I agree with fleur, hes just a great and versatile unit in general for single/2x2 bosses, also great that he has a global sniper chain, never regretted him since the moment i got him, worth all those 100 pulls :'>
A few things: 1) Eicy: should emphasize that the DEF ignore component of her equipment allows her to do respectable damage for a converter against higher DEF enemies and keeping her relevant for a long time to come. Also, she can proc her equipment twice with Istvan 2) Hiiro does well as an off-color captain because other elements also have enhanced tiles through A3 upgrade of their 5* 4-tile converters. It doesn't have to be green. The active skill is especially good in thunder team since Gronru and Beverly doesn't convert green and so her active can be used to tweak their path and/or set up a follow-up strike during cooldown rounds. Her main issue should be her relatively low base ATK stat 3) Because Michael does % current HP damage, it might not be desirable to put her in the last spot. Sure you get higher combo counter off her normal attacks but you lose out on the % current HP of the stack. If the boss has a lot of HP, 2nd slot should be the spot outside of captain. 4) I should remind you that Bethel exists for water and she doesn't have the weird combo Sharona has + those Frankels do a lot of damage and you can use them to launch long-range attacks against enemies during cooldown rounds by chain combo into them.
I don't have bethel, but I sure like her compared to Sharona. Sharona is such a good utility yeah, that tp is very nice, but outside of that I really hate her because of her chain. Why water have such a weirdass cc shape 😢
Fire: Eicy, Faust, and Charon/Sinsa. Forest: Nikinis, pact, and Hiiro/Areia. Thunder: Gronru, Beverly, and Michael. Water: Sariel, Kleken, and Carleen/Sharona (Replaceable with Regal later down the line).
Hell yeah Fleur is awesome. Being a sniper who's good at dealing with both single tile and 2x2 enemies, that makes him extremely versatile overall. He's also the best captain for auto teams imo.
Found your guide yesterday (the 'worthy low star unit' one) and love it so much! Instantly subs :). You're one of the most detailed / logic-based AS UA-camr out there IMO. On the side notes, it is a heartbreak hearing that Frostfire is the worst Old Seal since I like her art soo much and she's the reason I started this game TvT. Gonna continue aiming for her tho..
I normally support "just use who you like" but with Frostfire it's a bit different because it takes so long to unlock a legendary and the other three are so strong. I really hope they consider buffing her a bit.
You're the first Alchemy Stars UA-camr I've watched, and the videos out so far have been really informative and I like your style of commentary. Thanks for the guides btw, I just got back into A.S and man do I have a lot to catch up too lol
would also like to add for forest that migard is also an insanely good unit having the second highest attack stat behind mythos and is a very well rounded character (although i am biased as she is my favourite) she does have some downsides of course being that her teleport range is small however its only a 2cd active and does insane amounts of damage especially on single targets. definitely a good damage dealer to consider besides hiiro imo
Migard is fantastic damage with a bit of teleporting utility. Very very strong! I feel that Hiiro wins out just by a bit because of how detonator damage works and how many strong enemies take up multiple tiles, but I would definitely recommend people roll on Migard banners as well! I wanted to keep this video down to one strong unit for each element or else it could easily become 40 minutes to an hours lol. I might do a follow-up recommendation video sometime though because Fire has other units worth mentioning as well like Gram and Novio.
For Sinsa VS Charon i will say it simply like this Sinsa is built for pure damage and in semi contrast Charon has his utility due to his Tile reset and Push and pull
Haven't gotten Sinsa, but I make ample use of Charon. I'd say he's a better unit against bosses because of his extra def-ignoring damage on noral attacks, his 2-cluster detonator chain and his ability not only dealing good damage but also resetting tiles on the way, which can be helpful when dealing with locked or broken tiles.
i really like hiiro.. she's my converter detonator captain.. just really adds versatility and makes me connect to the tiles away from the tiles im on.. i dun have many aurorians currently but with her, i dun need to teleport and just do with what i have on the board..
Was looking for this comment. Bethel’s two Frankels that aoe/single target with each active skill cast, on top of them attacking when she chains as captain, make her unbelievably bursty. Full chain she dumps hard on bosses, moreso with characters on low active CDs. Definitely an underrated 6 star

@@kuronia6698 At 50 pulls, if u haven't gotten a 6*, the percentage of obtaining one increases by a 2,5% every single pull. So, at your 60 pull you should be at 27% chance of pulling a 6*. Adding on to this, examples of teams? As is, who are the BEST DPS units for each element and what characters synergize well with them? I'm having trouble doing so. Also, what do I prioritize doing with my prisms?
