Several times in my life I was homeless and I can tell, not everyone can panhandle.
I too was homeless for short periods of time and people gave to me and showed they cared and yeah sometimes I got booze but half the time I did buy food or socks so I always give if they ask because that's what we supposed to do
That would be a 1 in a million. And even if that were the case she still didn't have the right to lie to people to get their money. btw, any American who is actually disabled is entitled to a monthly SSI check, food stamps and low income housing. That'll cover food and bills so drugs would be the only reason to defraud people out of money with lies of being homeless.

It seems the IRS looks at panhandling as an occupation. Maybe once a few of them are told they need to give Uncle Sam his share they won’t be so eager to deceive their fellow man.
Anybody who gives their money away to these con artists is a first class sucker. And there will always be someone out there ready, willing and able to take their money.
Since we don’t know what’s actually up with these people it’s on them not us. but if you’re giving with a pure heart that’s all you need to know. You’ve done what’s right if they’re lying then God will know or karma will get ‘em.
If you know they're lying then it's on u. If you feed their addiction your assuring that they will grow in number and become more dedicated!! I've been addicted and I've known lots of people personally who "fly a sign". That money usually goes to the dope man as soon as they get enough together.
@@ericchristian6710 If they have no intention of quitting at that time then I’d rather they “get well” instead of starting to withdrawal and have a seizure, stroke or possibly die just because they couldn’t find the cash. It’s also better than stealing or robbing to get some moolah.
@@leedavila2348 I know what u mean, I've been addicted for like 24 years. I started banging heroin at 17 and by then I was an alcoholic amongst other things already. I'm off it now. But, I'm familiar with this lifestyle and I can tell u for a fact that the word spreads when they are having luck in a particular neighborhood. It varies a lot from area to area. They flock to the places where the people are most generous. It comes down to demographics because personality type predicts generosity. And personality also predicts political leanings. So if you're gonna give em money you should check with your neighbors and see if they're good with the neighborhood becoming a hot spot for panhandlers. If a neighborhood is a good spot they're gonna sleep as close to their spot as they can and they're gonna be stealing shit along with panhandling. Your kids will have to walk to the bus stop (if that's still a thing lol) and deal with them. And some neighborhoods really don't mind that stuff and give a lot and that's fine with me but like I said u should make sure it's fine with the neighbors lol that's just my opinion.
I feel for these people that are really homeless, but these other clowns ruin it for all of them I have seen them at stores in the neighborhood for a long time. One has a bum leg but when he gets money he's usually buying beer , cigarettes or drugs. Many years ago, on my way to work I stopped to get a coffee. It was cold that morning. When I got in my car this guy outside asked me if I had change for a cup of coffee. I gave him a dollar for coffee. Well, I was finishing a cigarette before I left and that dude went into the store and came out with a quart of malt liquor. That really pissed me off. If he wanted beer he should have said beer . Dont lie and con people. Next time I saw him, when he asked me for change I told him to F off and not to ever ask me for anything else. He never asked me again.
People that are homeless have addiction problems a lot of the time. Stress will make you relapse; being homeless will make you stress out. It might not be the healthy way to spend the money (then again, maybe he’s putting off going through alcohol withdrawal on the street) but it doesn’t really mean he “conned” you (nothing you said indicated he’s actually not homeless, but he likely knew you’d feel weird about giving him the money if you knew it was for alcohol). You yourself spent money on a cigarette; does he not have the privilege to make unhealthy purchases in your eyes? If you felt weird about him not spending the money the way you wanted, why not buy an extra coffee and give it to him?

