Never knew my dad, my mom made sure of that with a custody battle when i was 5..... i google him from time to time.... not a online person and couldn't find a single thing..... i did a random search... be about 2 week ago now..... found a funeral service notice for June last year...... same name, about the right age, even has my older brothers middle name..... yea, my dad died last year at 58 and i don't know how..... i always pictured i would meet him or find him, you know, have a beer, talk, get some closure..... i told my mom...... we talked about it (a little).... we decided i would tell my brother as i hadn't seen him for a while and he already wanted to catch up so perfect.... Next day my mom goes around to my brothers and tells him everything.......... she was late home that day and it crossed my mind she couldn't help herself but to tell him our dad was dead....... gone FOREVER! Guess what, she did exactly that...... I wanted to tell my brother... you know have a sit down and just talk but NO...... The one person who did everything in their power to not let our dad be apart of our lives felt the need to disregard me wanting to tell my brother and tell him his dad was dead..... a year after the fact... like it happened that same day...... even after we talked and decided together that i wanted.............. The last 2 weeks we have barley said 2 words..... i expressed how hurt i was.... It's like, she took out dad away for something i know she has done at least twice since.... yea, my dad cheated on my mother but is that reason to never aloud to be apart of your kids life......... She moved us away to the middle of nowhere and met some other guy...... Yep.... a stepdad that closed fist beat me on multiple occasions and even headbutt me once and paid me $20 to not say anything..... hey $20 for a bleeding nose seemed fair at the time.... oh and yea, my mom slept with this dude whilst he was married and knew and hanged out with his wife....... go figure....... hmmmm i'm scratching me head now why i typed all this...... i'm not sure of what my message is but i guess i'm sick of bottling up my emotions and this song always get's me teared up and angry.... maybe life wires you a certain way and it's damn near impossible to rewire the brain and move on and deal with change no matter what life throws at you..... I don't know.... I've been shrinking my social circle and i guess i'm reaching out or something... WOAH, that last sentence made my eye's tear..... I get it, i feel alone, like the i can't even talk to my mother..... yep, he come the uncontrollable tears i get from this song.... i feel alone, i am alone, people are around me but know one knows or feels my pain 😢Jeez, this started as me just saying i never knew my dad and ended in a therapy session!

The guy in the video is going through survivors remorse. I lost so many friends over there and my son was killed by an IED in Afghanistan. Its so hard sometimes. Thank you for this video. This video gets me every time. I am an Army retired(medically) veteran that served 13 years and deployed to Iraq and Afghanistan. Every time I see this video or hear this song my survivors guilt comes back. I lost friends overseas that took my place on a mission and never came back. I know I am not the only vet that feels like that. There isn't a day that goes by that I dont think about them. They will forever be with me. I know how when they sho in the video the guy that survived going "to the dark place" is how a lot of us with survivors guilt end up. We not only have chronic PTSD but the depression is worse than I can describe. That is why you have so many vets that commit suicide every year. They have no support system becaus a lot of them have family and spouses "abandon" them because they simply DO NOT KNOW THE HELL WE GO THROUGH and are not able to handle it when we go "dark". I was personally on that road when I came back from Afghanistan. I was on track to be another statistic, but I thank god every day tha my wife stuck by my side through some of my darkest moments. The main problem is that vets dont get help or support they need. Those that have not served NEED to understand that a vet WILL NEVER BE OK. If thoes that care and wand to understand and help. Do research I mean REAL DEEP research into what we go through. Warning it will not be easy and will change you and how you see soldiers. I thank everyone that supports us. Unfortunately that is not enough. The government just seed soldiers as a piece of equipment that is expendable. So when a soldier gets out of the military and goes to get help we are just discarded like a piece of equipment that is no longer of use. The government spends more time, money, and effoer to sweep the issues of vets under the rug than it would take to actully help us!!!!!! They do that because if they actually did help vets then they would be admitting we are actual PEOPLE AND ARE NOT EXPENDABLE TO OUR FAMILY AND LOVED ONES!!!!!, but they will never admit that. Sorry for my rant but it needed to be said. May I suggest doing a react video to five finger death punch's song Jekyll and Hyde. I know MANY veterans that feel like the lyrics in that song. Take care all and stay safe.

