That's too bad the 18 GMC got sold before you had a chance to take it up Parleys canyon. I was really wanting to see how it towed compared to the newer GM HD's. I have an 18 GMC 3500 HD Denali Duramax (30 K miles) and it's a beast. I use it to tow my Montana 5th wheel and sometimes double pull with a SXS behind. (16,500 Lbs) and 2900 lbs payload. I can pull both trailers up Parleys canyon at speed limit.
I think that truck had a level kit or the torsion bars cranked. Usually they have a lot of rake and so they never looked squatted even with 2” or so drop. However 2.75” drop is a lot for an HD but 1,700 pounds of hitch weight is A LOT! The 2020s are only rated for 1,800 or 1,850 for a 2500. Those are good performing trucks though. My money is on it for a 0-60 even compared to your AT4. Those trucks are lighter and in stock form had smaller tires too.

Thanks for sharing, I'm sure I will get another one!

If you did this on 1/2 tons it would be eye opening. So many people overload 1/2 ton trucks
I miss those seats!
LOL, it's funny you say that, they did seem more comfortable
Per the diesel supplement that came with my 2017, the GCWR = 25,300 lb for Crew Cab K2500 w/std box
Too much hitch weight for that chevy
We shall see in the towing video!
That’s a lot of tongue weight. But since 2011 GM has had really good rear springs.
Not for HD trucks
My 2003 has great springs and rides bitchen
If i were to buy a newer D Max that would be it.
Pay all that money for a 3/4 tand 2200 pounds GVWR that sucks. You can shop around and get a 1/2 ton ford with a GVWR around 1800- 1900
Big difference between max towing and hitch weight. Put that trailer on a half ton it would be smashed into the ground.
Shouldn't the hitch weight be 10% of trailer?
You could do a tow test with my l5p! 2018 ltz 3500 short bed
If one doesn't pop up soon I will have to take you up on that!
@JB_WhoWork would make for an interesting video for sure! I live in utah
What part?
@@JB_WhoWork southern utah, it's called Fillmore.
You should try find ford super duty with 7.3 power stroke
I had one, sold before it hit the lot 👍🏾
@@JB_WhoWork I think it's cool your doing the older trucks too
