Really nicely done for Vader with the removeable mask, revealing Sebastian Shaw's Return of the Jedi face beneath. Looks great.
👍🏻
Hi Dean, and congrats on the 20K!!!! That is awesome!
But yeah, since you asked l WAS being serious about the DV helmet/head.
Maybe it's just the angle of the camera, l don't think so, but the exposed head is way too small and doesn't match up with the helmet.
You can see when you remove the helmet that the helmet's eyes are at the top of the human head even above the forehead.
You can clearly tell that if they made the helmet eyes match up with the human eyes the helmet would be scrunched up like it got crushed.
But even without that issue, l think Anakin's head looks like a baby's head!
Anyway, just my 2 cents.
Come on man, it’s a 3.75” figure. What are you expecting?
@@AllThings80s l get it, and don't get me wrong l still think it's an awesome figure overall! lt's just that l noticed the eyes and it's hard not to unsee, which is why l said l was nitpicking in the original comment.
You do have to admit it kind of looks like a cabbage patch kid head though IoI.
Either way it's all good Dean, appreciate your vids as always and again congrats on the 20K!
Stan Solo knocks it out of the park again!! Awesome figures and review!
👍🏻
Sadly, the removable helmet Vader is sold out. Hopefully there's more on the way. Great figure!
I think there will be another preorder soon.
Really great review, thank you for the info! It’s funny the figures don’t show up on the USA site. Guess they’re sold out?
You have to order the newest figures from the UK website.
Aw, gotcha, thanks for the tip!
@@NormalFoot 👍🏻
Great vid Dean 👌🏼
Thanks 👍🏻
Awesome job All Things 80’s, Stan Solo creating something that sadly Kenner couldn’t provide vintage Star Wars collectors. You Rock AT8!!!
Thanks 👍🏻
The cloth duo on the Stan Solo Vader is really reminding me of Kenners Squid head, personally in hasbros case Im not entirely certain what era of kenner they are aiming for...
Agreed 👍🏻
Thanks for the review Dean
👍🏻
I got my SS Vader, it is fantastic, the skirt is based on the style of the Hoth trooper, the off world Jawa is fab as well
👍🏻
I like most of the Stan Solo stuff but I just can't get over Anakin's head. I know they were going for old Anakin but it just looks really really goofy. Its a cool idea for a figure but the little goofy head just makes it look silly. Cool figure with the helmet on though.
Good lord, what are you expecting in a 3.75” figure based on the Kenner aesthetic?
@@AllThings80s Well considering that the Darth Vader ( Death Star II ) The Vintage Collection figure is also a 3.75" figure and looks a million times better I'd say I would expect a lot more. Even sticking to the "Kenner aesthetic" I think the Anakin sculpt/paint/basically everything could be much much better especially for the $$ they charge.
@@scottsaoras9089 Well you're the only one then as this figure has been a massive hit.
Dang! You must have gotten these before they released, eh? Mine are still on pre-order. But seeing these on your video makes me even more excited to get them.
The Darth Vader is exceptional! And I'm loving the Dagobah Luke too.
Like you, I can't praise Stan Solo enough for the amazing recreations and new customs. These guys just keep knocking it out of the park and I'll continue picking up all the offerings they put out. Buying these is so much more satisfying than buying modern retro.
I'm always looking forward to whatever SS puts out next. Congrats on adding these two excellent figures to your vintage collection. I'm salivating with expectation awaiting mine now.
I think Chris is doing them in batches, I got mine last week, but I'd say he has a stack to get through!
👍🏻
Excellent video and custom figures Dean! :)
👍🏻
As a recent convert to the magnificence of Stan Solo Productions, I definitely want to get these. Great review. Cheers!
👍🏻
The Vader looks very nice. Love the two-piece soft goods skirt and cape. Would've really liked having that figure when I was a kid.
Great video man!👍
Thanks 👍🏻
Great Looking Couple of Figures! the Vader took me straight back to '84, want one!
and love how Stan Solo have made the boots for Bespin training Luke more reminiscent of the original Hoth figure, makes perfect sense!
Cheers Dean! :)
👍🏻
Another great review of awesome SSC figures! I’m awaiting these figures in the mail and should have them in a couple days. You always know what you’re getting with SSC… You can totally tell you’re getting ready for the move. Hopefully your guitar pick and memorabilia collection will return once you’re settled in.
It will. Thanks 👍🏻
The fans are doing the best work
👍🏻
I want!! I see Power of the Force with coin and card are going to be made! WANT in the USA!
I believe it will be available again soon.
Nice! Thanks for sharing the video. I generally wait until my birthday or Christmas to get them. Easy gifts for the wife.
👍🏻
I can’t wait to get mine, I know Chris said preorders would be back around February. Awesome video, sir!
👍🏻
Wow, these look amazing.
👍🏻
I still like the Kenner retro Vader a lot, though.
Unlike most people, those red-eye lenses don't bother me as they remind me of how Marvel comics depicted Vader back in the 70's.
If Stan Solo sells the cape and lightsabre separately, I'd buy them to upgrade my Kenner retro Vader.
The Stan Solo Vader must be pre special edition version, he's still got his eyebrows 😂
👍🏻
I noticed that Dagobah Luke reuses the pants from the imperial gunner. It’s a good, smart, and creative reuse though
Not really. It's an entire new sculpt because the boots are different.
@@AllThings80s Right, good catch. I just like the uses of the original sculpts on his figures, like how the jacket of the rebel trooper was the original Han Solo jacket.
@@JimMilnerTHX138 👍🏻
I have the Vader on pre order. I went with the carded POTF version. I will be getting more into Stan Solo this year and next. ❤. Thanks the review Dean.
