Day 5 of asking ScrapMan to play multiplayer monday challenge maps in workshop publish ready mode, not build testing mode. Game performs worse in "Play and test" mode, when it comes to physics, sounds, fps and multiplayer performance. If you bake the map, make it ready to be published on Steam Workshop, and then play it with your friends, it will be wayy smoother experience in every aspect.
@@yellowskrub I am a well known hide'n'seek map builder in workshop and building in challenge mode for years my friend. I have no gain from lying about this.
The bouncing was likely due to the fact that most of your map is a single chunk of wood, apart from the wedges. If you had used a different block for the structural frame it would have probably been better.
@@josephnicholas4221 He's saying that ScrapMan should have used different types of blocks instead of just one type. Scrap Mechanic has a weird problem with large lengths or surfaces of the same block, and driving on such things often has similar results as seen in the video. The way to get around this issue is to place different block types so that it has to calculate smaller patches at a time.
Same goes for creation stability on water, if you separate your buoyancy into different bodys/chunks, your creation will actually float like a proper boat
I'm so glad to see new Scrap Mechanic content after the update. MM definitely makes my Monday. I'm currently working on another challenge pack now that I have a few new tools to play with.
I always love how creative you guys are with multiplayer mondays even though there has been mostly hide and seek I spent most of my life watching a cat and a squid play Minecraft adventure maps so it’s fine to me and they are entertaining
Shoulda put some explosives on top of the wall that separates the loop.. that'd be fun XD . Love watching multiplayer Mondays though, thank you scrapmann!!!
One of the reason creations work better with multiplayer is because vehicles work with momentum, and players with more instant direction and speed changes. When a player punches in inputs for its characters, the client calculates how the player to move, whilst sending these inputs to the host. The host then receives these inputs and does the same player movement calculations. But because of things like input lag and the fact that the clients computer is not the hosts computer, the server calculations often result slightly different then the client, as well as that some inputs sent from a client may be received later and out of order, causing different things to happen on the host's simulation then the client's simulation. For example, if on the client you from a standstill start running and jumping at the same time, the jump input might be received by the host at a later point then the start running input. The host then thinks the player jumped after running off the platform, and corrects the client to 'teleport' below the platform you tried jumping on With a creation it is different, because they have momentum, receiving a specific input from the client later is less detrimental. The correction (teleport effect) would generally be much smaller, because the position difference between a car with speed driving slightly to the left and a car with speed going slightly to the left
This is like the turtle and the hare. Kan = Hare, Kosmo = Turtle. Kan speed through the first half, then slowed (the nap in the story), and then Kosmo caught up and won.
I wonder if using thicker platforms would help with the collision physics. If you do that then objects that clip through the wood would only collide with the top surface and not the bottom surface and maybe that would make the bouncing not as bad?
Kan starting the video the way it ended. Maybe you guys need to make your courses in segments that could be welded in any order. Also I'd like to see a downhill sled or something course with frictionless wedge blocks
I believe the bounce happens less when it's 2 blocks thick instead of one. At least in my experience in multiplayer but I only play with one other person not 2
It is wild to me that any modern game still uses completely server-side movement. It doesn't work well. It will always jump you around if you aren't the host.
From a programer point of view they reduced lag by halving the number of block the engine sees, so before on a 5x5 all 25 would be count, now it probably skips one and counts the next making a 5x5 seem like a 3x3, skiping all the middle blocks and making so fast moving objects can phase through others. Indeed making it lag less in the process. That is my 5 cents on it.
day 31 of Suggesting 2v2 or free for all "realistic" tank battle. By realistic, i mean the only allowed camera angles would be first person and via camera blocks (to represent vision ports and whatnot on a tank), and tank steering would be required. the rest of it would be up to the builder (turreted or casemate, etc)
Day 10 of asking for a battle where you each make a vehicle of your choice unknown to the other players. This might lead to a tank, a submarine, and a helicopter in a battle, so you would have to prepare a way to combat any threat (amphibious, etc.). In case of an OP build, you can let the losers have some more power cores and blocks to try and even the playing field.
i have a idea for next multiplayer monday: use the bacteria mod as a wepon with only one source block of choice and 16 antibactereal blocks (limits may need to be adjusted)
Some other youtuber got married around same time kAN did. Someone made a comment under their video like this guy stopped whining and got chill since then. It seems to have opposite effect on kAN. I've seen him miserable for like 4 weeks straight now. I'm sorry kAN, hope it gets better. *pat * *pat *
how about this idea, but give them 5-10 minutes to build their own vehicle, and at each checkpoint they are allowed up to 5 minutes to modify their vehicle, and certain parts being blacklisted, like for example "no pistons".
a bigger loop would probably work better. like the challenge mode loop of death is twice this size and i think about twice the jank cause you had to carry a ball...
Kan really has a fun personality to watch xD makes the video 100x more entertaining Also by any chance, can you put links to their channel on collaborators if its not too much work, if so idm. If you can use tires as gyros in this game, (specifically in place of the suspension glitch) would it be a bad idea to try a multi player Monday gyro olimpic games style challenge? Multyplayermonday idea bumper boats but the bumpers on your boats are explosives so when you hit eachover hard egnoth you splode or make botes out of cardbord
The fact that kan couldn't even hit the finish when it was on the ground XD
