The addition of the front bar, winch, snorkel and ladder look awesome, great looking rig! Just wish we got this model in Australia and in a turbo diesel :(
I may have once forded a stream with a similar depth on my stock 2016 4Runner Trail Premium without snorkel and diff breather extension. The fan sprayed muddy water all over my engine bay, front wheel wells were steaming which I assume was the engine evaporating the water. The car still drives like before, no damage as far as I can tell, but I think the rapid cooling of the hot engine block causes a lot of stress on the material (think hot Pyrex on a cold stove top), thermal shock may crack the engine. I've since then installed extended my diff breather to above the driver-rear wheel well above the fueling cap.
the factory airbox can handle that even without a snorkel... the water level never even went above the door line. 3rd gen 4runners have the air inlet high up inside the front fender
looks like a good install of the snorkel. my truck would have died because the distributor is up front on the v8. have you waterproofed most of the electrical connections?
....uh, it can handle that lvl of water w/out a snorkel. I've seen ppl with lifted trucks get water logged in a foot of water... It's a matter of knowing how to drive in these types of conditions....
Snorkels are to prevent much dust and debris from getting into your filter, not water. Just so everyone knows not to confuse “Snorkel” with “drive underwater”

I'd trade you a J79 for this. We can't get them here. Damn shame.
Uh you get the hilux just be happy with that
the ladder, the snorkel, the tint😍
I am impressed you definitely use it the way you built it!!

🤣 I guess we found the mall crawlers with their new snorkels. Calling someone a nerd always shows insecurities.

Chris, Can we share this video on our FB page.....until I spotted this video, I thought we were the only ones to ever get the snorkel wet.

What work was needed to make this possible? Do share any good link, much appreciated.

I prefer this 2014 or older model compared to the newer models with the face lift

It also protects the engine from hydrolocking due to water infiltration.
Wow!!
Did any water get into the cab?
Thats what I was wondering
I'm from Houston, I know... you coulda easily done that without a snorkel
Wwwwoooooooooooowoowowowowow jajajajaa
Snorkel not made for deep water! It’s for cleaner air. It’s not a submarine 🤣
Lol. My exact thoughts.
Dude his 4runner is diver !!!