I tried pan handling one time, asking for money to get Propane gas with no-one wanting to help and I live off social security and what tiny amount of food stamps the government wants to give me, have also had to go to food banks and beg for help, no one seems to care about the actually truly poor people anymore cause these scammers driving away in good vehicles or maybe own fancy homes. I got myself and two dogs to feed, yet no-one acts like they care about the poor cause of these scammers. We poor people get treated like criminals cause of the actual criminals out there doing these schemes, it's not right or fair to the actually truly poor people. I have been out of Propane like five years now, been cooking on hotplates, bought a water kettle and microwave, just to cook with or heat water, I have no inside water, so I have to go collect water from a spout or wash dishes outside and no money to get new pipes put in the house. Social security doesn't give me enough money to fix the house or move away. Electric so old that it has a asphalt or vinyl coated fabric jacket and no money to replace it. I also checked in on seeing about getting natural gas and was told it would cost $1500, that is two social security checks plus part of a third one. I love propane, I love it because I am paying one price unlike natural gas where you have to pay every month and propane you don't have to pay monthly, cause I am on social security, you never know if you have money to pay your monthly bills especially when they are extremely high, I used two electric heaters for winter last year cause after that incident of overloading the power and almost causing a fire in other than the outlet, could of burned the house down cause of having to use electric heaters, I can't have more than two electric heaters and two will not heat the home and it cost almost $200 on my electric bill and with price increases everywhere, I will have to pay alot more this year, maybe $300 or more. Poor people like myself can't make it and it's like the system is rigged against poor people especially when you got scammers and schemers making it hard on poor people. There is too much paperwork for the truly poor to get food stamps and for what, just $20, pathetic, people have messed things up for the truly poor person. SAD, VERY VERY SAD! If I truly believe they’re homeless & I happen to be getting food nearby, I’ll grab something cheap here & there, but personally I refuse to just give cash. I don’t believe in giving out money for nothing, sitting with a sign isn’t enough.
Where I live many people give them food and water bottles but they get mad, they want cash and the corners where they stand are filthy with trash of food and bottles.
Having actually been homeless and hungry at one point in time, although I never panhandled or had a hand out, there's no question to me that any legitimate homeless person would graciously accept any food or beverage offering. You can always tell the schemers by the fact that they'll refuse food and such, obviously only wanting cash for drugs or alcohol. Like using your kids as a ploy to make people feel bad and give them money. There are too many resources in this city for that. And especially when it’s like their full time job for years. Yea give to an agency who keeps upward 90% of funds and refers people to state and federal money. When you give to an agency your paying their salary and rent and utilities. Oh and their secretary's wages too
So damn true!! People unfortunately dont realize this is a fact. The agency / organizations are the true scammers who only help themselves. Now that should be considered criminal, not begging..
Give money to charities! You just don't know about someone standing on a street corner. They may be living better that you are. Because they collect tax free dollars off the corner while you are going to a job everyday, repairing your car so that you can get to your job and putting gas in the car, and paying taxes. Sad. What a racket. And I feel bad when I have to drive past someone that may really need the help.
To tell you the truth, I applaud them, you have to make a living one way or another even it means at the expense of others when facing the most harsh conditions. That is what the government and all these companies do putting your life on the line for them to profit.
This why I ignore panhandlers. They know how long they have to stand outside rather sun, rain or snow. They need to be arrested and made to work at homeless shelter or other community outreach helping the actual homeless!
My husband and his boss drove past a man who was "flying a sign" a term used to describe the sign. His boss pulled over and asked the man if he wanted to work and he'd pay him 100.00 for the day. He said the man cussed him out and told him he was messing up his hustle. The guy told him when he came by and saw him standing there he'd beat his a... needless to say the man left. My take is if I do give money once it leaves my hand what they do with it is on them.
I remember my aunt told me never ever give money to anyone on the street unless they are missing a leg or and entire arm. To this day I give no one any of my hard earned money.
Who the hell is to say that a person is "needy enough" or they aren't? If somebody wants to stand their ass out in the cold for hours on-end, and another feels compelled to reward them for it, that seems like it'd just be the business of those 2 individuals.

@@washguy9577 not judging someone for buying booze. Being homeless sucks, I’d need the booze too.
So panhandling to help people is somehow a good thing now? Using the money for others doesn't make the panhandling a good thing.