👍🏻
Awesome
👍🏻
Cost is not a problem when it comes to Stan Solo -- you get what you pay for. Thanks for the review!
👍🏻
Stan Solo still batting 1000!.
Once you think they went the distance, they go farther!
Yup 👍🏻
Great review, I especially thought Vaders stance is better than the original and Hasbro one because their feet were slightly pigeon footed. It’s very menacing like that. Stan solo has done a great job.I’m glad your still reviewing Star Wars figures although you completed the line
👍🏻
That looks awesome. It would of been cooler if they did a vinyl cape like the original but I'd still buy him.
I think they were going for a style if Kenner made this in 1985
Cannae take ye serious wi that Hibs hat mate! 😁
HAHAHAHA. GGTTH 👍🏻
The retro collection one is ok, especially for a fiver but the Stan Solo one is perfection as usual 👌🏻
👍🏻
Great Darth Vader figure and the Luke Skywalker figure is great too great video review
👍🏻
Mine is on it's way, can't wait to get it Stan Solo is awesome! That being said I like the retro Hasbro Vader, but SS trumps it and it trumps the vintage Kenner version. Also "F" Smith Lord Creations!!!
Yeah I like my retro vader, not so keen on the skirt on the legs though. I think Chris' Vader looks even better in hand than in the photos.
@@zed0002 hoping Chris continues with making figures.
@@impossiblepie so do I! Though it sounds like about of stress for him, but I feel more and more collectors are finding out about him and buying his figures, though that may just add to his stress!
👍🏻
My childhood neighbour insisted you could buy an unmasked Vader in the shops, but, of course, I could never find one.
LOL
Great figure of darth vadar with removable helmet wow. Stan solos figures are brilliant especially princess lieia in her slave out fit. Wish Stan solo would make animated ewoks ones we never got that would be awesome. Great review dean
Procustom Figures has done the Ewoks.
@@johnwyblejr6460 cheers I'll check them out. I know they did droids.
👍🏻
Quality over Quantity!!!
👍🏻
I know what you mean about that retro cape, I was a bit disappointed in that, so will be making a better one! Along with Chris' Vader I got a Hayden Christian head from Trash Compacter as well with the full helmet and damaged helmet. They look really good as well, so I've got 3 Vaders this past year!
👍🏻
Ideal vader figure for the darth vaders star destroyer play set sat in the chamber. Or rotj dio scene with jedi luke. . Dagobah uke with the play set
👍🏻
It was so disrespectful to remove Sebastian Shaw at the end of ROTJ. Glad he’s back here!
👍🏻
Beautiful figures. Chris from Stan Solo has made comments suggesting he might get out of the action figure game in the near future, and I think the only announced figures still in the works are the Tonnika sisters. It's a shame if true and he will be sorely missed.
He also has R4 M9 on pre order (the green and white astromech at the start of a new hope )
👍🏻
Ok that looks cool.
👍🏻
Good overview! If that's the thinnest fabric you've ever seen on a figure, did you ever hold an 86 Serpentor? His robe would tear if you glanced at it sideways lol
👍🏻
I have the Stan Solo Yak Face, which is phenomenal. Time and again the fans make the best stuff- better than the stuff Hasbro slap together.
👍🏻
As another side note I always think it's weird that the original BL came with a yellow LS. I wonder why kenner did that instead of making it blue...?

@@AllThings80s Thanks for the link!
@@Siragray my pleasure
Where have I been lmao. What is Stan Solo? Is this another licensed company or like a custom place? Never heard of them but dang does it look good.
Stan Solo Creations are not licensed, but they make the best custom Kenner style figures in the business.
@@AllThings80s that's amazing.
@@Beardalorian 👍🏻
l like the removable helmet but l don't like how the eyes of the human face do not match up at all with the eyes of the helmet.
So in a sense, the head is really not proportionate at all when it comes to the human head and the top part of the helmet.
Yes, it's a minor nitpick but that was the very first thing my eye was drawn to and now I can't unsee it when looking at the figure!
Are you being serious?
Great Job by Stan Solo creations!
👍🏻
The head underneath the helmet looks like a damn potato with a face painted on it. It's also not proportionate to the helmet.
Good lord, SSC makes a figure we've all been wanting for decades and this is all you can say? Loser!!!
@@AllThings80s woah I said pretty much the same thing just not as harsh, does that make me a loser too? I think that's very silly and petty Dean, and all over a toy? BTW, @yenomarms is completely right. I see multiple comments here trashing that awful head sculpt so that shows you others noticed it as well.
@@earvein You may not be a loser, but you're coming across like an ungrateful tosser. As I said in my other comment, let's see you make a better figure.
@@earvein He's a GD old AF manchiId who makes videos of himseIf pIaying with GD toys, what more do you expect? If he was standing in front of me he'd be Iooking up and shaking about to plss himseIf.
The solo version just looks off. That neck
How does it look off?!?!?!?!?
I agree with the helmet off. With the helmet on it's okay.
didn't the bespin luke figure in the 80s look like he was also training in dagobah?
Not really. His Bespin fatigues(including long sleeved shirt that is absent here)were clean and he didn’t have the sweaty-looking hair that this new figure does. The original Bespin Luke is great too though. 👍🏼
No
Totally ok.
Kenner made a big mistake in the late 80's and discontinued the line with many figures never produced... A mistake that Hasbro would repair now.
There are pictures of THE REAL MOFF TARKIN and REAL LEIA SLAVE sculpted by Kenner in 1985... why these great icons still lost in the bag of the invisible man...?

I love the idea for a vader with a removable helmet but I just don't understand that head sculpt they used!!! It looks awful, especially when compared to the original kenner figures that had removable helmets, they all looked fine.
How does it look awful? OK then, let's see if you can do better.
Awesome
