I hope you are still there and can still receive this reply.
My fav Ep ever. Love the bus journey.

Oh nice clip of a now rare Scania Metropolitan 😄
Wow that takes me back. I was a child then. Time sure flies by. When was this filmed? Cars look so old.
tracey cross lol i wasnt born then
1985/1986
Well you must know, as you said you were a child. Anyway I believe it was 1985 or 1986
1985. The baby was born in May 1986.
I was 11
Susan and Lesile were brillant actors. They played this scene really well. Especially Susan in this scene as a pregnant teenager.

I remember it clearly and I always thought Ali was the father.
at the end why did den sound really camp
Haha 😄👍
P.S. Happy 10 years of age to this upload.
they did the same kind of thing when heather was revealing george's father.
They recycled this for Vicki when she got knocked up in 2003 by Spencer (who she Ironically reconciled with off-screen in Australia)
Yes an embarrassing poor copy
Did any car in the 80’s have seat belts?
Yes, definitely.
I remember watching this live.
You were at the canal?
Eastenders was actually pre-recorded, so...yeah.

wat happend 2 rolly
I am so in love with Susan Tully and have been for many years.
Even now people drive like maniacs round the square!!!! Im surprised theres not more people knocked down!!
Why did teenagers dress like old women in the 80s? What a hideous fashion it was then
Michelle dressed that way, along with some of these weird women in plural marriages. Michelle was a total dog.
Maybe it was just Michelle. 🤷♀️
no it was normal.@@startracker5895

So Michelle corked Den,Andy,Tony and Ali ?! Blimey ! talk about yo-yo knickers.....
LOL. I was abroad when this all happened so really enjoying seeing what I missed :)
@Hulk2k6 thanks
I think she was supposed to be 16, I seem to remember her being in school uniform.
Michelle was, although Susan Tully (the actress who played her) was about 17, nearer 18 years old. Den was 39.
yes you can you fools its clearly visible in the cars reflection
Watching eastenders then and now... not much as changed other than a lot of dead characters
how did theviewing public not know it was him?

Because no such thing as spoilers back then, no internet, it was a clever run up to it, lol it was literally like the news
It was a lot easier to keep shit secret back then and they probably filmed a bunch of endings
@@DizzyKizzy64 it was pretty obvious who it was going to be though.
October 1985
well it was 20 yrs ago lol things will change
@932sd
The Internet was around on a smaller scale in the 80s (almost non-existant) but soap spoilers were at the bottom barrel.
What? The internet at that time was used solely by some military. The "world wide web" was non-existent at the time.
does she have a secret baby with grant
ZAK ANGEL yes she does

Was run over in '92. Think it was Mandy's fault.
