I don't know why this story fascinates me so much but Rick's overview has just made it all the more fascinating. Creationists love to point to it as though science hoaxes all the time, but it was science that exposed it. Yeah, took them a while, but it was early 20th century.
WRONG!! You're putting your religious narrative in front of evidence. It was "THE SCIENCE" that lied for 41 years. It was Christians practicing empirical scientist in the US that called BS. Atheist and "the science" used this false information to push agendas of racism and hate (Hitler, Stalin, eugenics etc). Millions have been killed in the name of this false evolutionary information. When people say "the Science", that means scientism, not empirical science. They are not the same. Social conditioning is NOT science. Identity politics is not science. Check your religion and do your homework next time.
