Our works often turn out a bit different than those of righties. We twist opposite most times and the boss on our tongs are always backwards according to them. Hammer on! Thanks, Brent
I appreciate the compliment. Hope you enjoyed the video. I just completed some dies to do combination jaws on bolt jaw tongs I hope to show y'all soon. Thanks, Brent
Great demo my man. I've got 6 sets of handmade tongs so far in my venture. 3 flat stock(duck bills), 2 bolt jaw, and a pair of scrollers. These are gonna be my next. I have a pair of blade tongs I like to use for flat stock as well, but if the stock is a tad small it likes to slip. These will do nice. 🍻
Fantastic job, Brent your forging ability is at such a high level. I feel privileged to call you my friend/brother. Nancy and I loved your video. Keep them coming, oh by the way you do videos correctly explaining each step completely and not just hammering on a piece of hot steel. May the Lord continue to bless you with many years of forging.
Well get your singles ready, they will be in "iron in the hat" on 6/12. And if lady luck is not looking down on you we can get together later and hammer out a pair. We need to be more polite so we can get a striker for our old butts.
This bending Jig is awesome. Greetings from Germany
👏👏👏 Box Jaw Tongs, you put the year made because if you put the number of tong it is you may not have room on the handle . . . Lol! Great Video!
I must agree. And I still look forward to making them. And thanks for the compliment on the video.
Great job! Fit and finish is good and the gigs are a bonus as well. The reminders of possible mistakes for other builders was thoughtful. Thank you.
Glad you enjoyed. I'm hoping to find time for more videos soon. Thanks, Brent
Thank you, Brent! I think you’re the first left handed smith I’ve noticed! Makes it a little easier to understand.

That trick for offsetting the reins is incredibly clever.
Thank you. I use angle half the thickness of my reins so i can fully tighten the vise and have correct offset. I'm glad you liked it.
