My goodness!! What a difficult choice!!! 😂 For me, I feel mesmerized with British accent; but I find American accent much easier to understand 😊💕
Thanks so much for sharing! I think a lot of people have the same view, that American English is a little easier to understand because it matches the spelling more closely!
Same here😂
British English is my favorite ❤️

Thank you so much for the topic! I had a lot of fun learning it! May be it would be interesting to compare saying and proverbs of the same meaning. May be including the very modern ones. All in all, I adore the way you teaching!
Thanks so much for your lovely comments! Proverbs and sayings is a great idea for a future video, we will definitely think about it 😀
Very good!
Thanks so much! We're glad you liked it!
English is amazing!
I find British English easier to understand in movies and Tv series while I hardly catch what people say in American movies
However I understand almost every word American teachers say in their online lessons.
British English is my favourite maybe because of the the different versions of Jane Eyre.
Very interesting! Thanks for sharing your thoughts. British "period dramas" (like Downton Abbey, Jane Eyre, Bridgerton etc.) are very popular around the world, and I think it's because a lot of people like listening to the actor's accents!
Dear Teachers to tell u the truth I enjoy both the accent very much.
Great to hear! We're very happy you're here and can enjoy both accents :)
Мне нравится калифорнийский акцент😅@@highlevellistening

Thank you so much for your kind words and sharing your experience, we love hearing from our students thanks 😊
I like both accents and both teachers.
Great episode!
How about the pronunciation of these two words:" wonder and wander" I think they are pronounced in a different way in British and American accent.
Good question:
"Wonder" is pronounced the same way in both UK and US accents.
But in American English, "wander" is pronounced as /ˈwɑːn.dər/, with the vowel sound similar to the "a" in "father" or "spa".
In British English, it's pronounced as /ˈwɒn.də(r)/, with the vowel sound more like the "o" in "hot" or "not". As with "wonder," the "r" at the end is more pronounced in American accents and often silent in non-rhotic British accents unless followed by a vowel.
Hope that helps!
Both accents are beautiful . I can't make a choice
Haha no problem! It's a difficult one!
I love both American and British accent in Philippines we often. use American accent I love this video thanks 🙏👍🙏👍🙏 it's help a lot I enjoy watching reading and listening 🎧🎧 .

There are very many! Our accents are very neutral compared to many other accents you find in the US and the UK.
Hey there

I love this episode, it’s fun to compare the accent of both countries. I am from Pakistan and I am surprised that some of the words I pronounced just like Mark. However, I live in NY so obviously an American accent. Please do this kind of videos more often.
Very interesting! Thanks very much for sharing!
I love British accent❤
Thanks for sharing!
It is interesting lesson Today😊❤
great to hear! we thought it was fun and interesting as well 😊❤
Mark, when you said " oh my God, that's so crazy", you look like a Brazilian from the northeast😊
Hahah that's so funny! Is the Northeast of Brazil "Bahia"? I've heard good things about that region!
All states from the Northeast of Brazil have the same accent . I am from Pernambuco.
Very cool! We would love to visit Brazil some time!
It Will be a pleasure to have you in my country!❤ Come and stay in my house.😊
Hi! I love both accents in different ways. Maybe in order to learn I prefer British accent because it's the original, but I love hearing the american accent because is so relaxing and nice. Anyway, both are wonderful sounds to my ears. Thanks so much for sharing so many talks with us. 💞
Thanks for sharing your thoughts! We'll keep bringing you both accents in our future videos!
I like both accents

