I find your opinion and analysis largely accurate. Thank you for articulating it. The cynical groupthink is too pervasive and unnecessary. I too was entertained. 👍
There is really no need to defend historicity when it is so blatantly historically inaccurate in every possible way you can't even tell which era it is supposed to be set in.
I don't really care about defending the historical inaccuracies; it's a fantasy. However I thought it was worth bringing up due to how often it is mentioned online as a way to criticize the movie.
@odysseyfour1997 i think it is valid criticism, because why set it in Rome if it is fantasy? If there is zero effort in portraying anything like it was just do your own thing instead of leeching off historical cliches and perpetuating misconceptions
@Свободадляроссии I understand what you're saying but I think the key here is that there is no intention to be historically accurate over entertainment value. There are many historically accurate films about Rome. Had this film claimed it was historically accurate and really tried to be but failed then the criticism would be more valid but it is a bit redundant to criticize something for not doing something that it wasn't trying to do.

@@youngepicurean8282 Thank you! Platforms like UA-cam, TikTok and Instagram have become so incredibly negative, it makes me sick.
'Historical' lmao
The film is a shallow, uninspired cashgrab. Its about as historical as lord of the rings
@@Scoob505 :O lol 😆 I address the lack of historical accuracy
You all realize the first movie was the same, right?

This is needed among the sea of negativity.
@@ValyrianPrince 100% I am so sick of how negative social platforms like UA-cam, Instagram and TikTok have become. It's no way to live.
I thought, as a film, it was great. Better than most movies that have come out in the last 10 years. However extremely inaccurate
There have been plenty of movies much greater in the past decade but in terms of blockbuster movies, I agree with you.
