God, I love hearing great musicians praising other great musicians)
I dont see the connection with this video?
This Taylor guy is getting worse every day. One day he's praising Korn, then it's Mötley Crüe, then it's Metallica and then it's Ratt or whatever. "Dude, I grew up with all these great bands..." I also grew up with different bands (way before this guy), but I knew how to tell the difference between the good stuff and the crap. Today everything seems to be "cool" and "great" and "inspiring", no matter how shitty it is or was.
You know, there's a thing called personal opinion - just because it works this way for you, doesn't mean it works the same for everyone else.
@ Simple Guy: Who are you talking to? It would be good adressing the one your're answering to. If you're answering me, well, I thought you were sarcastic about that guy (you know, great musician). So sorry I misunderstood your comment. But fuck him anyway.
No sarcasm intended. Anyway, why writing commentary on something or someone that you don't like? If I hate something I might (though I probably won't) type "Fuck him" and be done with it, rather than inserting a wall of text and THEN writing "fuck him". Makes no sense to me, doctor.
and Munky had the same reaction when he first heard Slipknot.
talent really recognizes talent.
Aww
I've seen Korn, Slipknot, Pantera.... I can die happy 😇
The fact that Pantera is listed there makes me extremely jealous
You lived a good life.
I saw Pantera 9 times...starting in 1992 when they were opening for Soundgarden and Skid Row...wow, 25 years ago!!!
if you have seen pantera, say no more. you were blessed
joshAKAtheman I had tickets for the tenth show but got the flu
Ahhh I miss the days when MTV actually played music and not stupid "reality" tv shows
when was that, MTV has sucked snice mid 90s it died in 94..
you answered your own question
how about jackass tv?
It's 2017, just watch music on UA-cam like the rest of us. Who cares what MTV does or did.
Ben Geisser agreed man agreed I wish MTV could just play the FUCKING! MUSIC! FUCK!
"I was watching MTV, when they played music back then, GOOD MUSIC. "
Seeing Korn live is amazing! Jonathan Davis has a lot of fucking energy and is always going nuts on stage!
Yo bruh, why no third yet?
Cause Gaben is lazy and won't pay me enough to do a third game....
GordanFreeman23 We wantHalf-Life 3!!!
I've been a fan since '94. Blind was the first song I ever heard and like Corey said about hearing Clown for the first time? When I heard Blind for the first time... I had no words.. It really was the most brutal thing I had ever heard. When Jon growled out that opening "ARE YOU READY!?"... I was hooked from that moment on. Still to this day KoRn remains as my favorite band. They definitely have something special... nothing else out there like them. I'll be a fan til the day I die.
Blind is an insanely good song. i first heard that back in 2002 when i went to my first metal nightclub at age 12. just hearing that tapping on the crash waiting for something to happen, then the bass slowly kicks in, that guitar increasing the intensity, the song feels like it takes ages to ramp up and then it turns into a doom type poetry reading which invoked all of my angst and emotion. tons of sweaty kids just kinda making a large open circle, as clueless as i was, i decided to push my way to the edge to see what's up, the circle was empty, then the ( i think pre) chorus blasts in unapologetically and that was my first instance of a true mosh pit, heads swaying back and forth, leather and spikes throughout and people just headbanging..... i was unaware that soon, this pit was going to become a place of physical unleash for everyone, stood there like an idiot, i found someones elbow had landed on my face rather hard.... my first pit was because of that.... soon after coal chamber came over the speakers with Loco.
holy hell. you reminding me about Blind just made me type.... shit what a good night that was. long live rock and roll. you wont see people being ok with a fist to the face in any other place than a mosh pit..... oh boy, let the bodies hit the floor. fuck me i can't stop getting flashbacks. IEAIAIO was another.... i should go back to metal nightclubs... i know i've started making no sense but it means so much to so many people. i wonder how many more had similar experiences. it looks like i'm going through my library of songs to find these gems.
Skinny puppy will forever be my fav band. Hello metal heads, rivet head here. But I absolutely agree. Korn is the band that got me into real music. Korn somehow still stands out as unique. Much respect.
P.S. Blind may just be one of my favorite songs. The build up. The declaration of "are you ready". they knew they were onto something.
kornfreak78 I love you KornFreak, you always have the best comments
kornfreak78 i feel the same way as u..
+ELFanatic Rivet head! man, I haven't heard that term since around '97.
man I remember when Korn opened for Danzig in 94 at the boat house (Norfolk, VA) they came out with the bag pipes playing (Shoots and Ladders) and the whole place got quiet, everyone stopped and was in awe, like wtf is this guy doing. Then the bass dropped, man that was the BEST CONCERT EVER they blew the headliner away, Korn put on an over the top show!
