Good day Second Engineer Basha, i am a second and have to look after Main engine, i have been testing fuel valves, on this test bed and i sailed on my last vessel where the test bed was not the same and thete was instruction never to do Atomisation test on slide valve, but on this video you have shown an atomisation test on a slide valve, please can you guide me in such a situation, thanks Sir.

The air pressure which we give is to increase the stroke of hydraulic pump. The increase in stroke will increase the hydraulic oil pressure on the line.

sir, good day.
what is the meaning of Leak test of fuel valve?
i asked so many of my friends.
some people say-
Hold the pressure 50 bar below opening pressure for 10/15 second, check for leakage and pressure drop. this is known as leak test.
But my other friend says, rapidly try out 3/4 time the opening pressure, then check after atomization, is there any fuel dripping from the nozzle or not.
if dripping, then nozzle is leaking.

1st one is rt...u cannot do atomization test in slide type fuel valves...second one will suit for generator fuel valves...hope u got ur answer
