That's my neighbor state. Unfortunately my Mustang isn't near ready for that yet. But I hope you get all 10 spots filled! People have over modded and ragged out, if not all out destroyed the GTs and hated on the V6s so much that I don't see them anymore and want to see as many live on as possible, and not just tucked out of sight in someone's garage!
I think more clubs should reach out to Mustang owners to get them to attend autocross events. Most Mustang owners have been told 100 times that their cars can't handle, so they don't even think autocross is an option. I hope you sign up for a bunch of events when your car is ready!
I was just checking the registrations and I don't see an 02 GT on the list for the Novice School. You might want to double check with THSCC to make sure that you are properly registered.
The Tokicos I use have been discontinued, so I usually recommend Koni Yellow SA or DA shocks & struts. I know people who have used them (mostly the SA version), and they've been happy with the performance. I don't know how the KYB AGX adjustable shocks & struts will hold up over time, but they are relatively inexpensive and adjust both compression & rebound. They might be a good option, but there aren't many autocross-tested reviews. Lowering the car 1.5" on stock-style (not coil-over) suspension is a little low for autocross. You can run out of suspension travel when the car articulates on course. I generally don't recommend going lower than 1". The car doesn't look cool, but it will handle better. My advice would be to raise the car a little (different springs or spring spacers up front) and use SN95 shocks & struts.
I had signed up and thrashed for two weeks to get my 1985 mustang ready. Unfortunately couldn't make it because my oil pan ended up hitting my k member
You will get a ton of instruction at any THSCC event. You can also check out Triad Sports Car Club; they have great instructors and a large number of 79-04 Mustangs at their events. Please come out to another event when your car is ready.
I signed up! bringing my 03 gt! I think I convinced my buddy with his 02 gt to come with me aswell! Did you happen to know if they allow 2 people to drive the same car? If that would be even possible
Thanks for signing up! I hope your buddy comes too! Two people can drive the same car at the Novice School and at regular Points Events. You will need to register both drivers with different numbers. If you are using painter's tape for your numbers, just add a 1 to the number, for example: 2 and 12. That will make it easier to change numbers throughout the day. At the Novice School, we will put you in two different groups to give the car some rest.
@@warhorseracing i had a quick question, my car is currently gutted for an autocross event im going to be attending in April at good guys autocross, everything is out of the interior except the dash, racing seats and harness bar, will i be able to attend the event with my car in the state its currently in?
@@CASPER2V I'm double-checking with the THSCC Autocross VPs to be 100% accurate. I'm assuming your car has seat belts or harnesses; it's just cosmetic interior items that have been removed, right?
I’m hoping to sign up. If I can get my ‘04 GT registered in the next week I’m there. Hoping for me it doesn’t fill up and hoping for you it’s already full. Coming from Richmond Virginia and I have done 1 event in the Mustang.
I have a question on Spring rates if you have a second. Have an IRS swapped V6 Mustang With Viking Crusader coilovers in the rear The Spring rates are 450 pounds Do you think these Springs would be too stiff on your blue car. Also I do not have my front Springs picked out yet. Do you have any recommendations for what rates car Has OEM K member ? Also, I really like the content, and it's super helpful. Whether it's swapping an irs or driving better Hoping to get into autocross up here in Canada this season
As you may know, I don't currently use coil-overs on my autocross cars. In order to give you the best answer, I asked a fellow autocrosser who uses coil-overs and has experience with Viking coil-overs. He said 450 lb./in. is pretty mild in the rear, so for balance you'd want to be around a 300 lb./in. spring up front. He also said you will need to do some experimenting and adjusting to find the right balance. I hope that info helps. I appreciate you checking out my videos and I'm glad they're helpful. If you have any other questions about autocrossing your Mustang, please ask.
@Warhorse Racing That info was extremely helpful. Thank you. Probably Best it's on the softer side for autocross. Highways are pretty Rough compared to the states where I am. Only other question I can think of. I swear you said in a video that if you get coilovers I recommend going with 4 bolt caster camper plates If you don' t you can use 3? Every time I would get close to sending this, UA-cam would crash That never happens have tried to send this 4 times
I have some questions about trying to fit 315's on my fox for autox. Wondering if you have an email for communication? Or just talk here? Thanks! Love you're videos. Watched most.
Thanks for checking out my videos! I'm happy to help. If you're okay asking questions in the YT comments, the conversation/answers will help more people with similar questions. If you'd prefer, you can also start a thread or PM me on stangnet.com, foxbodymustangs.org or corral.net.

That’s awesome…I wish I was closer..
It's going to be a great school. I hope there are events like it near you!
Long drive for me. AZ to NC
I hope there are similar events closer to you. Autocross schools are always a lot of fun!

Saw you on the humble mechanics video! I have Been watching your videos since last year when I replaced my 96 miata with a 04 gt .
It was fun helping Charles and Paul with their Mustang. It's going to be a great series. Thanks for checking out my videos!
I am signed up and looking forward to it. It has been 10 years since I have been on track, and I have never done an autocross.
The school is going to be a blast. Thanks for signing up!
Western NY is a bit of a haul but that would be awesome to make it there
It's going to be a fun event, for sure! I was hoping to pull in some people from other states, but NY would be a long trip!
Nice! Looks like my local autoX group is going to have a season this year. Last year flopped on us.
Thanks! I hope you get to do a bunch of events this year! Looking forward to seeing the videos!
@@warhorseracing You are welcome and thank you!

Hopefully, there will be more events like this in the future!
Will be there with my 02 gt

Just watched the video over adjustable shocks, what brand do you recommend? Also I am lowered about 1.5 inches, should I get foxbody shocks?

@@TMan9 I use Ford Performance C springs. They are linear.