@@instantwong early game I would suggest building a solid single team to carry for content and events. What I love about AS is that the challenges really encourage creative team-building to overcome them and even your core teams of each element will have a bench of three to five units that you swap in and out depending on the situation. Some units have team synergy like Hiiro with enhanced tiles or Bethel with low cooldown skills, but more often you're looking at the enemy abilities and trying to counter those. I currenty rerolled three times in the game. First account got Gronru and Leona. Second one got Eicy and Schuarz(the old cool guy). The third one got Sariel and Hydrad. I'm planning on sticking with the Water one since all of the units I got there including the 4 stars are all water. Or should I reroll and try to get another unit? Any tips would be helpful!
Yes looks like a promising start for water Invest in vice as she is very good Invest decently in sariel and hydrad Invest a minimun in mrs blanc until you finish stage five where you can get the cross converter for water(Barton) As for your captain who you will need max investment normally would be any good 6 star detonator (If you don't get any, max invest on vice then use chloe until any other alternative)
I don’t have Charon but I do have Sinsa and I love him. I originally wanted Eve when they still had both on the same banner (thank god that went away) and I was initially disappointed to get him over her but several months later I am very happy with how that ended up. I chose requiem first to pair with Michael and now I’m working on Regal. I have Hiiro at BT3 and she might be my favorite unit secondary to Gronru… Christmas skin may never come off my home screen…. Good video keep it up!! Side note: did you do any reviews of the collab units or the free unit from the last event? Seems there is a serious lack of content for some of this stuff.
I haven't been doing reviews yet, but I might in the future. I work full-time and so I can't always keep up with time sensitive content at the moment. Even this video took a bit of extra focus to make before the Sinsa RRR banner started lol. The community is still young so hopefully more content creators start popping up.
I'm 1-week player and so far have been focused on building Forest team up. However I do want to be on the lookout for outstanding non-forest units to build around eventually. Charon is upcoming and he's community favorite. But do you think I should just save for Sinsa? I mean even if I do get Charon, I won't use him anytime soon. As f2p it'll take me a while to build Forest as it is, but I don't want to skip on outstanding units, but at the same time I don't want to pull for units that will be less effective over time (due to power creep/better alternatives/etc). Recommendation?
I always recommend that any new accounts roll on any and every decent banner so you can build up your collection of strong 5 stars. Charon would be a great banner to roll on even if you won't use him right away. You will use him eventually and you'll get other units, heartstones, and star gems along the way. I feel general account building is more important than specific unit targeting until you have a decent team of each element.
Preempt behind MBT is the norm for great converters like column converters and Irridon tho. Even if you're a f2p, saving up yellow flares for irridon/Carleen/Hedy MBT is worth it imo, IF said converter is your main color converter. If not, don't bother and just pulls for units that you lack. It is simply because converters like Irridon and Carleen/hedy are just that strong at preempt.
Maybe I should have been clearer but I was reviewing the breakthroughs not as part of the overall unit review but so people could make educated choices on when to pursue dupes. Mbt pre-emp does hurt Sharona because you'd really like that on her, but mbt Michael hurts a little less because her bt3 is so good.
@@rayneforresy640 certainly it's part of planning, I just personally dislike gating great upgrades behind dupes. No no no it was a great point to bring up and these kind of discussion are good to have. I've only played two other gachas and I am glad this system is somewhere between Arknights (where dupes meant almost nothing and felt bad to get) and Genshin Impact (where some units were only good with multiple dupes) but it's a hard system to balance out so that everyone has a good experience. I believe that for all non-convertor units, dupes just let the unit do what they already do better, but there may be exceptions like Michael whose bt3 adds a whole new mechanic. Pre-emp is really really nice, don't get me wrong, but it's maybe one more use of the ability overall and mostly just helps out timing the ability with others. Breakthroughs are massive for conversion units though because an extra tile or one less turn of cooldown can add multiple additional aurora times to a run.
Hiiro isn't that much more. Interesting, I'm not sure why. All I can think is that they both do % current HP damage and so whoever goes second would do less overall damage, but it's still %hp which is massive damage versus certain targets like bosses.