The show was "1995 May 2 Korn / Marilyn Manson / Danzig"
I really respect Jonathan for going with the risk in putting bagpipes into a nu-metal track. Its crazy how years later not only is it a staple song of their live shows, but everytime he brings those bagpipes out now, the fans go crazy.
Shoots and Ladders plays on repeat around my house during Halloween 🎃 🤘🏼
I used to listen to Korns first album on cassette tape back in 95.
KoRn is one of my all time favorites
Clown and Here to Stay are my personal favourite songs by Korn!
"back when MTV played music, good music".
KoRn are the best band ever!
Also I love how the video for Clown is first on the right in the 'Up next' section.
*clicks play*
Coming Undone was the first Korn song I ever heard. I was born the same year follow The Leader was released. Korn and Linkin Park got me into Nu Metal and eventually into more metal.
Too bad Linkin Park isn't a nu-metal band anymore :(
Tonny Bivans yeah it's sad that Linkin Park is choosing to be suckers for mainstream pop radio now :(
I've seen Korn and slipknot live. Slipknot is my favorite band but Korn blew them out of the water live. They were both great shows.
DJ Hughes damn
DJ Hughes from what I’ve seen Slipknot looks better. I mean the drummer was spinning😂😂
I like slipknot too. But there's is Korn and then there's Korn live. If that makes any sense
Yeah I saw them live in 2019 and I can say the same. Both were really awesome though
Korn Absolutely fucking KILLS it live it’s like a crazy ass feeling witnessing that voice live they literally sound just like on cd
Korn is amazing. Loved them since I was in middle school and I’m 32 now. I’ve seen Slipknot and Korn together and both were great but Korn is by far the best shows to see. I’ve seen them 4 times I think total so far and each time I have a blast. When Davis comes out with those bag pipes and goes into Shoots and Ladders.... omgfg, Everyone just goes wild. Ugh love it.
I remember first hearing korn and thinking they sucked, later i slowly became obsessed
When did you hear about them? I assume you weren't a teenager in the 90's.
I found Korn on accdient in a way.. I went to a Sublime show and Korn played that show.. What a werid combo but at the time, recored companies didn't know where to place Korn and Sublime... But once i heard them it was nothing i heard before just like when i first heard and seen Sublime a few years before that in 91.
Rickey Ryan sublime and korn sounds awesome, you're very lucky to have seen brad live!
My brother was playing the Untouchables album on his stereo system back in 2002 when I was just a little kid. I was like please just turn off that noise but later on it turned out to be one of my all time favorite albums to this day. I was always a rap kid since diapers but Korn got me into metal music and I’ve been a fan ever since.
When I first heard Slipknot and Korn I was like "damn people listen to this shit? It sounds like a broken blender" and now it's pretty much all I listen to. When I need to hit a PR in the gym, I'm putting on either Custer of Got the Life
The (sic)kest dude alive! \m/
im so confused over this 'sic' thing what does it mean?? :')
cloudie x (sic) is one of Slipknot's more popular early songs.
One legend inspired another
Davis and Taylor are the 2 greatest male metal vocalist of all time. The ranges of these 2 are amazing.
First hearing Korn was the best music experience I’ve ever had
"You know, Good Music" i fucking love you corey
A god talking about gods!
Birds of a feather.
God? He will die just like everyone else . Nothing special
no one should ever refer to anyone as a "God" ..doing so implies the individual is perfect and mirrors God's image ..Corey Taylor or any other musician for that matter is not even close to perfect or sin free
Mandy Graham shut up
Mandy, you're right. They shouldn't refer to Corey as a god......considering Corey actually exists.
This is what I love about Corey Taylor, he speaks the truth about good music, he has nobody holding a gun to his head saying this is what you like, now tell everybody. He is genuine about his likes and dislikes, this is a good man.
I like when he says "when I watched MTV they showed music, good music."
“Which showed music good music.” Couldn’t agree more
KoRn is one of the greatest bands of all time. They are STILL great to this day, and even if they put out some horrible albums like SYOTOS, when they put out a HIT record, it is an absolute classic. Their more recent stuff is very 90s too, which is great. Slipknot, ever got into them.
@LeadMe2TheBliss That’s my favorite album from them honestly behind Untouchables. I feel like if Brian was on that record in good health that album would have been their greatest.
@LeadMe2TheBliss I think things got ugly after untouchables
I love Coreys voice! Not just his singing voice but his speaking voice !