When I see a bum on the street corner with a sign and I decide if I'm going to give them money, first I weigh out the pros and cons of whether they're a legitimate bum;
I ask myself this:
(and/or question the bum themselves and see if I can trip them up and find out if their lying)
"it's easier for him/her to be doing what their doing sitting or even in some cases standing out there looking stupid and maybe having a friend stroll by and laughing at them and it might even be hot or stormy out on the street corner or freeway entrance or exit ramp dressed uncomfortably with crappy clothes on risking their safety in the ghetto or even a partially bad neighborhood and/or also being harassed by the police or would it just be easier for that bum to get a job and everything else it takes to take care of themselves as hard as it can be nowadays especially if your at least partially uneducated and maybe don't know how to read and write.
Sometimes it's just easier for them to have their own job and making friends, then they have even possibly more money that way and can control what they can do instead of sitting on the corner all day because sometimes being a bum can be just as hard or harder as any other occupation with all that's involved.
I personally think it takes a lot of guts in most cases to be out there doing what they're doing.

It seems the IRS looks at panhandling as an occupation. Maybe once a few of them are told they need to give Uncle Sam his share they won’t be so eager to deceive their fellow man.
Plot twist: the irs also panhandles but with force instead of guilt.
@@NotMyWar If it’s force, that’s not panhandling

OMG, One homeless berating the other homeless for being a fraud lol....
I was homeless for 2 years and 7 months. I never had to panhandle once to survive. Got food out the shelter and the food banks.
I wish people would stop giving money to "homeless" people who panhandle and just d
onate to shelters directly.
This just makes it worse on those that are truly in need While others are either living in vehicles or Tents or the streets
You said it perfectly!

If you want to know if their situation is legitimate....offer them WORK. Most times you will hear one of two things in about 1.2 seconds....an excuse or an F YOU! Lol. Either way, you'll know.
We have currently here in Quebec, Canada, a shortage of workers in about all domains and even my elderly father of 79 is working part time making deliveries for a supermarket because he was bored to stay home. There's no reasons to not have a job if you're not severly disabled. I refuse to give any money whatsoever to theses beggars. If they're able to walk all day and ask people for money than they're able to have a full time job. I don't feel bad at all. They say to me "you seems to have alot of money and you're cheap" because I drive a nice car. (Mind you, it's a C300 2019 Mercedes, not a Rolls Royce) But I'm not rich. And even if I were obscenely rich, I don't owe them anything so I don't feel bad at all.
@@Gurl-5150 Yes exactly. I've did that one time because the store on the other side of the road had a sign asking for employees. I pointed it out to the guy who asked me for money. He just said F- you and go away.

I would rather give to a damn panhandler than some organization. Either way it's pissing money away but at least I can look a panhandler in the eye. You never know who is getting the money if you give an organization. Keep your money folks. You earned it.
So true!!🤦♀️🤦♀️
They work smarter, not harder.
That’s why if u want to give money to those that really need it, give to an organization that knows all the ppl that truly could use it.
Be careful of organizations as well, many people can be skimming money off the top. Research Quadriga art.
They pocket the money. I don't trust organizations.
The vast majority of homeless people are so by choice. Thats the reality.
Yes. That way the wealthy CEOs get their huge cut.
United Way came to my work showing sob stories and crippled children to pull at our heart strings to donate. I donated to them for years then found out that their CEO was making an outrageously large paycheck on money we donated. Crooks on many levels. So definitely do your homework on them too.
In our town we have a lot of this, and many of these people are dressed pretty nice. What's disturbing is, you have the panhandlers using their children. 🙏🕊💜
That is disturbing. What a lazy society we have become. When the government raising your children isn’t enough and start asking strangers to do so.
This happens more than not. Here in San Jose CA. I took a picture of a woman sitting at a Jack in the box counting a pile of money which I did not think it was a good idea given the crime that goes on. But to my surprise the worker's at Jack in the box knew her well and she has a beautiful home here in what is called Willow Glen. Makes me so angry she had a smirk that I wanted slap off her face!
hahaha yooo im from sj too. damm i wonder who it is
There are cons in all walks of life. Many homeless are NOT CRIMINALS.
At least he buys his own dinner
He needs to be arrested
JUST TERRIBLE HOW THINGS GOT FOR THE TRULY POOR WHO ARE NOT SCAMMERS!
"He's receiving MAIL here!" 🤣🤣🤣 Where the hell do you expect him to get his mail? The intersection?? I'm sorry but yes, obv the one guy is a fraud but basing someone's homelessness on where they receive mail??? When I was homeless, I had my mail sent to a friend's house, others have it sent to their parents. Just because you get mail there doesn't mean you have a bed to sleep in, goddamn this is idiotic 🙄
Exactly!👏👏These people are assholes!
U right Bones
If I truly believe they’re homeless & I happen to be getting food nearby, I’ll grab something cheap here & there, but personally I refuse to just give cash.
I don’t believe in giving out money for nothing, sitting with a sign isn’t enough.
Where I live many people give them food and water bottles but they get mad, they want cash and the corners where they stand are filthy with trash of food and bottles.
So the CEO can get rich? Alright.....
Frankly I don't work my ass off to just give my money away to people who refuse to step up and take responsibility for themselves.
Some do take and eat it others want money only
@@frankmontez6853 Yep! They get pissed if you tell them no cash, but I will buy you a sandwich. They usually reject the food, or throw it away when you walk away!

