- Lovely ballad sung by the beautiful Sonja Kristina. Curved Air were a UK Prog band but this clip mostly features their singer. This is from a Belgian music program.

This clip is a total gem. I saw Curved Air in 1973 when they played at Cardiff University. I was on the organising committee that booked them and got to meet the entire band including Sonja Kristina. She was stunningly lovely and extremely polite and gracious. The rest of the group behaved like absolute gentlemen. I will never forget that they wanted to find a tea shop, a contrast to almost every other band I encountered at the time which comprised drug-crazed, groupie-obsessed, ego-maniacs.
Did you see Stewart Copeland live with them in Cardiff?
@@sergioruor Good lord! A reply to a comment I made 16 years ago. Amazing! Well thanks for your question. I believe CA's lineup at the time was the original one with the late Florian Pilkington-Miksa. Stewart Copeland was part of a later iteration of the band.

The thing about Sonja is that not only is she beautiful and has a beautiful voice, but she seems to be a deep person. Intelligent, thoughtful, sensitive. What more could one ask?

1971 through 72 for me is the best period of Progressive Music, before it all got over done and whilst that special spirit was still very much in the air.
I would almost agree if not for Triana (1975) Celeste (1976) Sicher(1981!)...... without whom Progressive Music would be much poorer....

Back in the 60s, Sonja came to our school, in Brentwood, as a guest singer of the school's Folk Music Society. She attended the girls' school just down the road - and was Sonja Shaw back then. I had no special reason to go, so I gave it a miss. Oh how I wish I could rewind the last 55 years!
I used to see Sonja every year at the Croiissont Nuef Tent at Glastonbury Festival. She played this year after year there in the 90s. It was always brilliant !

This is impossibly beautiful (talking about the song though of course Sonya was great too). Don't you wish you heard something like this on "The Voice" for a change? That early seventies era contains so many hidden musical gems.

Saw Curved Air twice in the early seventies, Saw them agaon at Sale Arts Centre last April (2012). Fabulous musicians and Sonja was absolutely brilliant, featuring this number during the set..
I saw Curved Air at the Kursaal in Southend-on-Sea, Essex in 1972. They were excellent.

When I was 14 in 70 This band and othr amazing progressive artist simply took my emotions and spirit far beyond my deepest imagination. i remember loving to listen to this song of Curved in the darkness of my room and drift away

From one of my favourite albums of the 70s, Phantasmagoria. Amazingly creative and original. This was a stand out track. Never realised it was Sonia Kristina actually playing the guitar part.
She was a folk musician before joining Curved Air, was a member of Strawbs before Curved Air.
I loved this band back then. All there music up to the mid 70's was great. Completely underrated and not remembered now

The most beautiful piece of music I've ever heard. I was too young to have seen Curved Air (didn't discover their music till '84), so have yet to hear Sonja sing live; can't wait for her next gigs with MASK - her voice is still so lovely!
Perfect - I remember these from our first UK music festival - Bardney in Lincolnshire - this band stood out.

Na albume hral na gitaru Francis Monkman. Skupinu dplnila dychová sekcia, ktorú tvorili Crispian Steele, Paul Cosh, Jim Watson a Georgy Parnaby trubky a Chris Pyne, Alan Gout , David Pueser a Steve Sauders trombony.Po nahraní albumu odišli Monkman,Way a Miksa.
