- Vinyl records are making a comeback in Indonesia's music industry, with sales growing in the past few years. It has resulted in the establishment of the country's first vinyl-pressing plant in nearly half a century. The facility began production last year and is also catering to demand from labels in the region. But as CNA's Saifulbahri Ismail finds out, sustaining the business in the long run may still be a challenge.
i had so much love to IndonPop as a Filipino... i've been searching for Vina Panduwinata's Cinta album in vinyl format but it's a hard luck looking for it's OG pressing and in perfect condition... and many years i am wishing for a remastered re-release...
great taste you have!
@@Adyapd IndonPop had lots of Genres like Punk Rock, Bossa Nova and Pop... i am Millenial with a taste on songs from the 50's onwards. appreciating Artists and singer's past works and albums and singles by preserving the records till it remastered and i am happy more people like me are now enjoying the HIFI of analog records and the vinyl industry came back from the grave. thanks to Taylor Swift and Lady Gaga as they revived the vinyl format and some artists follows
Real sound of music has come back! 😎👍
Vinyl with tube gears and a good pair of loudspeakers can produce very enjoyable mellow music. The quest for audio Hi-End.
ah. no wonder all of a sudden Audio Technica bringing almost their entire Vinyl Record Player lines to Indonesia for the past 3-4 years.
I never had any vinyl back then since I couldnt afford it.. with limited editions and materials, I believe the cost would be extremely high and only those gold miners who can buy it 😁😁
supply x demand. if they make more record, prices would be down. they still they producing low so they can sell it i a much higher price. higher prices on records is not good. where as not all people will choose to buy it.
This is Indonesia, everything is cheap
@@luarbiasawaras8700only if you buy it with foreign currency.
@@luarbiasawaras8700no it isnt you moreon , the brand new vinyls is expensive for regular folks in indonesia.
@@luarbiasawaras8700 cheap for mass produced items, still expensive for this vinyl thing as it’s a collectiblr item
my cat says
next step is to make computer interface media hardware that can plug into these classic vinyl records!
The sound produced by an LP sounds better than any CD or DVD or BD does.
If can use recycle plastic it will definitely reduce the more plastic that are dumped
The quality of the plastic affects durability and precision. The result of pressing recycled plastic would be subpar
If cost of manufacturing of vinyl records is cheap enough they might export vinyl records 2 United Kingdom & United States
When I think about how big just the punk scene in Indonesia has grown I see the demand for quality records to support homegrown talent. I ain't too familiar with the mainstream but if it has similar developments then creating tools to make Indonesias artists available at home and to the world might generates a new business market for talented artists.
I mean, we have had access to some of the best development of Headphone for the past decades. I am glad the vinyl making a comeback.
But the amount spend on equipment to produce the live natural sound is beyond cost affordable. High grade stylus are a must for great sound and maintained periodically. But I hope vinyl makes a big comeback awesome.
This really raises a point about how anti-consumerist the import, customs, and tax policies have on acquiring overseas products in Indonesia. The government expects local businesses to start getting creative so it could produce their own products locally, but getting the manufacturing planning done is the hard part, as some features are still dependant on overseas acquisitions, and the required needs is not feasible for your average MSME.
Yes!

Pretty sad no local media cover this, good news
I still can't find a substitute for vinyl......
There are alternatives but..not real all artificial.
Teruntuk PHR, mohon rilis colored vinyl records untuk album² Indonesia kekinian ♥♥♥♥♥
It's not a big comeback of analog or anything. At this point of time, vinyl is just for aesthetic.
For the highest sound quality, all those lossless audios are just... lossless. But, yeah, each to their own.
This sounds really interesting!
I listen to vinyl records it is amazing
suka sekali topik kalian. 😊
