Fantastic. I'm looking at getting into GFX as I establish more into architecture. I have had a Leica SL2 for 3 years now and while I adore it, it's really terrible for an architecture workflow (no timer+bracketing, for example. No cam ranger access. And more bits missing). This video was super helpful. Thx.
@@UA-cam_can_ESAD hmm I disagree. Most cameras professional or not are released later in the year. I don't know of any other camera which was released in this time frame... bro
Hey Christian, I always appreciate your POV which is more story and creative based! I love my GFX100S (am stuck w it too). Could you share (in this comment) your experience on which T/S Canon loses work best on the GF system? I got that the 50 is great! And hey, there's not much creatively good content on the GF system, I'd vote that you release the GFX100S video (if it's not too much of a hassle!).
I probably won't release the whole video because i stil lhave so much to edit, but you're right, it would be a waste to not release that footage so i might repurpose it into something else. I appreciate the feedback. Thank you! And as for the T/S lenses, the 50mm has the best performance on the 100s. the 24 and 17 are a bit soft. They just can't resolve the full detail of the sensor.
Would like to know more about what you call buggy. I am not talking the new GFX100II but any other GFX before that. I have been only shooting since GFX50s days and I haven't run into any bugs. On GFX100s, I did have overheat warning twice in 2 yrs. Other than that, nothing wrong IMHO.
thx for your reflections on the 100 ii - but I would have preferred a more structured video with different chapters... ps. great pictures you showed in der video
Agree with you 100%. I also shoot with the 100s and love the IQ, but doe not like the ergonomics and the tethering problems. It sucks when you have to fiddle with the usb connection or take out the battery when your client is looking and the model is waiting. I also pre-ordered a 100 II realizing that the IQ will probably not improve, but if the experience of shooting goes to a professional level, I will be happy to spend the money. It's like a Z7 compared to a Z9. I still own the Z9; the Z7 was just not a professional camera handling and speed wise.
OMG the USB C connection while tethering is terrible. So often having to unplug and plug the cable just ruins the momentum of a shoot when you've got a whole shot list to get through. When shooting for a client, on set experience matters as much if not more than the final images delivered.
We are definitely not the only ones having problems. The usb port on the 100s feels much more loose then the one on the Z9. With that camera I never have problems. I hope the 100 II gets a better usb port.
Picked up my 100 II today. I haven’t had much time to try things, but the usb connection feels much more firm than the one of the 100s. So far so good…
I am surprise until now, not many ppl talk about the autofocus on GFX100ii, most ppl cover the video... which I don't really care. I used it twice now. It is significantly faster, more accurate and the eye detect actually work. This is the "selling" point for me since it is my biggest gripe with 100s. I put the autofocus/tracking on par with my Canon R5 but nothing near R6mk2. On my GFX100s, sometimes I had it on tracking and on a still person, the tracking still move the focus back and forth, and thus, I get blurry/not sharp images. With the 100ii, I have not yet face that issue on my test. The only thing I am not pro enough or had the chance enough to test is the IQ and the DR. Usually, faster readout sometimes effect the DR... I am waiting on reviews of these later from qualified pros. Personally, for me, if ppl shoot stills and don't rely on the autofocus speed/tracking, I would hold off the upgrade. On the other hand, if autofocus speed, tracking, eye detect is something you hate about your 100s, you should check the 100ii out. It did impress me on my hands on. Hope you have the chance to test it and give us a feedback on that.
Your comment really made my day. Like you said, no one is talking about the AF. I was looking everywhere to find anything about it. I work in fashion and the times I used the gfx 100 I the focus almost always messed up my shots. My take away from your comment is, that this problem is now solved. Am I assuming correctly? Thanks a lot!
I don’t need the camera, as I am only shooting on a Hasselblad 503cx now. But, I do want this camera to complement the Hasselblad, and for the occasional video. There, I am done. I don’t want the G.A.S to get me.

why the heck did they release it now? CES and the other shows aren't for a while....
IBC Amsterdam Bro, it’s a professional Camera released at THE professional equipment conference in Europe, not a consumer cam. 😂

as an R5 owner myself, if the AF is just as good, then I'd be very happy.
