He is the best puncher for sure because of how cleanly he throws ko punches with little to no telegraph. There have been other one punch knockout artists but none that have done it so effortlessly.
Ye i agree, he doesn't look like he's out of first gear in some of these fights! His technique is so crisp and why I'd favour him as a better puncher than a lot of the big hitting heavyweights! Thanks for commenting
@@stewybstewy or it’s a counterpunch or the opponent is already beaten up or is charging forward. Pereira is literally knocking people down while they are standing still or backing up in their fighting stance when they’ve barely been hit yet.
Dude is just solid, work strength is different from gym strength he was working a tire shop at age 12 when other kids were doing karate class or something…he’s a beast
One thing I noticed about Alex Pereira's knockouts , they're always clean , it's always opponent with his hands down , which tells you how good of a technician he is , to perfectly set up his shots , even if he didn't have that amount of power , he'd still get a lot of KO's just cuz of his set ups , catching your opponent off guard is what gets KO's not necessarily power.
Firstly, his posture is incredibly balanced. You will rarely catch him crossing his legs up or being unbalanced on one leg. Watching him vs Strickland this is super apparent because Strickland likes to lean a lot on the back foot to block kicks and avoid punches, so the contrast is super apparent in that fight. From this balanced stance, his strikes go from point A to point B always in the shortest distance possible, which I think is where his power comes from - they do not lose power going through needless motion, every strike goes straight to target through it's intended path. Seeing this in his punches is a bit hard, but if you watch his mid and high kicks, it's a lot more noticeable. There is minimal rotation of the hips, his leg goes almost straight up and then at just enough angle to get where they need to. He always finds the shortest path for his limb to get to its' target. Essentially, his fundamentals are just incredibly solid, and his striking, especially punches, remind me a lot of Giorgio Petrosyan. Aside from that, he does a lot of small and different faints to get reactions. One of his favorite things to do is a pull counter.
What makes Pereira different from others is bone density. This guy has bones of steel. Daniel Cormier said it best, that when Alex one day kicked him softly and it felt like a steel pipe just hit him
he has a really tight hips and joints like me. thats why it is harder to read his moves. cause his hips naturally dont turn. and he utilize this weakness as a feints of the feint.
On the topic of genetics, I think that Pereira has excellent elasticity/ release mechanics in his scapula and shoulder. He often does his close range loading-up with his scapula, rather than a full hip turn. His scapula can thus function as a kind of sling shot. It also definitely helps that his hands are enormous, and his closed fists seem to be perfectly flat on the punching surface. They look like freaking cinder blocks.
9:55 excuse me, what? It literally says that F=MA, M being mass. You just have to break the equation down more to get the mass in the equation. i.e Mass * acceleration * velocity = power
There is some tricks he does but remember the biggest part is his genetics, you can have the exact same technique and not hit nearly as hard, even him leg kicking DC very lightly hurt DC, and it’s not because he was doing some special technique
Ideal outcome. Jones beats Stipe and retires. Alex vs Tom for the vacant belt. Alex eats Tom up 7 times out of 10. No more debates about who the GOAT is.

I agree with u guys but I also think the fight iq he uses to set up a punch u don't see coming also plays a major role in his knockouts, but most definitely his physical attributes play a part in this. I think it's important for people to learn to fight using their physiques attributes.
It's all of it, he has great fight IQ, works his ass off and has for years, and has genetic gifts in his levers, muscle and bone density, fast twitch. If you took any of those away and his success wouldn't be nearly as good. That shouldn't mean you can't learn from him though you just won't be him

@@imadeyoureadthis1500Alex has set it in many other times that sometimes he likes to pause in between strikes to see what the opponents going to do next. So he can make the decision if he's going to throw the punch or not

“Knockout artists” in mma is a myth. A KO artist in mma is a guy with 10 fights but 3 kos.
hes such but suuuuch a specialist that seems the KO just appear for him in many times in the fight, hes absolutely mind blowing. historical fighter.