Being a combat veteran, this video and others like it make me cry every time regardless of trying to hold back the tears. Being with your military family is just another comfort regardless of where you are - that's why they show the guy going back into the military. He also had three memory bracelets on - most of wear them. My husband experiences feelings like this. He lost three people - 2 from his own unit - in Afghanistan little over 8 years ago. He still has that look on his face once in a while and asks me intermittently "why did I survive?" All I can tell him is that God has a plan for you.

They are soo much about the troops. And as a combat vet i can say that survivors remorse is a very real thing. But there is a brotherhood made between soldiers that a lot of people will never understand. It is similar to that of police and fire fighters. The bond between people when you know that person will give their life for yours and vise versa is hard to explain to people.

7:29 those bracelets are Memorial Bracelets that are similar to dog tags that show the info of fallen brothers. He lost 3 of his closest friends in the IED blast.

Veterans represent and undying love for their fellow Americans. Race doesn't mean a damn thing. And that is why we hold them in such regard. America is the most tolerant country in the world. We have more people, from different countries, and different countries than any nation on earth.

Just real quick Five Finger Death Punch is one of the most patriotic fans there is. Yes there are some others. They don't stack up to them.
I just found your channel and I am looking forward to seeing some more reaction videos.
Personally I do talk politics. I'll leave it there for now. You can find me on Facebook

The hardest thing to see is a military funeral! My dad was in the military and passed away in August! Was the worst experience of my life! My good friend lost his son to road side bomb in afghanistan 10 yrs ago! Ur never the same afterwards!

Fun fact. Those tags or bands on his wrist are for his brothers in arms lost. They signify hes there to kill as many before he dies himself. It's a suicide revenge mission.

Two things, if I may: The first is that none of them served. They’ve gone overseas and been with troops, worn the helmets and body armor, but never signed up.
The second is that there’s some talk about why he decided to go back. Some of it is that he felt like he needed to be there. But others say that he went back to die. He feels like he should’ve died in the attack and now has survivor’s guilt. The idea is that he wants to go back, get killed in action, and join his squad mates.

You’re seeing the process of families preparing for the upcoming deployments. Now I served in the Guard so we weren’t full time and after 9/11 we were called to deploy every other year so that the active units could see their families. With my brothers were weren’t just close in our units. My best friend asked me to be The Godfather of his daughter in case he didn’t make it back. I was in weddings with these guys. War changes you, one of my brothers who joined us right before our first deployment to Afghanistan and while we were there he turned 18 and he had to write a will at 18! 22 Veterans kill the selves EVERY DAY! Please help to Stop the 22. If you’ve served always remember to do a buddy check to make sure your brothers and sisters are ok. If you’ve never served and want to show support help a Veteran not become a statistic.

Imagine being on point...out front......responsible for the safety of your team. You miss that trigger for the IED, Improvised Explosive Device. You miss the trigger but your brothers in the Humvee do NOT. The survivor guilt is horrific. Come home and can NOT shake the memory and guilt. Brutal....so extremely brutal. I can only imagine how difficult that would be. You can NOT drink it away, even though You try. You think about ending this nightmare with your pistol, only knowing that is the chicken sh.t was out. So only recourse is to go back to that environment for a redo. So powerful, so poignant. God Bless these men and women who put their lives on the line so I do NOT have to. I am humbled, wiping away the tears as I type. Every time I watch this video, whoever is reacting....it shakes me to my core. Thank You for high lighting the struggles of these great Americans. Wishing Peace to all of our troops...past or present.

There are only two reason why vets go back after what was in this video.one is revenge and suicide by combat.i was a Marine for eight years and combat Desert Storm veteran.when we get home nothing makes sense and everything seems like a threat.survivors remorse is something you don’t get over and try to learn to live with.