British accent is so impressive but American accent is easy❤❤❤
Thanks for sharing!
Thank you. I love your lessons. I think I can hear and understand American accent better than English accent. It’s good to learn from you guys. Thank you again.
Very interesting, thanks for sharing! We’re happy that you’re here and joined us for class today ☺️
Love both ❤❤
Great to hear! Thanks for voting 🇬🇧✅🇺🇸✅
I love both ❤ I wish I could speak the British accent 😭 it's Royalty 😍 However, the American one was my first endeavor to learn and grasp, so it grew on me especially that I was a big fan of " Friends "
Truth be told guys , I use a plethora of British vocabs with an American accent 😂
N.B. I can pronounce the flap T and R sound superbly 😅
Haha the Royal Family is definitely the UK's most exported accent! But yes American dominates TV and movies, so most people's exposure to English through media is American English, Friends is a great example.
British vocab with an American accent sounds very funny! The Flap T and R are key features of American accents too.
I am an avid fan of Modern RP accent😍.
Very interesting! Thanks for sharing!
I love this episode So much! Gain a lot of confidence when you try to speak with the other's accent haha! Even my two English teachers couldn't speak English with perfect accent 😂😂😂
It's so funny!! We really enjoyed this episode, you hear accents in movies and cartoons or famous TV shows, so we always have a stereotype in our heads about what we think the accent sounds like.... and it's usually really really bad hahah.
We're glad you enjoyed the episode! Thanks for joining us!
Keep’ em comin’ 🥳
Glad you’re here thanks so much!! 🤗🤗
Funny 😂 episode, thank a lot. Sometimes I prefer Mark’s accent and sometimes Kat’s speech is more understandable for me:)
could you advice me? I live in the USA, but I like to listen to some British podcasts due to I like their contents. Is this good idea or should I dive into only American English?
Listening to British podcasts or watching British TV shows will still be helpful for your English. If you learn a brand new word in a British English podcast or show, you can also put the word into Google to listen to the American and British pronunciation. That way you can see if there's a big difference between them.
@@highlevellistening Thank you!!! Look forward to a new episode!
"The Americans are identical to the British in all respects except, of course, language". Oscar Wilde 😊
Haha great quote!
I love both accents but English accent for me is easier both of you are nice 😊And very good,😊Thank you so much ❤

Thanks for sharing!
Excellent video
why not talking about career and relations between colleagues
Nice idea!
❤❤
Thanks for watching!
I really enjoyed hearing both of you talking about the first encounter with English from another side of the atlantic and trying hard to mimic each other's English. Even though I love both British and American accent, for me personally British accent is easier to pronounce😊
Very interesting - I usually hear that American is easier to hear and speak! Thanks for sharing!
Thank you to you both ! Wonderful Teachers, we enjoy listening to you guys 🧡
Thanks so much!
My favourite action is American because it is very easy to understand. 😅
Fair enough - a lot of people say that same thing about the US accent!
I love both, because IELTS has both accents for listening test 😂❤
that's so true! lots of accents in the IELTS test haha
My favorite is American accent. 💋📝💕🙏🏼
Very interesting! Thanks for sharing!

南无阿弥陀佛南无阿弥陀佛阿弥陀佛,感恩你们的付出,
You’re very welcome!
Thank you you are great teachers this video was very useful for me
We’re so happy to hear that! Thank you for joining us ☺️
I like British accent, it’s more understandable. But I need American accent, because I moved to the U.S. American accent is too difficult to pronounce for me because of their "r" and "t" between two vowels. I love your conversation. You are adorable!
Thanks for sharing! The American "R" is difficult for British English speakers too!
British always ❤
Thanks for voting!
Kat! that's like asking a child if they love mommy or daddy the most. 😆
I have been more in contact with American English, but it doesn't mean I don't like Mark's accent (which is lovely). But one can't emulate an American one day and an Australian or British the next, right?
By the way Mark, maybe you don't have a thick accent, but it's definitely there; loud and clear 😄
HAHAHA yes yes yes I know our regular High Level Listeners can't choose between Kat and Mark!!
I understand what you mean, it's nice to be consistent in an accent and it helps to feel confident speaking in a certain way.
Mark is actually really good at mimicking accents and I think I'm really terrible at it because I sound like a cartoon character 😆
Thanks for sharing and joining us for class!!
As English learner who lives in Canada more than a decide now. I would say British English is easier to pronounce but American English sounds like bit more beautiful but learners will have difficulty to say it properly.
Very interesting! I thought that most people most the American way easier, but I've seen quite a few comments saying the opposite! Which parts of American speech are difficult for you?
I think whoever think American accent is easier they are lying to themselves. Being like it and easier is different. I myself like the American accent but that doesn't mean is easier to pronounce. For example water or battle compare america accent worrrar while British is wota of course wota is easier to say but worrrar make nice sound
For me American accent is much easier and also sounds beautiful.
Thanks for sharing!
I think I have a bad habit that to get the pronunciation in the boundary between UK and American English sometime... i think its total wrong right?
There is no "correct" accent in real life. If people can understand you, then it's fine!
to be honnest with you both accents are beautifull. but as far as I'm concern I will say depending on what the students what they wanna do with their english.
Fair point! Thanks for sharing!
Really really i like the British accent 😅
Thanks very much for sharing!
