Love this video. Now i will be painting my little heart out as I have moved into my mothers house and all of her gnomes and are old and need sprusing up, as well as some pots!
Great job! And as someone who has restored small outdoor statues I can say you did it absolutely perfectly! One of the most important steps you can do in repainting is a couple of coats of white paint or primer. Makes colors so much brighter!!! Excellent video!!! ❤️❤️❤️👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻
Oh my! I’ve been redoing faded gnomes for years! Paint on new gnomes seems to fade within a summer…. The ones I’ve redone with outdoor (no sealer) are still vibrant years later. I’ve even done some really cute garden ‘bugs” for my mil! I thoroughly enjoy repainting things for garden….. you had a really cute gnome! Once we get back to “normal” around here, I have a stock pile of gnome painting to do! We brought probably a dozen from my mil house (she moved in with us). Plus they are so cute when they are bright & shiny!
Oh wow, so you skip the sealant all together? Good to know that will work with the outdoor paints, Sharlene. I seal EVERYTHING in the Pacific Northwest. It doesn't seem like it, but our outdoor stuff sure does take a beating.
Might be salt air? I’m in Sacramento area. I also bring everything in during the winter. I have pinwheels in fabric & metal, rabbits, lots of gnomes various other garden goodies. After first rain or cold front in fall/winter, I take buckets around yard & gather everybody up and they winter over in our exterior bath. After frosty mornings period pass, I bring everyone back to enjoy the smiles & general “good feeling” they all bring to the yard! I have a bunch 3-4 heaping buckets now with mil addition probably 5-6 buckets. Her room faces front yard, so I will be redoing her gnomes and setting up front yard for her to enjoy (she spends a lot of time in her room).
Very very cute! I have a few frogs that I have to repaint. I used to be a frog person before the gnomes came out so the gnomes have frogs in their garden too anyway..well mine do ! LOL 😂 you just got back from vacation? So does that mean you are all moved?? You were mentioning 100 degrees so I thought you were maybe all moved into Texas. Well we are in the 90 s and I am in Wisconsin so wow it's going to be a Hot Summer. I'm going up and leaving for camping in a week and the last trip we had 2 days in the 90 s. Mother Nature is baking us all this year.😎😘
Oh my, that is going to be a hot summer for you! No, not moved yet. It was originally just a vacation to see family but then turned into a house hunting trip. We are going to wait to sell this house (or rent it out if it doesn't sell within a couple of months) before we get down to Texas.
I have two of this same Guy! I love them but one has been filled and I would like to do it to the other… I’m just not sure what to use? Concrete? Any ideas?
It will definitely work on concrete and ceramic (and most *likely) resin but I don't have a resin gnome to test. As for plaster, you have to be a bit more careful when sanding because you don't want to go too deep and cut into it with the sandpaper. As for the paint and sealant, you bet it will work. :)
@@jennierollins8789 Mine is ceramic. It's like this one (just mass produced, they just had a lot of history with it): www.etsy.com/listing/1237153325/vintage-ceramic-gnome-red
Haha you're not weird. This one was a refurbish for a friend so I didn't have a choice on it. Those little garden gnomes often come with really expressive faces but I'll see if I can find one without.

Awesome job!! I’ve got the inspiration to redo my father in law’s football player gnome 😊 thank you 🙏🏽
Super cute! Thanks. My gnome will be refurbished now

Oh yay, I'm so glad, Vanessa. My first attempt was... less than. LOL
I just got three unpainted ones, a girl standing, and two boys, one sitting and one laying down. Now I’m excited to paint them!!!
Ooh I'd love to see them when you're done!
@@SarahNenniDaher I’ll post them on the FB group when I’m done!
Sooooo cute. I’m going searching for one to paint. Thanks for all your encouragement today 🥰🤗
Thank you so much, Alice, and thanks for watching along today.
I got one, going repainted. You did great ❤
I'm so glad! I hope you had fun. :)
Super cute Sarah! You did an amazing job ❤️ Tfs and God Bless 🥰 💜
Oh thank you so much, Dawn. 💜💜

I made 3 Hocus Pocus inspired Gnome-ettes for an auction for our theatre.
Oh wow, I bet those are so cool. I'd love to see them.
Love it
What paint do you use?
❤❤❤❤❤ mi piace! Comprerei tutti questi, ma costano molto l’invio per l’Italia su EBay, ma io ne vorrei tutti i gnomi degli stampi Alberta’s ❤❤❤❤
Sarah this is adorable. Is the gnome plaster? Will this same procedure work on resin and concrete? ☮️

Good paint job. I don’t like gnomes with eyes. I’m just weird.
