Instead of focusing on how to make SEPTA easier to use, how about making SEPTA SAFER to use. As a SEPTA communter, I felt compelled to stop using SEPTA because of a commuter who was riding the El was robbed and shot during the 6am commute. I arrived at the El during the 8am commute that day. That was the last time I rode the El. I have never stepped foot on a SEPTA Bus or El since then. I either drive or take regional rail. That's how unsafe it is to ride SEPTA. Oh, and let's not forget about the poor bus driver who was murdered in cold blood a few weeks ago. The number one thing that commuters want is to feel safe while using SEPTA. That should be the priority for SEPTA.
I would like them to get rid of the , shit, piss , needles, blood, and trash covering the front , the steps , overpass and platforms of every train station. Septa is funny Yes … EVERY station
Oh lawd now we have cats riding SEPTA alone and commenting on the infrastructure ? You got to be this tall to ride alone. Or be accompanied by your human.
The only guesswork I do when using SEPTA is whether or not I'll get shot or breathe in second-hand meth smoke on the subway. Spend the money on safety, not some fancy redesign.
Very perceptive. I thought it was just me. Nothing needed to be fixed. Clean up the stations, and make it safer. I used to love riding the subway growing up. When I come home to visit I rarely leave my family's homes.
And people are still going to see Septa. Nobody’s going to say Septa metro besides an outsider. This is dumb. What about the safety of everybody what about hiring more drivers spend money on that
Instead of changing the name, how about hiring people to operate the vehicles/trains. That's more important. It's still SEPTA. Are you going to change the name of the L bus too? Gonna be confusing to the "out of towners" if you have an L bus and the L train.
Good to know I'll be stepping over needles at newly named stops and riding within a cloud of smoke in a shiny new subway car! It was definitely they accessibility that was the issue - not that the El is a rolling needle toilet that can't even be bothered with enforcing basic rules.
How much money did they pay this guy to reassign letters to the parts of Septa? I’m sure that money could have been spent on additional Septa police and/or maintenance to keep the stations and platforms clean.
Has nobody heard of Google or the transit app? The septa subway system and I’ll even add the regional rail when it had R#s was simple. Septa is trying too hard to be like NY with signage and to a lesser extent baltimore with colors
Thank you I said the same. I am from north Jersey and lived in Brooklyn for 3 yrs and Philly is biting off of MTA and NJ Transit. What pisses me off is Septa charges damn near MTA rates for trash and limited service. Every day there is an alert about service disruption due to "Driver Unavailability". Not to mention the addicts and homeless residing on the trains. They are also biting by trying to add the stadium. Brooklyn built the Barclay's center maybe 10 yrs ago and Newark built the Prudential Center in downtown Newark maybe 15 yrs ago (I had my community college graduation there in 2009) and it has enhanced Newark. Brought in more money and a better grad of ppl. But Newark has the space. Philly downtown does not have the space for a stadium centre.
@@MsBadBody I hear you loud and clear. It’s like septa has an app which apparently nobody has heard of either. I don’t see how they need to keep changing stuff. It seems like everytime an outsider complains they don’t know how to get a round they change. First it was taking away the R1 #s and now it’s literally making an unneeded change to subway and buses
@@MsBadBody the R1 was the train that went between the Airport and sinner city on the southern end and on the northern end went to Warminster as the R2
Why? Interesting choice in the lettering. It's public transportation, ask the person on the bus or train where it's going. No need to make it an agenda...
Also, I won hundred percent agree with all the other comments saying that, instead of painting trains with new colors, and buying all these new buses that nobody asked for, they should start focusing on security and cleanliness on both.
Philly has got to be one of the easiest cities to get around via public transportation. The real issue is safety and cleaning it up. People freely using drugs all day long without a care in thr world. People getting robbed day and night like its nothing. Get real, these are the issues we deal with daily.
According to these comments septa can’t work on anything until the safety problems are fixed, given the state of the SEPTA app, sounds like an amazing plan!
Passengers should be able to use all the lines with one card interchangeably. Just add to the charge for distance like the DC subway. Make it one system.
I think the City of Philadelphia needs to stop allowing SEPTA to monopolize Philadelphia and allow other transportation companies to operate in Philly.
It's a stupid idea that Leslie Richards cooked up. *B1 Local & B2 Express basically go the same direction. * D1 Media * D2 Sharon hill * M1 Norristown * The 15 will be the G for Girard, but don't you have a G Bus in South Philly? You say it'll be less confusing but what about the elderly? I used to be a strong supporter of SEPTA not anymore.
Honestly, I don't understand why this transit adminstration is acting like people are having a hard time with reading comprehension. I have been living in this city all my life and not once have you heard a person say they having a hard time understanding the difference between the Market Frankford Line or the Broad Street Line, and we already have colors to differentiate the subway lines. Once you get to know Philly, you know the Orange Line runs along Broad St, which is the main artery. The El runs from Bridge and Pratt (along Frankford Ave, Kensington Ave, Front St, and Market St) all the way to 69th St Terminal. Not only that, there are maps inside the trains to help you navigate. Like what is the big deal making all of these changes???

Septa loves wasting money! Being cheap! Then tell you their broke! Waste money on rechanging names, waste 50 million on a stupid Norristown extenstion for nothing, instead of focusing on the Roosevelt Extension! Something people would actually use! Imagine the amount of time you could save catching the subway down the blvd instead of a bus! Plus the amount of people would use the sub! Nope lets keep worrying about the suburbs! Give them something they don't want! Lets be cheap and hire a unknown Chinese company to build our double decker trains cars with no experience and waste 100 million and gets no trains cars. Let's waste all this money but don't hire more police officers for our riders. Lets buy new fare boxes but bulletproof glass for our drivers!
Very silly decision. Sure the current set up is confusing, but how is this any better? Instead of making it less confusing, how about telling people to start putting some energy into trying to understand the current system the way it is? Instead of revamping the whole thing for those that already know it?
I've been visiting Philly once a year, since 2019, and have NEVER been confused.
Right. It's not hard. They are just biting off of MTA and NJ Transit.
Put all of this effort and money into protecting your drivers and passengers.
We need security and cleanliness not new letters and colors
