Even if he's broke he's lived the life and done things people can only dream of. like Harry or not he's got my respect and I hope comes back larger than ever.
I remember Harry in the eighties standing on the steps at Hackney dogs. Everyone knew he was there because he has a presence about him. Miss all the other characters there too. Wonderful wonderful days

This was filmed in 97. Findlay said in an interview that after this was filmed he was £200k in debt and had to put up the deeds to his house in Sheffield. Then the next summer in 98 he made over a million betting on the 98 world cup.
Sold that house and red bmw and al 😂 near lost the pot in India but got rained off. Draw. My god.
The horse race he is watching that he 'lumped on' is Suranom ridden by Jason Titley at Ludlow, 24th March 1997.

He doesnt really seem like he has lived life to the full he knows race tracks and phones ... but has he seen mountains ... met diff types of people ... learned other languages travelled to crazy places spent time with family ....written poetry ? seen streets and museums?? philosophized?? he seems to lead a very sheltered life.

We are poles apart. I am a large price backer but i respect Harry and what he did for my sport; horses. That ain't even his passion.

I'm surprised to see some people describe this as a wind up, but then again, nothing surprises me any more, apart from something really surprising, like say if Mandela rose from the grave next Tuesday, or the Daily Mail wrote a good piece.
Putting everything he had, 40k, on Ajax to win that's a kind of madness, but he got lucky, and got away with it. Fortune favours the brave, and he's certainly that.

The Devilfish and Terry Ramsden docs from the same series are good too, I've uploaded them both. Not as good as this one, but still a nice watch if you have 20 mins spare (p.s. I've not a clue about watches!)

the thing that iv learnt most after gambling for 20 years is not to make on the spot bets that always seem to lose. its only when you dont make the stupid bet and you see that you would have lost that you realise that you just saved 500 or whatever. take your time

Great to see the crowd at Hove, Roger Brookes clerking for Mark Green, the bookies don’t stand a decent bet there anymore and the attendances are shocking, sad.
I'm guessing they followed him around for a month, as both horse races were in March 97 (greyhound websites don't go back far enough to check those.) So the doc would have been released in '98 I'd guess.
always remember phil taylor mentioning harry in his book saying that he stood to lose 18k if eric bristow beat taylor in the 1997 world championship semi final, and oh boy did he come close lol, great upload

"Canaradzo Ltd" is the syndicate, I'm not sure how many are in it or how much Harry has as a Director - he's the public face and man who made it happen though for sure.

Haha, think being that way helps when you have that much of your bank on the line so often! The Devilfish and Terry Ramsden ones are also good, Devilfish in particular. There's a Lester Piggott docu that is very good, I haven't uploaded it as I think it's easy to find on the internet still - if but if you can't find it and want to watch it, let me know and I'll bung it up.

Harry is alive and well! Until very recently he was heavily involved in Lifford Greyhound track in Ireland, I read on a forum that he gave that up though - not sure if that's correct.

I love this documentary I’ve watched it so many times .. I know Harry seems to b slowly coming back with the odd interview & that but is he skint or doing ok ? , hopefully he’s doing well .. I’d love know how his punter friends in the documentary & his wife are doing as they are all fascinating characters that could tell a story or ten

Really that’s mad .. he was good craic in the documentary & came across as a very positive guy which you would need to be to survive the highs & lows of professional gambling .. hard to believe he’s locked up for such a crime .. as for Harry thousands have failed & he somehow pulled it off then went so heavily in when he didn’t need to but thankfully is still around to tell the story & seems to b appearing in more interviews again lately

Quite funny reading some of the comments on here..Harry Findlay is a multi millionaire now, this doc is years old, he made most of his fortune betting on golf, rugby, dogs, liked the odds on, never a massive gambler on the horses just preferred to own them, Denman was his with Paul Barber....he may come across a bit geezer but he's got a bigger pair than most, the bitterness prob comes from wishing they could do what he does...not a bad way to make a living...
