I discovered that the Casbah of Algiers is the oldest district in Africa, and it is one of the oldest districts in the world. I also discovered that the very first Hollywood film about Tarzan was filmed in this famous park in Algiers. And I also learned that Algeria is the second country in the world where we find the greatest number of Roman ruins. After Italy, Algeria has the most Roman ruins in the world. And what I discovered most about Algerians was their infinite generosity. I haven't seen this anywhere else. The sense of generosity of Algerians is simply extraordinary. It's a totally selfless generosity, it's a sincere generosity, unlike the rest of Africa in Algeria we are not harassed by sellers who want to sell us anything and everything, and that's really very pleasant as a tourist. Moreover, Algerians do not consider visitors as tourists, they consider visitors as guests. That's something super cool. This is why I appreciate the Algerian people.
It was Vandals from Germany who distroyed Roman's city of Tipaza. There also are traces of passage of the vikings in north of Algeria. The pyramid was built by the king of Algeria Juba II for his wife Cleopatra Selene, daughter of Mark Antony and Cleopatra, queen of Egypt .
Hello. And hello. Beck. Algeria. Not only a continent. Regions. that. You were in it. I hope. Next time. You visit. East and West. It has a lot of magic. Welcome. Beck. once again 🌹
Im algerian who lives in London, let me tell you my dear world travellers, algeria is one of the most diverse companies in the world, from snow mountains to sandy beaches and untouched desert beauty welcome to the biggest country in Africa
Welcome to Algeria! and enjoy your trip. But too bad you didn't have much Algerian food in Algiers, unfortunately middle eastern food is very well advertised in Algeria unlike the local food, but ask for some local traditional restaurant in Algiers I'm sure you're gonna love it ☺
A british couple = dabbel and travel= has also recently visited algeria with videos of their journey all during travel. Interesting to watch to whom is interested by visiting this country.
#welcome_to_algeria 🇩🇿I wonder why the guide didn't take you to a local restaurant 🤨we have a lot of vegetarian options :chakchouka, loubia or even couscous without meat also the vast majority of our fast food is vegetarian i recommend mahjouba, pizza carré(square pizza)and carantica 🥰enjoy your visit 🥰
We did have some couscous on the first day :) Maybe I didn't show it! I also tried pizza carre which was tasty! Thanks for your recommendations, I'll note them down for next time :)
My city is the best but our government need to improve the traffic , the transport system ex bus take a long time after 5pm and uncertain they need to put timetable of the bus so people need to know if there is a bus or not , we have taxi apps like i drive ,heetch ,yassir , yangoo , but not everyone is a fan and can afford , at the moment they are expanding the metro to the west side which will be a bonus can't wait but still need to focus on buses as well.
It takes very little to understand Algiers. Once you do, it becomes very easy to locate yourself and never get lost. All you need is to recognize the contours of the bay. Then wherever you are, just move few meters left or right to see the bay, and use it as your GPS.

It wasn't too bad, I had to fill out quite an extensive application form with proof of income etc (as I'm self employed) and needed a LOI from the tour company, but I got the visa sent back within a week. I've got a travel guide to Algeria releasing tomorrow which explains the process and the new visa on arrival a bit more!
Just for your information the architecture you see with short columns shorr doors not high ceilings, wall covered with tiles roof several domes is Maghribi style of architecture and not Turkish style although some of those buildings are dated to Ottomans time The maghribi style of architecture can be found in Libya , Tunisia, Algeria and Morocco its nearly like Andalusian style whereas Ottomans style of architecture has huge and high columns huge doors high roof and has one huge dome in the middle and other smaller domes around the huge one usually no tiles on the walls
The mosque that you showed was build by the French in the 19th century as a cathédral not during the ottoman period the old mosque build in the same place was destroyed by the French nothing has resisted 80% of the old city has been destroyed

It’s so sad that you have to lie. Kingdom of algiers was a independent state from the ottomans that’s why kingdom of ait Abbas and kingdom of Algiers were their own kingdoms. Algerians chose join to join the ottoman but was a autonomous region not a vassal state. This is evidenced by the fact that Algerian allies were sometimes the enemies of the ottomans, also Morocco was a vassal state of kingdom of Algiers if Algiers was a vassal state moroco would’ve been owned by ottomans and not the kingdom of Algiers
