I tried on the rose gold version of the el primero; wow! What a beautiful watch! It also measures events to the 1/10th of a second, not to the 1/8th of a second like several of the others.
I think there is a confusion around waterproof rating. I wouldn’t push ANY pusher of a 100 m watch in water ( usually there are disclaimers in the service manual ). I always prefer crew down crowns/ pusher.
No Lange Datograph, F.P Journe or Navitimer, hmmm. Still some great choices though. All apart from the B&R that is, but taste is personal of course. I think Patek also make probably 20 more interesting chronos than the Aquanaut.
I have a Tag F1 watch with Chrono. Feels a little numb in comparison. But maybe that's Tag Vs Rolex over pushers? It more of a sense of 'occasion' using on Rolex and not instant like on other watches
The only time I use my chronograph is when I am sitting in the car, watching irrelevant UA-cam videos about watches, is to know when my pizza is ready to pick up.
Five years ago, the Moonwatch you also paid half the price of today. And to ETA. Yes, they are solid movements. But just wind and set a Rolex once, then wind and set an ETA. Then screw down the crown of a Rolex, then that of a Breitling or even Tudor. And then you know why Rolex is kind of number 1. Next to Omega.
Nice vid, glad you're back and uploading some great content. Enjoyed your analysis, but I would argue that your "availability" parameter is invalid. Inherently, lack of availability is a feature of a superior watch, whereas excess availability either means it doesn't sell or no one is interested, therefore that factor should have inverse scoring (less availability = 3 points, bountiful availability = 1 point). This also reflects the notion of a "luxury" good, and part of something being luxurious means it's hard to get or not easily available to everybody and any body. From that perspective I think the Rolex, AP, and PP are further propelled into the stratosphere far above those other chronograph options. But then again it's your scoring system so you get to choose how or why you judge them.
I agree with your sentiment. AP, Rolex and PP were penalized for being great watches in a contest of great watches. It was probably not the right metric for this evaluation. Ease of access or legibility could have been substituted. Overall fun to do a comparison.
I believe the omission of the Omega Planet Ocean Chrono is a big mistake. IMO is the best chronograph on the market and has no competition. Too bad you didn't add it to your comparison. 600 m waterproof, non-screw buttons, can be used in water. Great in-house movement 9900 with co-axial. Master Chronometer. 9900 This movement is used by Omega in many of its other models. This model should definitely be included in the list. So I believe that this list of chronographs is incomplete without such a strong and unique model like Omega PO Chrono. You took the easy way out and showed off your own watch ;-) Especially considering the title of the movie for those who want to buy a chronograph only. Privately, I am in love with PO and I already have third copy. Although I have other chronographs, I only use PO. And although I would like to buy another one, I cannot decide on anything because most of them will not match the PO, so I do not see much sense in it. I am in the mood for a Zenith El primero, and that would be a second-choice watch. BTW I am glad you came back.
Agreed. The Omega Seamaster Chronograph 300m is IMO better than most on this list as well. I love the looks, price and the Bond 007 ties make it a no brainer for me.
What about the Prestige and status definitely patek and AP then rolex i think prestige and status one of the options if you wanna buy a watch its like your saying that a Toyota Land Cruiser its better than a G class or Range rover Yeah we know it's more reliable and more practical but it's not prestigible like this to brand for me compare cheap watch with luxury watch its confusing all watch channels in you tube compare everything with everything you will not see a car channels comper mazda with bentley and say yeah its more reliable and function better comon what is the purpose of luxury and prestige then .. example like nico praise Casio as the best brand ever ok then lats sale all our rolex and patek and buy casio end of story !! As a watch lover we need to make different for the none watch guy to learns what is luxury and what is not im not saying that cheap whatch are not good but we need to Distinguish between them

He’s back! Great! Welcome back. Thanks for the great video! 👍
Thank you. Been back a while 🙂

More great content. I’ll go for the Patek thanks! Except I won’t as if I have a chance to get a complicated aquanaut I want a travel time!
Great comparison and I agree with the winner. However, you should have included Breitling Navitimer.
Navitimer would have been perfect to include!
Awesome video David! You have a fun personality!
Thanks Philip
Great video David , Iv always had a soft spot for the speedmaster ❤
Thanks. I never really liked it until I tried one on.
@@watchcraft the bracelet is extremely impressive on it , how’s the Hamilton khaki field mechanical going , still the daily beater?
@@hoareology9325 Agreed. The most comfortable bracelet I've ever worn on the new Speedmaster.
Hamilton still gets 80% of my wrist time 🙂
@@watchcraft definitely very silky smooth & ahh that’s good it gets 80% great craftsmanship & history from Hamilton
I personally love the fact you have to unscrew pushers on Daytona for chronograph.
Why?
@@watchcraftImo It makes it feel a bit more mechanical

Cool Video!!
But you missed the new PRX Chrono 😊

u gotta have tudor and breitling in this line up
I’m straight, but I have crush on David

If the Aquanaut said Seiko you’d give it a 1. Let’s be real. #HaloEffect
😄
Breitling Navitimer???
Of course the Moonwatch is also based on an ETA movement though. 😜
No Breitling? interesting :)
Speaking of embarrassing aquanauts, how are we feeling about the new rainbow chrono with a 30m water resistance? 🥴
I'd take the Rainbow Daytona even with a 0m rating
Wait, you're talking about the Aquanaut? Well that's disappointing. But too expensive anyway, I don't think it will sell well.
omg where is the seitona :D
Still trolling the Zenith owners, evidently.
They seem to like this video. No comments so far
no breitling the ones that pioneered chrono
Rolex Daytona Panda my favourite. But I’m biased as I have one 👍 cheers

Because they are too big!
@@svrocko1 maybe for you. For me it is a perfect size. It should be on the list I am sure.
The tudor could make the list, but that is a great list nonetheless