Korn are very unique. They evolve and change, but I've never disliked anything they release. That puts them in a VERY unique category with very few other artists, that can consistently produce great music to a high standard. Truly one of the greatest bands to grace our ears.
I remember when i first listened to Stone sour. I was hooked and loved them straight away.
Corey Taylor was blown by Korn
other way around buddy.
Josh4rock lol
Its all in the family
Metallica Master Of Puppets ♡
Metallica Master Of Puppets noice
I was 14 in 1997 and my older brother put on Life is Peachy and I heard Twist and K@#0%! and I was instantly hooked. Theres only a few bands that I can remember the first time I heard them.
This guy always speak with honesty love him, Long live Corey!!!
Real recognizes Real
hey bro. Mr. Neck.
Patrick G. He may have a neck but George "Corpsegrinder" Fisher has THE NECK in all of metal
lmfao
George "Corpsegrinder"'s neck would eat Corey's neck for breakfast.
Corey: Mr. Neck
Corpsegrinder: Dr. Neck, PhD
Uncle Corey!! 👍🏻. This makes my heart smile 😊 ♥️❤️‼️.
Korn and slipknot are my two favorite bands, so the fact they both respect eachother and actually did music together is absolutely outstanding
i also remember when i was 14 when i was watching mtv i saw korn's freak on a leash music video i was also blown away as well and became a korn fan ever since.
I am so glad I found Korn, one of the best bands I’ve heard
What’s so amazing about Korn is that you will never find another band that sounds like them, ever.
They are truly unique and genius, and that’s why they’ll always be my favorite band
BABYMETAL?
@@MohammadMoniruzzamanABIR FUCKYEAMAN BOOMNADABOOMNADAEMA
A real tearjerker, great man Corey.
Korn is a great band, period.
So much emotion and aggression korn 's self titled album it is amazing
My husband passed in November 2020 and we both love Slipknot and Korn. This makes me a bit happy!
Watching one of my idols talk about another group of idols is honestly amazing.
2 favorite bands by far korn and slipknot man they are so damn good. They are just so much fun to listen to and you can have a really good workout to their music.
Awesome what I thought about korn when I met them backstage at brixton academy as well well most just didn't meet David because he left the band and John wasn't around and i was really grateful for meeting them as it was a suprise as didn't know I was going to meet them until the end of the show head asked how long i been a fan and told head I been a fan for 20 years so that's about 2 years after Corey lol blind was the first song I heard when I borrowed the debut album of my sisters friend which I recorded onto blank cassette tape and listened to the tape until it finally snapped some time in 1999 maybe a few months before I bought issues on cd then slipknots debut \m/
Who isn’t they still rock😊
Korn are an amazing band when I heard Blind for the first time I was in love and I get that feeling anytime I hear it .
Corey is my absolute love❤❤❤ and I am In awe anytime they collaborate they both have an amazing talent and come across as such lovely genuine guys.
In the word's of head"call your limo Corey Taylor" xxx
ive been to jail 7 times i think , but 3 of them times i know for fact my day started off with blind jamming. not sure if connected at all. not trying throw blame but its between bud light and korn is all!!!! NOT GUILTY YOUR HONOR
Similar story for me. I remember watching MTV around 95 and seeing a Korn video. To be honest I can’t remember which one. It didn’t matter. I loved it! Bought the album, and within six months, follow the leader came out. I listened to both albums nonstop. Everywhere I went, every second at work, no matter what I did, I had a Korn riff in my head! Good times!
The first time I saw Slipknot, Korn opened for them and I was blown away by both of them. When Korn finished I was wondering if Slipknot could even top them, but fuck, they showed me.
I saw Korn in 2004. Best show ever!!
I really hope one day to be able to see korn in concert went all the way to silver spring MD for a show and it was cancelled but still all time favorite band
My hero😍😈plus he's talking about another one of my fav bands.
And they still cause that feeling in shows today!
This...🖤
Back in early 96 i wasnt the hugest rock fan.ive heard metalica and sepultura songs and thought they were kinda cool, but i never really got into it.my friends convinced me to go to their concert on their tour with ozzy and i was just stunned. I had never seen anything so powerful and heavy in my life.i hurt musles i didnt know i had. Ive been a fan ever since.i stoped at the record store on my way home that night and picked up the self titled album.i seen shows again in 98 and 99 and i just went to one a couple months ago.it also opened the doors for me getting into metal and i am a fan of multiple bands now including slipknot.