You know what I really hate that I’ve seen the last few years in Tampa…when people bring their kids to panhandle….from infants to teens…sometimes a range of all…it’s sick. Like using your kids as a ploy to make people feel bad and give them money. There are too many resources in this city for that. And especially when it’s like their full time job for years. Like damn you aren’t even trying to change. This just what you do huh? That and people saying they are vets when they clearly aren’t. I never believe that.
You can still be considered homeless if you're couch surfing
I may give them food or something to drink but I'm not giving anyone my money
Yea give to an agency who keeps upward 90% of funds and refers people to state and federal money. When you give to an agency your paying their salary and rent and utilities. Oh and their secretary's wages too
So damn true!! People unfortunately dont realize this is a fact. The agency / organizations are the true scammers who only help themselves. Now that should be considered criminal, not begging..
This is why I’d rather give them food and water. If they really hungry they will eat it
You see more and more cracking down on panhandling when the news gets in to it there’s a message behind it
It's good I know. I need some of those right here where I live... And my auntie back home could use some too. Mate, you're the best!!!
I had given food right after grocery shopping to one at the keystone after I started to drive away he threw it in the ditch!!!!!!
This is crazy.
What’s the difference between these panhandlers and a CEO?
What's the difference between panhandlers and local, state, federal government. ???
To tell you the truth, I applaud them, you have to make a living one way or another even it means at the expense of others when facing the most harsh conditions. That is what the government and all these companies do putting your life on the line for them to profit.
This is why I never give up money no more. All they do is LIE
Those panhandlers gotta step out in front of a car and SUE for BIG $$$$$$$$
This is why i never give. Dont trust everybody.
This why I ignore panhandlers. They know how long they have to stand outside rather sun, rain or snow. They need to be arrested and made to work at homeless shelter or other community outreach helping the actual homeless!
DO NOT GIVE THEM MONEY. SIMPLE AS THAT!
The second one was really proud of being “TRULY HOMELESS” 😂😂😂
You're not wrong on that point, but if you're lying about sleeping in a tent to illicit sympathy and con people out of their money then you're a scumbag. That guy very much was not as needy as he claimed to be.
You never know about these people standing at intersections holding need money, etc..it could be legit, or not. Your conscious battles within you sitting at the light. Or mine does. Sometimes I've even wondered if these are earthly angels at times testing people's generosity. I've given some and I've driven by. I usually feel worse driving by. Allot of the time I don't have cash on me. If I do though in smaller denominations, and I'm caught at the light...I'll probably give them a little. It makes me feel better.

The thing is that we don't know what may be wrong with the person. Some may have mental illnesses. Some may just be staying with friends. All we can do is give with a pure heart hope and pray that good will come to the person that we're giving too. Hell the government does this everyday.
