This video covers the “Part-Time” Labor Market Ratio. People work part-time for many reasons. Sometimes, people work part-time because they cannot find full-time work, and other economic related reasons. This is generally called “part-time for economic reasons.”

@@EPBResearch Just finished the course, informative, detailed, and easy to follow. The summary/deeper dive info after the videos was especially useful. Would recommend to anyone who wants a deep dive into the EBP methodology.
@@jojo88430 Thank you! So glad you found it helpful!
The dude has retuned!
Would be helpful if you mentioned how the ratio is actually calculated. You said that lately there has been a growing share of part time labor, while highligthing that the ratio is falling. Does that mean that the ratio is calculated like this: # full time employees / # part time employees ?

Very interesting
As of January 2024, 82.7% of employed workers are full-time, and 17.3% are part-time.. In January 2024, around 28.1 million people were employed on a part-time basis in the United States.
Is this how the "ratio" is computed?
The recession for MAIN STREET is real. Hitting hard for about 12mon give or take. It just hasn't spread to Wall Street yet due to excess liquidity (M4).
Always great data presentations that add context and nuance as opposed to the regurgitated press releases one hears on CNBC.
You should've mentioned about the recession and part time jobs in 1900s as well
This should be called "full time job ratio". Otherwise it seems inverted.
In my Country the Netherlands Part time is EXTREMELY normal. Average working hours per week is 26 hours. Certainly not for economic reason. But because we don't live for work.
Do the windmills get all the work done 😂
where can i find this chart in the internet?
This chart needs to be created from a few time series.
So we should expect a market crash in May to july 2024
Sleepy Joe told us that the economy is going great just like a couple weeks ago. He even said it in an awkward forceful voice with a sneer. So, everything is fine.