I got to see Korn and Manson both in ‘95. Dif dates but both shows had the tension and excitement that Corey describes. And when they came on stage in that 500 capacity venue that was squeezed in so tight with probably more than 500 people, you knew shit was going to hit the fan as soon as they started to play.
Both bands were so heavy live those nights. Korn played almost every that had from self titled to life is peachy. They played for about 90 min
I Just watched this video in the Top 10 Corey Taylor moments, I LOVE LoudWire and Corey
Nothing beats Korn, Slipknot, and Tool. Greatest rock/metal bands ever
We we watching Mty,which shows music back then, good music -Corey Taylor everybody
I never listen to The song Clown that much. But i gave it a chance. That has to be my favorite korn songs ever
The best part about KoRn? Aside from anything anyone has mentioned, is that The Nothing (2019) literally has the IDENTICAL iconic KoRn sound as their debut album, and rocks just as much. You can’t find that anywhere, any genre. Such an amazing band...
Corey Taylor explaining how he became a fan of KoRn’s gives me SO MUCH hope as a musician!!! 🤘❤️
I remember seeing Korn open up for KMFDM, at The Rage Nightclub (now gone), in Vancouver, Canada. They weren't even really known yet. I meet them after the show, played some pool, had some drinks with them. Super cool dudes.
MAN I CAN REMEMBER MTV GOOD OLD DAYS MISS THEM
It was at Red Rocks, I was at the show. It was an awesome show for sure.
Saw Korn with Ozzy in Ames, IA in 95. 🤘
I saw them when I was 17. Fought from 15 rows back to come front and center of Jonathan Davis kicking ass and it's something words can't describe. After that day, there music just seemed to be even more moving to me.
Love you all, 🤘
Korn is my fav band followed by slipknot. Really great to hear Corey give some love to a fantastic band like Korn!
I remember first time seeing the music video for clown back then had never heard of Korn but I became a fan too.
My baby corey I love his voice and tone

Corey is a class act
Korn is by far the best band i`ve seen live and i have seen Slipknot and or just every major metalband
ock band in the world that atleast are in the Music genres that i actually like
unfortunately the first time I heard Korn was probably 11 years ago when I was 14 and it was Twisted Transistor off the album See You on the Other Side. Obviously not there best but the sound of that album was just amazing and I've been a fan since.
That's high praise
RESPECT
Korn is a legend
Going to seem them tomorrow
I was like 12 or 13 when I first saw the video for Blind on some pay video channel called The Box in like 94-95 and something was just so badass about Korn that I was just in awe.
And ironically, I felt something quite similar when I got to see slipknot at ozzfest in 99 before hearing their record!
Surge s . Series of surges corey. I discoverd lately i can relate 2 u . Iam at tht excitement level right now
Watching mtv good music back then
Megadeth, fear factory, flatsum and jetsum and Korn...one of the best shows I have ever seen...22 years ago...and I just saw Stone sour Yelawolf and Korn again Aug 2. That just pasted...Korn had me hooked after the first song
I got to see Korn live in Pueblo Colorado right in front of the fucking stage at a fair. It was fucking great, one of my favorite concert experiences ever. The most pit during Freak on a Leash (you know what part I'm talking about) was brutal. I split my bottom lip in that pit, but fuck was it worth it.
Damn straight 🤘
13 year old me in 1999 would love seeing this.
Can agree with him about clown!! That riff is badass!! Great respect form Corey about Korn
And the award for the most humble rock start ever goes to Cory Taylor!
eddie vedder has to up there too
Corey is such a fucking legend. One of the best voices in metal! Jonathan Davis and Corey Taylor and Otep Shamaya are my 3 top lead vocalists!
The first time I heard KoRn was, I think in 2004. It was on my way to Preschool and trust me when I say, I'm 18 now and still the metalhead that I was born and raised to be. KoRn and Slipknot are my top favorites and have given me the power to be myself no matter what the fuck people think.
I also saw Korn with Megadeth on that tour, in NY. I still have the ticket stub.
i think a both of them are impact each other
Korn got me into rock. Nuff said.
korn is the best live act of all music genres
I remember seeing the video for Did My Time on the DVD to the 2nd Tomb Raider movie and being blown away by it (I was like 10)
You can definitely hear the influence of Korn in Slipknots music. Pantera as well. It's Awesome! Building on the foundations laid by bands before you and taking it to another level!!! It's the way it should be 😊😊🤘🤘🤘🤘
I felt the same way when I first heard Korn.
I love how he said mtv used to play music "GOOD music"
I wish I could find that KoRn show where they opened for MEgadeth that Corey Taylor mentioned. Would love to watch it
